When a handful of Democrats introduced a bill to impose a progressive wealth tax on millionaires and billionaires, they didn’t just say that income inequality was bad. They called it a threat to democracy. (snip) Election laws designed to mitigate fraud are threats to democracy. “Misinformation” – defined as anything the left doesn’t like to hear – is a threat to democracy. Recent Supreme Court rulings are a threat to democracy. The prevalence of guns is a threat to democracy. Climate change is a threat to democracy. Perhaps if status quo establishment Republicans were more principled and not united by their reflexive contempt of Trump, his supporters and their contempt for government and the political class, they would give a damn. But they aren’t, so they stay silent or express just enough faux outrage to make a record.

These leftists are right that billionaires (like Bill and Melinda Gates, George Soros and Mark Zuckerberg) are threats to our republic, but primarily for advocating far-left totalitarian policies and tactics, and funding the campaigns of far leftists who ignore our Constitution and laws. Having made that statement, confiscating their wealth is not the answer.

Simpleton talking points used to sway simpletons. Given that "IQ" has an average, we must accept that there is a number of simpletons. Intelligence-wise, education-wise, emotion-wise, character-wise, etc. And they vote.

The Democrat Party is the ONLY "Democracy" in our country, so destroying "Democracy" is a good thing. We have been and still are a representative REPUBLIC, and democracy is an evil form of mass chaos that our Founding Fathers carefully, and actively shunned. Democracy has nothing whatsoever to do with our form of government. "Threat to Democracy" --- they say that as if it is a bad thing. I see it as a great good.

Of course, they ignore the fact (or are so ignorant that they don't know) that we live not in a democracy but in a republic. I believe it was Ben Franklin that, when asked about the form of government the founders had created, said, "A republic if we can keep it." And it's beginning to look like we can't. The Dims are making war on it and having too much success. The people must rise up and vote so overwhelmingly against the evil Demonrats that they can't manufacture enough votes to keep their minions in office. Throw the rascals out! All of them! Former President Barack Obama once wrote that he fantasized about having sexual relations with other men, biographer David Garrow said in an interview published on Wednesday. The former president expressed his fantasies in a letter to a girlfriend at the time, Garrow told Tablet magazine in the interview. That letter has been redacted and is currently in the possession of Emory University, according to Garrow. The ex-girlfriend provided a copy of the letter, but had redacted one paragraph, Garrow told Tablet, who said she revealed the paragraph was about “homosexuality.”

First son Hunter Biden’s former business partner Devon Archer told lawmakers this week that Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings brought the political scion onto its board so that “people would be intimidated to mess with them … legally.” Archer also revealed that then-Vice President Joe Biden met twice with his son’s shady post-Soviet business partners at DC’s Café Milano, not once as previously reported, according to the transcript of a four-hour deposition released Thursday by the House Oversight Committee. These and other revelations blow new holes in President Biden’s claim that he never discussed business with his now-53-year-old son — as House Republicans move closer to launching an impeachment inquiry.

Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s best friend in business, partially corroborated prior IRS whistleblower testimony about the means by which Hunter Biden evaded paying taxes on money received from Burisma Holdings. As Breitbart News reported, the IRS whistleblower alleged Hunter Biden received the money from Burisma through a Chinese firm run by the Biden family business. Instead of reporting the money as income and paying taxes, the Chinese firm, operated by the Biden family business, allegedly loaned the money to Hunter Biden.

Joe Biden attended a dinner with Burisma executive Vadim Pozharskyi at Cafe Milano in Washington D.C. around April 2015 to talk about the World Food Programme, Archer testified Monday. “[T]urn your attention now to spring of 2015, dinner at Cafe Milano, where I believe Vice President Biden attended as well. Can you tell us about that dinner? Who was there?” the committee asked Archer. “Yes, Vice President Biden did attend,” Archer said.

How do you tell Hunter Biden’s lawyers apart from his prosecutors? That was the confusing question that Judge Maryellen Noreika had to grapple with while unpacking a plea deal in which prosecutors buried an agreement that gave Hunter immunity from prosecution that had been written to avoid judicial scrutiny. Why would prosecutors write a plea deal for Hunter that one of them admitted to Judge Noreika had no precedent? The rejected plea deal was unprecedented because prosecutors and defense attorneys were unprecedentedly working for the same team. But that’s what happens when the Justice Department pretends to be investigating the president’s son with his dad’s reelection on the line.

Special counsel Jack Smith made history on Tuesday. It wasn't just the federal indictment of a former president. Smith already did that in June with the indictment of Donald Trump on charges that he mishandled classified documents. No, Smith and his team have made history in the worst way by attempting to fully criminalize disinformation by seeking the incarceration for a politician on false claims made during and after an election. The hatred for Trump is so all-encompassing that legal experts on the political left have ignored the chilling implications of this indictment. This complaint is based largely on statements that are protected under the First Amendment.

So a Democratic Party operative has once again indicted Donald Trump on transparently foolish grounds. The result of the Democrats’ seeming obsession with Trump is that he continues to dominate headlines and suck up oxygen nearly three years after he lost the presidential race in 2020. This is truly extraordinary. Did Jimmy Carter dominate headlines in 1983, years after he was thrashed by Ronald Reagan? Was Walter Mondale a fixture in the press in 1987, after being clobbered by Reagan in 1984? Were the papers full of commentary on Michael Dukakis in 1991, three years after he was obliterated by George H.W. Bush? How about John McCain and Mitt Romney?

Now that Donald Trump has been indicted for using lies about the 2020 presidential election to seek to overturn its results, it’s become a matter of grave national concern that big majorities of Republicans apparently don’t think he was lying at all. A new CNN survey shows that 69 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents do not believe “Joe Biden legitimately won enough votes to win the presidency” in 2020. It’s worth asking what if anything might have convinced them to believe Biden’s win was legitimate, if only to establish what could happen differently in 2024 to avoid another contested Democratic win — if not an attack on the Capitol.
