What Would a ‘Legitimate’ Biden Victory
Look Like to Republicans?

Now that Donald Trump has been indicted for using lies about the 2020 presidential election to seek to overturn its results, it’s become a matter of grave national concern that big majorities of Republicans apparently don’t think he was lying at all. A new CNN survey shows that 69 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents do not believe “Joe Biden legitimately won enough votes to win the presidency” in 2020. It’s worth asking what if anything might have convinced them to believe Biden’s win was legitimate, if only to establish what could happen differently in 2024 to avoid another contested Democratic win — if not an attack on the Capitol.

Comments:

What a bunch of unmitigated leftist claptrap! Among other Dim talking points, Kilgore recites the oft-repeated lie that "the many anecdote-based allegations of fraudulent voting and vote-counting that were uniformly exploded by the federal and state judges." In fact, not one of those cases made such a determination. All were dismissed on procedural grounds.

Kilgore is really an idiot, or is dishonest, or is so partisan that he can't comprehend the truth -- or all of the above. What it would take for Republicans to see 2020 as valid would have been for no data dump at one time after closing down counting for a time in many states, no dishonesty in democrat cities with democrat controlled county centers where Republican poll watchers were denied the right to watch the process of votes being counted; where after the fact investigations of voting machines and their connection to the internet didn't expose significant data manipulation etc etc etc. Kilgore is just pushing democrat talking points -- and lies.

Herel are a few suggestions: Purge all voting rolls of people who have moved, died, been imprisoned, are non-citizens, or are otherwise ineligible to vote. Require voters to present at the polls an official photo ID to prove they are who they claim to be. Eliminate vote harvesting. Eliminate drop boxes for ballot collection. Eliminate absentee voting except for legitmate reasons that have been verified. Eliminate any voting machines that do not use a paper ballot input (i.e. no more touch screen voting that cannot be effectively audited. Disqualify any ballots that mysteriously appear long after the polls have closed. Restore election tabulation practices that have historically produced a winner within 24 hours after the polls close. Then the American people can have more faith in their elections. Let's forget about all the changes the Left made using the COVID panic as a cover and an excuse.

What will convince us? Trump himself has given the three point formula 1. In person one day voting 2. Paper ballots 3. Voter IDs Not a single Democrat will be elected. THEN we will know.

ALL ballots have to be in on election day. No more ballots coming in when results are already known. There must be a definitive cut-off point. No ballots "found" after the vote count has been announced will be added to the total. No more vote by mail. The Post Office cannot control their mail deliveries and have already started warning people in some places to not mail checks for paying bills. If you cannot trust them to mail a check, you cannot trust them to mail a ballot.

All the cases of fraud were dismissed before evidence could be collected and presented and before the election was certified by Pence. The amount of evidence of fraud has only grown since 2020.

Well, if he'd won before the end of the voting day that would have helped. But a supposed 41 Million votes, found in the middle of the night and ALL for Biden, no, not possible.

A QUESTION; Re: "Worse yet, there are Republicans (some of them call themselves “constitutional conservatives”) who think their preferred governing policies (e.g., free markets, low taxes, gun rights and fetal rights) came down on stone tablets from the Founders as guided by God Almighty, and should not be subject to modification by mere voters. This deeply anti-democratic strain of thinking (in that case as applied to the “right” to buy, sell and own slaves) is precisely what produced secession and then Civil War in the nineteenth century." Does this writer seem to imply that it was the Republicans who wanted "the “right” to buy, sell and own slaves)? What drivele!!

#3's list is a good starting point. I would suggest adding: -Having the paper ballot vote counting to be clearly visible to observers from all candidates. No more covering up the windows and counting votes in secret. -No more vote totals transferred strictly by computers, either online or via memory stick. Announce and post the vote totals at each polling place, and openly transfer and post the totals at each point in the accumulation process, so that the whole process can be clearly observed by all interested parties. -Have a durable written record of the complete chain of custody, so that the vote numbers can be checked by all interested parties, from beginning to end.

When Joe Biden tapped Kamala Harris to be his running mate in 2020, it was perhaps the most easily predicted vice presidential choice in recent memory. Biden had made it clear that after emerging from the most diverse Democratic presidential candidate field in history, he would select a woman to join him on the ticket. The dynamics of the Democratic Party, which relies heavily on the votes of African American women to win elections, made it seem likely that Biden would select a running mate from this demographic group, especially as the murder of George Floyd brought race issues to the top of the public agenda.

There is a reason Donald Trump seems so desperate to hang on to his position as president of the United States. Over the weekend he reportedly talked with attorney Sidney Powell and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn about trying to impose martial law in states he lost in order to hold new elections in the hopes that he could remain president. (Fortunately, the U.S. Army issued a statement publicly challenging the commander-in-chief.) The reason for Trump’s seemingly erratic behavior is obvious, at least to us: Donald Trump knows that he may be arrested not long after Joe Biden is sworn in at about noon on Jan. 20, 2021.

At least 70% of Republican voters still believe Joe Biden’s win was illegitimate, according to a recent poll this week by far-left CNN. NBC is reporting — with a supposed sense of shock — the results of a Monmouth poll that nearly one-third of Americans think the 2020 presidential election was rigged. And they further reiterate that there is no evidence for fraud. There's no evidence widespread fraud affected the outcome of the 2020 election, but Trump and allies have spent years undercutting the election's legitimacy. Wow! It must be so. The main stream media assure us that the election was honest. Yet one third of Americans still believe the election was a fraud. I am shocked, shocked.
