Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday told an Australian woman complaining about "too many American flags" to go back to her country in response to a video of her posted to social media. TikTok user Mia Chloe, who goes by the username @meanderwithmia, often posts about "Traveling the world on a budget & no brain cells," according to her account page. In a video posted several days ago, she called out the abundance of American flags she observed in her travels to the United States. "I'm just going to say it. There are too many American flags. They're on houses. They're on cars. Some are on couch cushions," she said.

When she says "No brain cells," she's right. Insulting the country when you're a guest is downright dumb. When she admits she doesn't know what the Australian flag looks like, she's really showing her ignorance.

I've read quite a few posts and comments from visitors from other countries mentioning the same thing. Everywhere you go there is an American flag. One person commented, "Do Americans forget what country they're in?" In no other country in the world do citizens of that country fly as many flags of their country as we do here in the U.S. Other comments by visitors mention the number of drug commercials on our tv programs, the price of items one buys does not include the sales tax, and why are there so many blacks on tv commercials and programs? They don't see that many black people while traveling around, so why are there so many on tv. They also mention the size of drinks. Do people really drink that much soda? One of my complaints about Europe is the lack of cold drinks. Don't they make ice in Europe? Drinking a warm beer or soda isn't refreshing.

In the early 1940s, there were a lot of American flags flying in Australia, as American troops defended Australia from Japanese invasion and likely take-over. More U.S. flags adorned U.S. Navy ships in the Coral Sea, just off the northeast coast of Australia, as our navy kept the sea lanes open so Australia would not be cut off from its allies.

I remember back in the 1960’s when I was in Australia and went to the movies, and when the screen opened Queen Elizabeth was depicted in a red military uniform sitting on a horse. Then everyone, including us, stood up and the National Anthem was played. As Americans at the time it was beyond comprehension for us to complain about those acts of patriotism by the Australian audience in their own country. As I remember we observed Australian flags flying all over and of course paid them due respect.

Thanks to the United States Navy I was able to visit different countries Australia being one of them. I was barely 19 years old during my first time there in Darwin. It was a great time as I meet a someone there and she took me all over the town and on many tourist sites. It was funny when my fellow sailors wondered who the cute blonde girl was that was asking for me when she came to see me onboard ship. At no time did I complain about being in her country. This lady needs to realize that it's not nice to complain about someone else's country when you are a guest. I as a veteran fly the flag proudly at my house and have a sticker on my car. I also have one in my office given to me by another vet friend of mine. I would like to tell Mia if she doesn't like our flag being displayed everywhere then she's free to travel elsewhere. I hear China's nice this time of year.

The latest indictment of former President Donald Trump is even more outlandish than Jack Smith’s blatant attempt to criminalize free speech. The indictment Monday out of Fulton County, Georgia, criminalizes mundane activities like asking for a phone number, texting, encouraging people to watch a televised hearing, and reserving a room at the Georgia capitol. These activities, according to Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis, run afoul of the state’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) statute. As far as Willis is concerned, Trump’s legal efforts to challenge the election results in Georgia amounted to a criminal conspiracy, with Trump as the criminal mastermind.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu bragged on Tuesday that the Kremlin has shown the West's military technology is not all it's chalked up to be. "The Russian army debunked many myths about the superiority of Western military standards," Shoigu said at a security conference attended by Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu. He said it was now "obvious" that NATO weaponry, modern war doctrine, and training "cannot ensure superiority on the battlefield," per a transcript posted by Russia's Defense Ministry. "In many cases, even Soviet-made equipment surpasses Western models in its combat qualities," Shoigu boasted further, though he cited no detailed information or evidence to support his claim.

When the Supreme Court denied the State of Texas’s lawsuit in December of 2020 to challenge the integrity of that year’s general election for lack of Article III standing, there already existed an overwhelming trove of evidence of procedural abnormalities and statistical anomalies that pointed to fundamental questions about the legitimacy of the election. Well over 155 million votes were allegedly cast in that year’s cycle—the most of any vote total in presidential history, surpassing 2016’s previous record-setting high by a whopping 28 million votes.

Fani Willis, the district attorney in Fulton County, Ga, charged former President Donald Trump and 18 colleagues with racketeering under Georgia's RICO law. The charge is that he conspired with them to overturn the 2020 Georgia presidential election results. Experienced lawyers, such as those at Bochetto & Lentz, a law firm that says it specializes in "messy, complicated, high-pressure, and high-stakes cases," highlight the benefits of using RICO statutes, which enable prosecutors to tie numerous crimes into one case, even if they have covered an extensive period. The person who didn't "pull the trigger, set a fire, or commit a burglary" can be charged under RICO laws.

President Biden and former President Donald Trump are now in a legal death match, where, for either one to stay out of prison, his opponent will probably go to prison. The Biden Democrats have made no secret that they are willing to do almost anything to put Mr. Trump behind bars. The necessity of locking up Mr. Trump for Mr. Biden and his family to remain free has become even more acute given the added evidence of wrongdoing by the Biden family. Mr. Biden has to be reelected to be certain that no member of his family, including himself, is convicted of any felony with prison time or, if convicted, pardoned.

Here’s what I dream of Donald Trump saying when he stands trial on bogus charges proffered by his political opponents: “I do not recognize this court’s right to try me … I do not recognize my action as a crime.” Those are the fighting words of industrialist Hank Rearden when he was put on trial for ignoring an unjust law in Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged.” Although the circumstances of the cases differ, Rearden is a perfect avatar of Donald Trump, as both larger-than-life men are persecuted by the justice system for seeking to pursue their own self-interest and for refusing to surrender to government oppression.

Joe Biden’s serial yarn that he never knew anything about his son Hunter’s quid pro quo grifting with rich foreign grandees has been finally exposed as the old lie it always was. According to the Wall Street Journal, “State and federal aid is trickling into the region in the wake of the deadliest U.S. wildfire event in over 100 years.” So after a full week, aid is just “trickling in” from FEMA to deal with the destruction of most of the Western part of Maui?
