Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham on Friday announced a new public health order that, she said, will prohibit people from carrying firearms, either open or concealed, in Albuquerque and throughout Bernalillo County for the next 30 days, regardless of whether they have a permit. The order takes effect immediately. It states “no person, other than a law enforcement officer or licensed security officer, shall possess a firearm … either openly or concealed, within cities or counties averaging 1,000 or more violent crimes per 100,000 residents per year since 2021.”

SCOTUS made clear the guv doesn't have that authority. Violation of rights under color of law. And that, commie guv, means your 'immunity' gets stripped away if sued. Just ask the mayor and police chief in Gary, Indiana what happened to them back in the 90s.

We need a law that says "Any executive who imposes unconstitutional orders does so at the risk of their job." So if the SCOTUS overturns any executive order they may crock up, they are immediately removed from office and may never return. Otherwise there's no downside to infringing our rights willy nilly

For all practical purposes, this is the same tyranny employed in New Orleans during the Katrina hurricane! The police went door to door confiscating firearms on general principles! We, the People have to push back on these unconstitutional politicians and hold them accountable!

The 11yo was killed during a Road Rage incident, after a baseball game...She should ban cars....or roads...as well as Baseball. Maybe just ban 11yo's?

This is a blatant provocation by Grisham and the Rats to see if anyone cares about being disarmed. Sounds stupid, but this is calculated for effect. There needs to be open defiance, protests and lawsuits. Otherwise, this mentally arthritic Commie dictator wannabe will start attacking every other right.

No authority to suspend a Constitutional Right. How about they suspend the governor?

Looks very detailed and planned not something that was rushed through as a result of this incident. Always realize the Progressives are actively working on plans and schemes whether they are constitutional or not, that's not a concern for them in the long run.

Sorry to inform you, honey, but you lack the authority to suspend the second amendment. No one does. Your using the awful death of an 11-year-old for your own political gain disgusts me bigly, girl.

It will be interesting how this will be enforced. For rules to work, there must be a way to enforce.

I noticed that the Gov exempted her security detail. She gets protection, but everyone else has to take their chances.

The daughter of a senior Lowe's executive died early Saturday after plowing her Porsche supercar into a tree - allegedly while speeding. Stella Grace Bright, 16, who has a twin sister called Olivia, was driving her 2014 Porsche 911 near Lake Norman, North Carolina when she flew off the road and ended up in a rock landscaping wall, which killed the teen and hospitalized two others in her car. One of the two passengers was in the back of the Porsche, even though it is a two-seater which is not supposed to hold rear-seat passengers. Bright and the other front seat passenger were both in seat belts.

It’s not unusual that power-mad politicians justify depriving us of liberty using the appeal to emotion:“If it saves one life.” Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo justified the statewide shutdown with this poppycock: “And if everything we do saves just one life, I’ll be happy.” Former president Obama said “If we save even one life from gun violence, it’s worth it.” Then vice president Joe Biden endorsed that: “As the President said, if your actions result in only saving one life, they’re worth taking.”

She is one heartbeat away from the presidency. Kamala Harris danced and twerked at a backyard barbecue as the world burns. Joe Biden is overseas making a fool of himself at the G20 Summit and Kamala Harris is partying with rappers. This administration is a joke. Harris on Saturday hosted a backyard party at the vice president’s residence to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop music. According to pool reports, about 400 people attended the celebration. “Hip hop is the ultimate American art form,” Harris said. “Born at a back-to-school party in the Bronx, raised on the streets of Philadelphia, Chicago, Oakland, and Atlanta,

New Mexico Democrat Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's decision to declare a public health emergency and suspend concealed carry gun rights is being condemned on both sides of the political aisle. "I support gun safety laws," California Democrat Congressman Ted Lieu wrote on X, the platform previously called Twitter. "However, this order from the Governor of New Mexico violates the U.S. Constitution. No state in the union can suspend the federal Constitution. There is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution." Late Saturday, a gun rights group sued Grisham in federal court, alleging her emergency order is unconstitutional. The National Association for Gun Rights sued

Baby boomers and the 'silent generation' are blaming supermarket self-checkouts for increasing loneliness and wiping out one of their last remaining social interactions. When 83-year-old Marliss Myers lost her husband, it was her local Albertsons cashier who provided solace. Workers like Sharon Hechler are determined to maintain that special bond with the elderly, even as almost half of checkout lanes in the US are now automated. 'We all need that human, personal touch,' Hechler told the Los Angeles Times.

Former White House chief medical advisor Anthony Fauci said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that there were “a number of studies that show that masks actually do work” to stop the spread of COVID-19. Anchor Jon Karl said, “There’s a new study out that suggests that masks were actually not effective, at least not in a global sense, in containing the pandemic. What is your sense looking back at all of this? Did masks prove to be less effective than you anticipated?” Fauci said, “You know, Jon, some of the studies are confusing. The study that has been quoted a lot and causing a lot of confusion is this Cochrane Study

Mayor Adams warned Saturday that all New York City agencies may have to slash up to 15% from their budgets by the spring in response to the ever-rocketing costs of the migrant crisis. All departments were told they will need to slash 5% from their budget by November, amounting to a several billion dollar haircut from the city-funded portion of Adams’ $107 billion spending plan. But if the city doesn’t get enough financial aid from the Biden administration or state legislators by early next year, Adams warned additional 5% cuts could come in both January and April. “The simple truth is that longtime New Yorkers and asylum seekers will feel

The concept of the state delivering cash payments as reparations to the descendants of enslaved African Americans is opposed by California voters by a 2-to-1 margin, a poll released Sunday reveals. (snip) Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom and state lawmakers created California’s Reparations Task Force in 2020 with the goal of establishing a path to reparations that could serve as a model for the nation. (snip) Reparations for black residents in California are forecasted to cost $800 billion — more than twice the cost of the state’s entire annual budget, but activists say that is not enough.

Americans are split in their opinion of Pope Francis, with equal numbers “very favorable” and “very unfavorable” toward the Argentine pontiff, a poll reveals. (snip) Unsurprisingly, more than three times as many self-proclaimed liberals (57 percent) say they have a very favorable or somewhat favorable view of the pope as those who identify as conservatives (17 percent). Similarly, 40 percent of Republicans who have an opinion as to the pope’s ideological leanings said he was “very liberal” or “liberal” whereas only 14 percent of Democrats said the same.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez might want her followers to believe inflation is “propaganda” — but her constituents aren’t buying it. The firebrand Democratic congresswoman used her Instagram stories to share a video from New Zealand’s left-wing Aotearoa Liberation League in which an activist claimed the “propaganda” surrounding inflation was designed to protect “greedy shareholders,” who are truly to blame for the rising cost of living. But when The Post visited Ocasio-Cortez’s constituents in the 14th district, which comprises areas in both Queens and in the southeastern part of the Bronx, all of them reported economic pain and many said the Biden administration should not be left off the hook.
