Former Vice President Mike Pence suggested he would be willing to testify against former President Donald Trump in court if he is called upon to do so on Sunday. Pence made the comments during a Sunday appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation," telling host Margaret Brennan that he had no plans to testify against Trump voluntarily, but left the door open nevertheless. "It is a matter of public interest, Mr. Vice President, if this case comes to trial, would you be a witness against the president?" Brennan asked. "You know, I didn't want anything to do with the January 6 committee. That was a partisan committee on Capitol Hill," Pence responded.

First question, Mike was the process to certify the Electoral College votes done any differently in 2020 than in previous elections? Did the normal process of challenges (which Democrats have used numerous times in previous elections) of Electoral electors happen in 2020? If not, who changed that process and why? Why do you think the Democrats determined they should establish a statute detailing what the VP can, and can't, do during the certification process of Electoral College votes?

What is all this "if he testifies" and "if he's willing"? If the Trump team wants his testimony, they issue a subpoena. A witness can appear voluntarily or be compelled to appear, but they can't just decide they would rather not.

To those who continually grouse about PDJT’S “choosing” Pence, PDJT was presented with three choices for running mate: Pence Gingrich and Christie. Pence: Midwestern, conservative, experience as governor and representative, pledged loyalty…what could go wrong? Now we know. 20-20 hindsight. Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida has started to say it publicly: former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Former Vice President Mike Pence is more aggressively rebutting Mr. Trump’s insistence that the vice president had the constitutional authority to block the certification of President Biden’s victory. And former Gov. Chris Christie is jumping at every opportunity to lay into Mr. Trump, lambasting him as a “completely self-centered, self-possessed, self-consumed, angry old man.” The field of 2024 GOP presidential candidates is sharpening their attacks against Mr. Trump as they prepare for the race’s first debate, which is set for Aug. 23 in Milwaukee. The former president may skip the event.
