The pair of 7-Eleven employees in California who recently thrashed and held down a suspect in their store are not in danger of facing charges. The workers took matters into their own hands when a man allegedly tried to steal cigarettes from behind the counter, Fox 11 reported Wednesday. However, the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday the employees were not in trouble. In a statement, District Attorney Ron Freitas said, “The Stockton 7-11 Store Clerks are not & have never been, suspects of the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office.” [Tweet] “Any Investigation going forward is to hold accountable the individual who threatened & attempted to rob them.

Of course, the 7-Eleven employee resisting the brazen attempt by the perpetrator (and whoever was filming him, saying that insurance would pay) to steal a garbage can full of cigarettes--probably well over $1,000 worth--delivered a very satisfying and condign beatdown. One could only wish the beating had left the perp in in the ER with various broken bones, instead of merely bruised and embarrassed. Strong armed robbery is a serious crime, and if law enforcement and the legal system won't protect retailers, they're either going to have to resort to vigilantism or close their businesses forever. Shortly after this incident took place, Gutfeld's group discussed what had happened. All five had either funny or wise things to say that evening, but the gargantuan wrestling champ Tyrus, a good, solid American with common sense and some knowledge of the streets, topped them all by warning that these brazen robbers might return to this 7-Eleven, armed, for some payback. Pray that doesn't happen. Sikhs with broomsticks and their traditional knives are no match for gang members armed like the military. The evil out there play for keeps.

I really feel empathy for the decent, honest blacks in this country. They are certainly not the problem…they are being embarrassed by a minority of criminal blacks that are unfortunately a bunch of violent thieves. Encourage a certain demographic year after year that they deserve other peoples’ property because…pick your reason…slavery, racism, white supremacy and you will get that low IQ portion of that group who feel entitled to kill and rob. It’s on the Democrats and the radical left (same thing now). They have destroyed the black family and now blame the right. Our big cities are dying and nobody will step up and tell the truth. I had a Jewish friend years ago whose father would ask when he heard of some big crime or financial scam would ask, “Was it a Jew?”. Nobody blames you Tyrus. God bless you.

Here's the Gutfeld Show and the discussion of this subject from one week ago. Again, the "You got insurance? There's nothing you can do." makes me furious. Not only the strong arm robber but his helper filming the robbery and invoking insurance deserve to have multiple body parts broken before they are put in prison for several years for being no good robbers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCxcBue3f5c

Oprah Winfrey beclowns herself on Maui 5 replies

In the Democrat tradition of never letting a crisis go to waste, Oprah Winfrey demonstrated her lack of understanding of the Aloha spirit. In Maui, she showed up at the War Memorial Stadium, an open-air structure now housing 1,000 refugees from the Lahaina fire, and passed out pillows, diapers, and other items she purchased from Costco and Walmart. That was good. What was not good was when she returned three days later with a CBS camera crew and wanted to tape the grief. To her surprise, she was turned away. Local camera crews were sitting outside the stadium, unable to go in,

Joe Biden’s swing through Arizona and New Mexico to push his climate change agenda and “Bidenomics” has not gone well so far. As we noted, he designated a new monument which is raising a lot of questions about whether this move will harm our national security. His move also helps the Russians by cutting off our ability to develop uranium deposits within the ambit of the land blocked off by the national monument. The land in question is almost a million acres, including land far away from the Grand Canyon, the area the new monument designation was supposed to protect.

As RedState reported, a Sikh convenience store owner turned the tables on a shoplifter as he attempted to get away with thousands of dollars of stolen merchandise. The viral scene unfolded in California, showing a man shoveling entire shelves worth of tobacco and other products into a trash can while taunting the owner with proclamations that “there’s nothing you can do.” The shoplifter quickly learned that wasn’t true, though, as he was tackled to the ground and beaten with a rod. [Video] Apparently, while many California cities have no desire to actually enforce the laws against people who steal from business owners and put them in financial peril,

There have been an estimated 27 billion people on earth over the course of human existence. The world's population today is approximately 8 billion, with 19 billion human beings having preceded us on our planet. Each of those lives, no matter how modest, was a miraculous affair filled with hope, joy, pain, and perhaps disappointment — but nonetheless life. Each was important, and the most important thing was, and is, liberty. Long before charters and constitutions devoted to liberty, Sophocles wrote something similar: "Numberless are the world's wonders, but none more wonderful than man" ("Ode to Man" from Antigone).

I really don’t like the President of the United States. Joe Biden has spent his life working tirelessly toward one thing more than anything else: to convince people he is a good man. He is not and never has been, as evidenced by how it took four years and political pressure from New York Times columnists to acknowledge the existence of one of his grandchildren. Now that people are beginning to notice and ask questions about things like how he got so rich, Joe has defaulted to the only defense left for him: He’s not corrupt, he’s just a horrible parent and brother.

U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika, who is handling Hunter Biden’s currently defunct plea deal, doesn’t seem too pleased. And why would she be? On Wednesday, she was presented with an absolute circus after the DOJ tried to pass off an unprecedented agreement whereby Hunter Biden would receive near global immunity. Instead of putting that in the plea deal itself, it was buried in a pre-trial diversion agreement for a gun charge. After pressing the two sides, it became clear that a wink-and-nod deal had been formulated whereby the immunity would stand, but wouldn’t be made public as part of the plea.

It appears the battle over Florida’s black history curriculum has entered into a new phase. A fiery debate was ignited over parts of the state’s educational standards on chattel slavery. Now, the discussion has continued to rage on the airwaves and interwebs. The debate centers on a line in Florida’s standards which reads: “Instruction includes how slaves developed skills which, in some cases, could be applied for their personal benefit.” Democrats in Congress are now taking a questionable step in response to Florida’s curriculum. The Congressional Black Caucus is now calling on the Biden administration to use federal power to possibly compel the state’s government to alter its standards:

Current polls, pundits, and politicos insist that the 2024 race is a sure rematch between former President Donald Trump and incumbent President Joe Biden. It may well turn out that way. But in past election cycles, summer polls 15 months before the general election usually did not mean much. In December 2003, the CBS poll headline blared, "Dean pulls away in Dem race." Howard Dean would eventually be clobbered by nominee John Kerry. In the Gallup Poll of late June 2007, Hillary Clinton still continued to enjoy her wide lead in the Democratic primary over eventual nominee and elected president Barack Obama.

It’s been a week since wildfires on Maui ravaged the island and sent residents streaming into the ocean to avoid the flames. So far, Joe Biden has “no comment” about the casualties and, presumably, he has nothing to say about the massive relief efforts that are surely underway. But are they underway? According to the Wall Street Journal, “State and federal aid is trickling into the region in the wake of the deadliest U.S. wildfire event in over 100 years.” So after a full week, aid is just “trickling in” from FEMA to deal with the destruction of most of the Western part of Maui?
