As RedState reported, Joe Biden gave a presser for the ages in Vietnam on Sunday. This time, it wasn't just his senility and references to "dog-faced poney soldiers" that raised eyebrows, though.
Instead, the big shocker was seeing Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, walk out to take the mic from Biden mid-sentence, even as he was trying to answer more questions. To make things even more awkward, the president then remained on the stage, rambling away. No one could hear him, though, because of the aforementioned taking of his mic. It was bad. It was really, really bad. It was so bad that even

Mayor Adams warned Saturday that all New York City agencies may have to slash up to 15% from their budgets by the spring in response to the ever-rocketing costs of the migrant crisis.
All departments were told they will need to slash 5% from their budget by November, amounting to a several billion dollar haircut from the city-funded portion of Adams’ $107 billion spending plan. But if the city doesn’t get enough financial aid from the Biden administration or state legislators by early next year, Adams warned additional 5% cuts could come in both January and April.
“The simple truth is that longtime New Yorkers and asylum seekers will feel

New Mexico Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's decision to declare a public health emergency and suspend concealed carry gun rights is being condemned on both sides of the political aisle. "I support gun safety laws," California Democrat Congressman Ted Lieu wrote on X, the platform previously called Twitter. "However, this order from the Governor of New Mexico violates the U.S. Constitution. No state in the union can suspend the federal Constitution. There is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution."
Late Saturday, a gun rights group sued Grisham in federal court, alleging her emergency order is unconstitutional.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Fifteen seconds. That’s how long it took to turn Texas from an underachiever to a threat, from a program in the wilderness to a program that’s legitimately back.
With 14:05 left in the fourth quarter, Texas was down against Alabama, 16-13, behind for the first time all game. Three plays and 15 seconds later, Texas was up 27-16 and in firm control.
Alabama can attest: Texas is, most definitely, back. A "College GameDay" appearance plus a 6 p.m. local time kickoff meant the entire town had plenty of time to throw Horns Down at anyone daring to wear orange within Tuscaloosa city limits. Downward-facing horns showed up

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham declared a public health emergency over "gun violence" on Thursday following the death of an 11-year-old boy. On Friday, she took the unprecedented step of "suspending" gun rights in Albuquerque, the state's largest city, with the possibility of other cities following suit.
Gov. Lujan Grisham declared gun violence a public health emergency Thursday, following the murder of an 11-year-old boy on his way home from an Isotopes game Wednesday night. That case, combined with several other violent cases involving children, sparked the decision.
The new public health order is effective Friday, Sept. 8. After 30 days, they will evaluate

Elon Musk’s social media platform formerly known as Twitter has sued the state of California over a law requiring social media companies to publish their policies for removing offending material such as hate speech, misinformation and harassment.
The first-of-its-kind legislation was signed into law a year ago by California Gov. Gavin Newsom. In a lawsuit filed Friday against state Attorney General Robert Bonta, X Corp. challenges the “constitutionality and legal validity” of the law, saying it violates the First Amendment.
The California law requires social media platforms to post their content moderation policies — which they already do — and twice a year submit a report

WASHINGTON — A Ukrainian official slammed Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for ordering engineers to shut off Starlink's satellite network over Crimea last year in order to thwart a Ukrainian attack on Russian warships.
According to a new biography of Musk, the South African-born billionaire asked, "How am I in this war?" during an interview with author Walter Isaacson. In the early days of Russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, as Western governments worked to supply Kyiv with artillery and air defense systems, the first of Musk's Starlink terminals arrived in the country. The billionaire eventually soured on the arrangement.
"Starlink was not meant to be involved in wars.

A federal appeals court ruled Friday that the Biden administration likely violated the First Amendment by pressuring social-media platforms to censor posts about Covid-19 and elections.
The Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruling says that the White House likely “coerced the platforms to make their moderation decisions by way of intimidating messages and threats of adverse consequences.” The panel of three judges found that the administration “significantly encouraged the platforms’ decisions by commandeering their decision-making processes, both in violation of the First Amendment.”

A federal judge in Georgia has denied former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows' bid to move his Fulton County election interference case to federal court.
"Having considered the arguments and the evidence, the Court concludes that Meadows has not met his burden," Judge Steve Jones wrote in a 49-page order filed Friday. Meadows had sought to have his case moved based on a federal law that calls for the removal of criminal proceedings brought in state court to the federal court system when someone is charged for actions they allegedly took as a federal official acting "under color" of their office.

Nikki Haley is getting some positive buzz on the campaign trail. She earned praise coming out of the first Republican debate for her strong performance. She is gaining steam in New Hampshire and earning a growing number of endorsements from Iowa officials.
In a recent CNN poll, Nikki Haley beats Joe Biden 49% to 43%. The only GOP primary candidate who does not beat Biden is Vivek Ramaswamy. Haley polled the strongest against Biden. It’s one poll and it is still too far out from the first primary contest, or Iowa caucus, but it is notable that among the not-Trump candidates, Nikki is getting second looks from voters.

After suffering a string of electoral losses on the issue of abortion, Republican lawmakers are considering moving away from the term “pro-life” to describe their position on the issue.
This week, several Senate Republicans met with strategists behind closed doors on Capitol Hill to discuss the matter, NBC News first reported Thursday.
Steven Law, a former aide to Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), reportedly presented poll results to the senators on Wednesday, showing voters increasingly viewed “pro-life” and “pro-choice” language differently since the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade last June.
