Now that Donald Trump has been indicted for using lies about the 2020 presidential election to seek to overturn its results, it’s become a matter of grave national concern that big majorities of Republicans apparently don’t think he was lying at all. A new CNN survey shows that 69 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents do not believe “Joe Biden legitimately won enough votes to win the presidency” in 2020. It’s worth asking what if anything might have convinced them to believe Biden’s win was legitimate, if only to establish what could happen differently in 2024 to avoid another contested Democratic win — if not an attack on the Capitol.

We’ve reported this week on how White House press secretary Jen Psaki has been asked multiple times about various aspects of the story that broke Monday about the Supreme Court leak regarding the draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito in which he declared “We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled.”
On Wednesday, Psaki gave a very troubling answer when questioned on whether the Biden White House would view a majority opinion overturning Roe v. Wade as a “legitimate” ruling.

There is a reason Donald Trump seems so desperate to hang on to his position as president of the United States. Over the weekend he reportedly talked with attorney Sidney Powell and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn about trying to impose martial law in states he lost in order to hold new elections in the hopes that he could remain president. (Fortunately, the U.S. Army issued a statement publicly challenging the commander-in-chief.)

NBC is reporting — with a supposed sense of shock — the results of a Monmouth poll that nearly one-third of Americans think the 2020 presidential election was rigged.
And they further reiterate that there is no evidence for fraud.

At a town hall in New Hampshire, Ron DeSantis was asked how he will respond when Trump starts belittling him and name-calling in personal attacks on the debate stage. His answer was a glimmer that the Ron DeSantis we’ve been waiting to show up on the campaign trail is still there.

Among other Dim talking points, Kilgore recites the oft-repeated lie that "the many anecdote-based allegations of fraudulent voting and vote-counting that were uniformly exploded by the federal and state judges."
