An Eyewitness on the Border

Original Article

I’ve reported on the Arizona-Mexico border for a long time, and recently published a novel about a ranching family battling a drug cartel trying to take over their ranch. But for on-the-ground grit and realism, it’s hard to match the account of a Border Patrol agent who works the line every day. Early last month, a friend began sending me emails written by an agent who risks losing his job if his identity becomes public. But what this whistleblower sees every day is endangering the country he loves, and he has to speak out. Here’s part of his email for August 12:

The federal government has failed intentionally on its constitutional duty to enforce the borders of the United States. We are being invaded by illegal aliens some of which intend to do us harm! We have no government working for We, the People!

Nothing short of drastic action will get the attention of the willfully blind. The entire BP could walk off their jobs - their boss is not a serious leader on the issue. FORCE them to GET serious. Perhaps they worry about losing their jobs - meanwhile we are losing our country. At the direction of the mystery person(s) running the WH now. It ain't Joe.

We are being invaded. Millions have entered and we don't know who they are or where they end up. And most of the huge crowds we see pictures of are men. I think at a certain point or a certain signal, we will be attacked from within.

In the history of our Constitutional Republic, this is the first time in 247 years that the government of the United States is actively, purposefully and happily destroying the country. We have faced some pretty hard times in our history, but nothing, nothing like this. The active, purposeful destruction of the best country that has ever graced this planet. Please God, we ask respectfully for your help in vanquishing this enemy from within. It looks pretty bleak right now. But, we ask for Your mercy.

New York's police officers will face overtime cuts - despite increased crime - as the city continues to struggle with the financial toll of the migrant crisis that has overwhelmed the Big Apple. Upwards of 110,000 migrants are littered across the New York area, with most arriving in the last 18 months from the southern border. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has warned the issue could cost taxpayers $12million and destroy the city. Jacques Jiha, the city's budget director, has told not just the police department, but fire, sanitation and corrections to drastically reduce overtime.

A somewhat unexpected twist has emerged in the JFK assassination saga, which blows a hole in a critical government narrative surrounding his death. On Saturday, 88-year-old Paul Landis gave an exclusive interview with The New York Times where he shared he shared his revelations regarding what happened November 22, 1963, in Dallas — the day JFK was allegedly assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. Landis that year was a Secret Service agent assigned to First Lady Jackie Kennedy’s protective detail, as the Daily Mail notes. Landis’s revelations regarding what happened 60 years ago lay waste to one critical claim by the Warren Commission and raises questions regarding whether there was a second shooter

In one of his most ironic proclamations to date, Rob Reiner declared that “democracy” can only survive if former President Donald Trump is imprisoned and all third-party candidates are prohibited from running. Rob Reiner — who is one of Hollywood’s biggest cheerleaders for Joe Biden — made his absurd statement in a recent post to X, formerly known as Twitter. (X) Some prominent commentators have noted that Reiner’s call to prohibit all opposition candidates is fundamentally anti-democratic and would only serve to benefit Biden.

Like millions of Americans, I was at work on 9/11. I was 18 years old, employed at a water facility on Lake Michigan in Chicago. My coworkers and I gathered around a small television and watched the unthinkable unfold in real time. It was a moment when a country lost its collective innocence. A moment in which we realized things would never be the same. A moment when the promise of eternal sunrise in America looked dim. And now our group, once solely linked by vocation, had something else in common: fear. Yet despite the national emergency, there was work to be done.

To be clear, what Todd does is not journalism — it’s left-wing advocacy and commentary.
