Trump’s GOP rivals increasingly take
shots at him as criminal charges pile up

Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida has started to say it publicly: former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election. Former Vice President Mike Pence is more aggressively rebutting Mr. Trump’s insistence that the vice president had the constitutional authority to block the certification of President Biden’s victory. And former Gov. Chris Christie is jumping at every opportunity to lay into Mr. Trump, lambasting him as a “completely self-centered, self-possessed, self-consumed, angry old man.” The field of 2024 GOP presidential candidates is sharpening their attacks against Mr. Trump as they prepare for the race’s first debate, which is set for Aug. 23 in Milwaukee. The former president may skip the event.

Are they standing firm against it to save the Union ? No they’re using it to help themselves. They have jumped the rails. They are acquiescing to the coup.

Hey DeSantis - Get your sell out, lying, oath breaking butt back to Florida and fulfill your duties as Governor for the next three years which you were elected to do and swore an oath on the Bible to do for four years. You are a major disappointment. Our State of Florida needs a full time governor not one who is prostituting himself to wealthy Rhinos and aligning with the Bush Traitors. Do the right thing, end this futile quest to be president in 3034 and fulfill the oath you took to be full time Governor of Florida. Now.

Special counsel Jack Smith said in a filing Thursday he is prepared to take former President Donald Trump to trial by Jan. 2 of next year over Trump's federal indictment for seeking to overturn the 2020 election. Smith estimates it will take no longer than four to six weeks to present his case to a jury in Washington, D.C., according to the filing. "This trial date ... would give the defendant time to review the discovery in this case and prepare a defense, and would allow the Court and parties to fully litigate any pre-trial legal issues," Smith's office writes in the filing. Mayor Eric Adams issued a dire warning to President Biden, cautioning that the lack of federal funding to help the migrant crisis will eventually “decimate” the Big Apple — which serves as the “economic engine” of the country. Adams slammed border states for creating a “funnel” to New York on “CBS Mornings” Thursday, saying, “New York City is the economic engine of this entire state and country. If you decimate this city, you’re going to decimate the foundation of what’s happening.” That foundation finally began to crumble earlier this month as dozens of migrants were left sleeping on the streets of Midtown outside the intake center at the Roosevelt Hotel

Special counsel Jack Smith obtained a search warrant for the Twitter account of Donald Trump as part of his criminal investigation of the former president, an appeals court decision revealed Wednesday. Twitter, now known as X, initially delayed production of the materials required by that warrant as it filed a court action seeking to block an order that it not disclose the existence of the warrant, the 34-page decision says. The ruling by the U.S. Court Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit upheld a lower-court judge's $350,000 contempt sanction on the social media company for failing to comply with the warrant until after a three-day deadline.

A previously unknown internal memo drafted by a lawyer allied with former President Donald Trump outlines a plan to overturn the 2020 election using fake slates of electors, according to a report. Still, he argued, it would focus attention on alleged voter fraud and buy the campaign time “to win litigation that would deprive Biden of electoral votes and/or add to Trump’s column,” the paper reported.
