MIAMI— Miami Mayor Francis Suarez on Tuesday suspended his bid for the presidency, dropping out of the 2024 race after failing to qualify for the first Republican debate. The two-term mayor became the first candidate to drop out of the crowded GOP field. He launched his campaign just over two months ago as one of the last competitors to join a primary race that has so far been dominated by former President Donald Trump. “While I have decided to suspend my campaign for President, my commitment to making this a better nation for every American remains,” he said in a statement.

President Joe Biden said Wednesday that it is impossible to deny the impact of climate change after Hurricane Idalia smashed into Florida and forced millions of residents to flee their homes. Idalia's torrential rain and threats of flash flooding moved through Georgia during the afternoon as emergency services in Florida battled the impact of a powerful storm surge. Coming so soon after deadly wildfires in Maui, Biden said it was a reminder of an unfolding global disaster. 'I don't think anybody can deny the impact of a climate crisis anymore,' he said at the White House. 'Just look around: Historic floods, I mean, historic floods; more intense droughts; extreme heat;

More than 100 former clerks have signed an open letter defending Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s character and integrity. Thomas has been under a withering assault on his character as both he and his wife Ginnie have run afoul of the left’s smear machine. Ginnie is a conservative lobbyist and the left has been trying to portray her influence on her husband as malignant. But it is the attack on Justice Thomas’s character and integrity that has spurred many of his former clerks to come to his defense.

Merrick Garland’s DOJ told House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan that his subpoenas for two FBI agents involved in the investigation into Hunter Biden cannot be enforced due to an ongoing investigation. Last week House Republicans subpoenaed FBI special agents Thomas Sobocinski and Ryeshia Holley to compel testimony on political interference and preferential treatment in the Hunter Biden investigation. Garland’s DOJ said the subpoenas couldn’t be enforced because Congressman Jim Jordan barred DOJ lawyers at their depositions. “The subpoenas issued by the Committee prohibit the attendance of agency counsel at appearances by two FBI employees where the Committee has indicated it will ask questions regarding information they learned

Unnamed Republican lawmakers allegedly fear “there’s no evidence” of wrongdoing against President Joe Biden to open an impeachment inquiry, Politico Playbook claimed Wednesday. Politico, which continually works to suppress the Biden family business scandal, wrote an article in its morning newsletter that suggested some Republicans are concerned about the lack of evidence against Joe Biden to open an impeachment inquiry.The publication did not cite any particular lawmakers, claiming only that they were “moderate Republicans in Biden-won districts.” Republican lawmakers are “privately fretting that there’s no evidence to back up their conservative colleagues’ accusations that the president benefited from his son’s swampy gigs,” Politico wrote.

Tucker Carlson has claimed Barack Obama was smoking crack and having sex with men - but the media failed to report it ahead of the 2008 presidential election. The former Fox News host repeated the accusation of Larry Sinclair who alleged that Obama bought and smoked cocaine before they had sex in 1999. The allegation, which emerged while then-Senator Obama was gearing up for the presidential election, was roundly condemned as an attempted political hatchet-job.But Carlson claimed Wednesday that it was 'really clear' that Obama had been having a gay affair.

A judge dismissed a lawsuit brought by six University of Wyoming Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority sisters seeking to block a trans-identifying male from joining. The sorority sisters will now be forced to accommodate Artemis Langford (whose given name is Dallin), a 6’2″, 260-pound man who believes he is a woman. Wyoming U.S. District Court Judge Alan Johnson, after hearing allegations of sexual deviancy on Langford’s part, ultimately dismissed the case on Friday and stated that redefining “woman” to include males was “Kappa Kappa Gamma’s bedrock right as a private, voluntary organization — and one this Court may not invade.” Johnson notably used Langford’s preferred she/her pronouns in his decision

Federal revenue dropped $416 billion compared to this time last year, according to recently released U.S. Treasury Department data, despite the Democrats’ passage of their $780 billion Inflation Reduction Act last year. The legislation, which President Biden signed in August 2022, contained a 15% minimum corporate income tax, which still hasn't been fully implemented by the IRS. Experts at the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and the Tax Foundation told Just the News that most of the revenue raising provisions in the IRA have not taken effect yet but they likely won't raise much revenue given the price-tag of the energy-related tax credits in the bill.
