Special counsel Jack Smith made history on Tuesday.
It wasn't just the federal indictment of a former president. Smith already did that in June with the indictment of Donald Trump on charges that he mishandled classified documents.
No, Smith and his team have made history in the worst way by attempting to fully criminalize disinformation by seeking the incarceration for a politician on false claims made during and after an election. The hatred for Trump is so all-encompassing that legal experts on the political left have ignored the chilling implications of this indictment. This complaint is based largely on statements that are protected under the First Amendment.

The Durham report concluded that the Clinton campaign funded the now discredited Russian dossier. When is she going to be indicted?

How can you prove someone knows something? Surely, somewhere in our legal system, there is recourse to the 6 years long harassment of an ex president.

Putting politicians on the hook for "knowingly false statements" is more an old Jim Carey movie (Liar Liar) or even a Monty Python skit than a legal argument.

It sets the government and especially the DOJ on a dangerous path which could spell their own doom. American patriots will not put up with this moronic dictatorship for long.

By reading the Headline you might think that Turley has something sensical to say. He goes on: "Will Trump run again? If Trump cares about America and its greatness, he must leave politics. Permanently." Yeah, that will fix it. Or this one: "Let's acknowledge that Trump was wrong. The election wasn't stolen. He lost, and Joe Biden won." Oh really? It is now proven beyond any doubt that the fraud found in at least 5 states would have made Trump the winner.

Re #7 - This is why attorneys do not make great leaders of any stripe. The election of 2020 was NEVER investigated by any state or federal authority so how can anyone claim it was without any illegalities? And yet, how much tax payer dollars, time, etc was spent on Trump Russian Collusion and Trump was innocent.

And so, just WHO determines what is TRUE?
When the media throws out multiple "BS 'facts'" which are nothing more than propaganda and innuendo parading around as FACT when it is nothing more than a purposeful political MISINFORMATION ploy in order to fool U.S. what should we make of it when it REALLY IS BS?
We have been shouted down when calling out these MISREPRESENTATIONS by a media that BURIES any effort to FIND the TRUTH. Like the little boy searching through piles and piles of horse crap hoping that somehow he will actually find a horse, we have allowed ourselves to be manipulated with untruths....
All the doomsayers about "only five years, ten years, ad infiintum" that we are all going to DIE from global warming, climate change, etc. we are still HERE.
Now we have pressure to bend to not believe FACTS by some daily or weekly diversion in which we cannot reasonably look at the corruption right before our eyes! The hysteria driven by the media to CREATE a shiny object to focus on TOTALLY disregarding every other news story-- the tiny submarine comes to mind as to how we were finally told it imploded soon after submerging is just one example.
Now it is apparent the the Vegetable has been lying about his business relationship of his beloved son Hunter using his father to secure business deals with foreign governments, and getting what amounted to a PARDON from all crimes committed or yet to be discovered!
Whether you liked or disliked President Trump, trying to BURY HIM from contending for the Republican nomination for President by attempting to OVERWHELM him with multiple lawllsuits in the federal court system with spurrious and vague charges shows U.S. not to "go there" or reasonably question this effort because we are to be taught a lesson NOT to interfere with this lawsuit coup,-- we certainly are not billionaires who could survive!
This effort at "lawfare" has been exposed by Jim Jordan showing how government agencies have been weaponized and punishing those who would stand for integrity.... the politicians in DC are more afraid of losing their seats on the gravy train than to support the exposing of the corruption, and that makes things worse.
Congressional oversight be damned!

I predict Jack Smith will lose his ability to practice law in this country before this is over. He has a stellar record of being overturned and even slammed 8-0 by the Supreme Court of the U.S., which is no small feat. He isn't a lawyer, he's a Dem hitman in a cheap suit.

Well you could easily say that Biden knowingly made a series of false statements in the 2020 presidential debate directly to the American people accusing Trump of various false misdeeds and to cover up the Biden family corrupt bribery and influence criminal conspiracies, and the Clinton created Russia, Russia, Russia fraudulent scam that cost the US Government tens of millions of taxpayers dollars, with the clear motive of misleading as many American voters as possible to change their prospective votes in the upcoming presidential election from Trump to Biden maybe even being a determinant factor in the outcome of the 2020 election, an elementary and very important function of government. So why hasn’t Biden, who gained the presidency fraudulently, been impeached by the wimpy congressional Republicans or indicted by the Department of Justice?

A knowingly false statement Bernie Madoff telling his "investors" they are making money when he has not even invested in any stocks or other products. He was just paying them out of more money coming in, a classic Ponzi scheme. HIs documents proved it was a lie and his employees backed up that they made fake investment statements. Where is the proof that Trump was lying? Has he ever said he didn't believe he won the election? Various people telling him there was no fraud doesn't prove what Trump (and many other people) believe or show intent to deceive.

Trump used his free speech. IMO, he said nothing that wasn't true.
But truth or falsehood is absolutely irrelevant. Period.
FREEDOM OF SPEECH means you cannot criminalize what someone says.
And Traitor Joe has pumped out hundreds and hundreds of knowingly false claims that he didn't work with his junkie son on taking bribes.
And the statements are the least of the fact that he TOOK BRIBES, for years, tens of millions from foreign businesses and governments.

So the author says claims about voting machines that allocated Trump votes to Biden were false. OK....
...bring up the audits of those machines. This being such an important issue, doubtless hundreds or thousands of those machines were investigated, audited, tested... and not just once.
Or were they?
