Charles McGonigal, the former head of counterintelligence for the FBI's New York field office, is scheduled for a "plea proceeding" Aug. 5, according to a judge’s order. "The Court has been informed that Defendant Charles McGonigal may wish to enter a change of plea," the order said.

Pence made the comments during a Sunday appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation," telling host Margaret Brennan that he had no plans to testify against Trump voluntarily, but left the door open nevertheless.
"It is a matter of public interest, Mr. Vice President, if this case comes to trial, would you be a witness against the president?" Brennan asked. "You know, I didn't want anything to do with the January 6 committee. That was a partisan committee on Capitol Hill," Pence responded.
The federal judge presiding over former President Trump’s election fraud case has ordered his attorneys to respond to prosecutors’ request for a protective order by Monday, according to a court filing Saturday.
Judge Tanya Chutkan gave Trump’s attorneys a single business day to respond to special counsel Jack Smith’s request for a strict protective order which would prevent Trump from discussing case evidence in public. Smith made the request last Friday after Trump made a social media post appearing to threaten witnesses in the case.
