On Saturday, trying to do the right thing led to Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas being put in handcuffs and briefly detained.
The incident happened at the White Deer Rodeo in the town of White Deer about 40 miles from Amarillo, according to the Texas Tribune.
A statement from Jackson’s office said he was attending the rodeo when he was “summoned by someone in the crowd to assist a 15-year-old girl who was having a medical emergency nearby.”
The statement that Jackson, who was a White House doctor for former President Barack Obama, was informed by a relative that the girl needed help in addition to the assistance being provided because

Po po are just out of control these days. They’re more Gestapo than peace officers. It’s a rodeo not downtown Houston.

Yes, let's hope there are few Knotseez in law enforcement.

How stupid. Officers storm in like they are raiding the mafia, instead of asking what was going on? The sheriff and officers should be fired. I suspect these attitudes have happened in other situations.

Idjits...they should be damn glad it was Congressman R. Jackson,MD, instead of St Fauci, had it been THAT Doctor, they would be gulag bound for sure and for certain. EVERY Dem in congress would be giving floor speeches, posting poutraged fund raising pleas, and booking flights to protest in front of the Sheriffs office.

When all the good cops are defunded out, all you have left are those who will do whatever the big office tells them to. Just wait till the revolution starts. I hope the retired ones are still on the side of the people.

I've seen these kinds of officers in action before. In one sense, considering the very public anti police media, it's no wonder these officers were on edge. In another sense, there are more than a few officers everywhere with a god like mentality with the mind set of we can do anything we want and there's nothing you can do about it because we have a badge attitude. The shortage of officers no matter how many complaints received guarantees these people will not only not be disciplined but won't be removed from the position.

Sorry for the second post but I looked where White Deer is in Texas. It’s a very small town about 40 miles nw of Amarillo with nothing but fields in between and a population of 874. Probably not a hotbed of criminal activity.

Please excuse the second post. Reminder to bad cops —- if you are ordered to go on a door to door roundup, millions of patriotic Americans are willing to take one for team.

Sounds like a $10 per hour 'security guard' who needs to be retrained at minimum, and fired and never work again as any sort of a "law enforcement" again.
What an idiot.

Try that in a small town. Oh, that's right. They did. They will take a lot of gruff at the local cafe for years to come.

Each situation has to be assessed. I would love to give LEOs my full support but incidents like this as well as my own , make me reticent to automatically support he blue.
Where are we getting these cops from?

I’ve been to White Deer. It’s on the way to Pampa from Amarillo. Nice small agricultural/ranching community. Heads will probably roll over this. Hard to argue with some cops…even in podunk Texas.

This is what happens when police departments nationwide willfully dumb down the application process. I have former acquaintances whose spouses tried to apply to their local departments, but the hiring boards told them that they were actually too intelligent and would ask too many questions of the leadership. That was about 20 years or so ago so I imagine it is much worse now.

At first blush, pretty dumb deputies in that off the beaten track town.

My first thought was, Congressman Ronny should sue the pants off of these scum bag cops and I was part of the
police world for 2 decades in CA. There was no reason for this kind of behavior!

Did someone call SWAT? Why in the world are these people acting this way? If EMTs arrive on scene and a licensed Medical Doctor is already providing assistance to the victim, then the EMTs can provide assistance. It's not that complicated. Everyone wants to get the patient to the hospital for evaluation. Medical Triage is NOT a "reality TV" style competition. Dr. Jackson is due many apologies and an official thanks.
