The special counsel investigating Donald Trump for mishandling classified documents and alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election has cost U.S. taxpayers over $10million so far - including $2million in security.
Jack Smith was appointed on November 18, and now has a team of 40 to 60 prosecutors, paralegals and support staff working to investigate the former president.
On June 8, Smith charged Trump with 37 counts relating to the documents illegally stored at Mar-a-Lago. He is expected to soon bring charges in connection to allegations of interfering in the 2020 election.

This guy thinks he's so important that anyone would bother to kill him? And make him a martyr?

I don't believe he would ever become a martyr even if he was killed.
Scum will always remain scum.

He can multiply his security by ten but there is no place he can hide. The man is as dirty as it gets and the people who hired him dwell in the same sewer. MAGA

Yet the DOJ can't find a reason to give security to Supreme Court Justices who have had actual and continued threats made against their lives and their families lives.

So, has this persecutor done something untoward to warrant the extravagant security costs to protect him and his family?
Is this a normal occurrence for AGs?
Do all US attorneys general receive this?

The female reporter who first had the laptop story for the NY Post is in much more danger and she openly laughed at the CIA. I doubt that she has $2mil security. Jack Smith looks like a pansy beside her.

Money may protect him in this life, but if he is authoring an unlawful prosecution of Trump (aka persecution), it won't save him in the next.

You mean we the taxpayers have racked up this cost. These people should be made to issue massive refunds in fines and costs for this and everything else they've done against US and at our expense. This is a travesty! and they should all be sent to special prisons set up just for them. There's nothing our elected officials can do to stop any of it, or so it appears. Why are they in office collecting salaries if travesties of this type keep happening with little to no consequences? Yet, the real thief (or beneficiary) of the 2020 election gets rewarded with the presidency and gets away with bribery, lying, cheating, and everything else they've done. What a freakin' world!

So ho are these alleged threats being made? Who here has his phone number, work or home address, email address, etc? I doubt any of this information is easily accessible. What a joke!

I saw a clip of CNN's own presstitute and Trump hater Dana Bashed go ga-ga over the fact that Jack Smith went to Subway for lunch. I was drinking coffee at the time and nearly spit it out from laughing so hard. It must have been the Smollett extra foot long special extra mayo and onions. Seriously though Conservatives don't give a rip about that dirtbag Smith or his family. We're too busy working to support our own families to care. So just like CNN's Bash reporting on Smiths fast food like it's breaking news. I'm calling BS on any threats made to him.

You can't top that for aggressive prosecution.

And I rather imagine those 'threats' are in his imagination.
Fake threats are the province of the left, trying to get sympathy and create drama. And serious dangers don't make threats.

IF the corrupt JD had anything on Trump they would have prosecuted Trump years ago… they’ve been investigating him since he walked down the escalator….the corrupt JD has spent millions in taxpayer $$$$ to destroy Trump!!

A cornered rat understands that at some point Smith would be a perfect false flag casualty for the left. Then the media mill would blame anyone who isn't a fan of the new 1984 world they created for us.
