For all you Trump haters
popping champagne over this dubious indictment,
here's exactly why it may collapse

I can imagine the sound of champagne bottles popping from Martha's Vineyard to Washington D.C., as President Donald Trump's haters celebrate this third, historic federal indictment. If only they were able to drop their partisan blinders and see the grave damage this legal lunacy is doing to our country! On Tuesday, U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith revealed felony charges against the former president for allegedly subverting the will of the American people and attempting to overturn the results of an election. Yes, Trump's behavior following his 2020 loss was wrong. But was it criminal? Not on the basis of what I've seen thus far.

What the cork poppers don't understand is if this can be done to an ex president, a very wealthy man, and gotten away with, they could be next. If Senators and congresscritters think it can't happen to them, well just wait and see.

One lawyer commenting today on the indictment said that "They didn't use the whole wording of the statute that they are charging Trump with. The first few words of the 1900 statute say "When in disguise and on the highway, if any person......".
And the indictment starts with "...if any person...." omitting the leading REQUIREMENT to be "in disguise and on the highway" for the statute.
The whole thing is pure horse manure.

Trump's acts after the 2020 election were neither criminal or wrong. It is right to protest an election stolen from you by a crooked Democrat Party. Trump is the hardest working man in the country, and we are supposed to believe a nursing home patient, sitting in his basement, got 80 million votes.

Hillary funded a fake Russian dossier to influence an election. Nothing like a double standard.

Imagine their surprise when they find out that most of the American people are solidly behind Donald Trump, even if some may not like him. This is third-world level behavior and they are messing with a powder keg.

It won't collapse. They have all their minions in place to do whatever they decide to do with Trump. They don't care about the rule of law; they are a law unto themselves. They do whatever they want to whomever, whenever, and by any means necessary. They're freakin communists.

I've got news for leftists.
To NOT question the results of the 2020 election would be a criminal act.
They should be indicting themselves.

And if the attending Judge within this case were truly HONEST, (even to herself), she would throw this partisan case out of her court before it is thrown out at the Supreme Court!!!

FTA: “ Yes, Trump's behavior following his 2020 loss was wrong.”
No, it was not wrong. It was a normal response to having an election stolen by the corrupt and lawless democrat party. Anyone looking at the evidence we all saw on video, let’s call them anomalies, it was clear to any rational person that something went very wrong when it was evident that President Trump was well on his way to victory and then those five states stopped counting. We saw ballot dumps almost entirely in favor of Biden, the Atlanta fiasco of suitcases filled with ballots being pulled from under tables and put through tabulation machines several times, truck drivers moving truck loads of ballots from one state to another, how do you reconcile this without a serious investigation?
Democrats and many Republicans wanted this election to be rubber stamped and that is exactly what happened. Because we were shouted down and called conspiracy theorists, Joe Biden sits behind the Resolute Desk and has destroyed the country. Democrats won nothing but with the help of their friends across the aisle and the corrupt media, they perpetuated a fraud against the American people. They stole our most basic right to choose the President who would lead us. I cannot abide these fools who proclaim there was no fraud and Joe Biden won with 81 million votes. Poppycock! Then to declare President Trump had no right to question it, is beyond the pale.
Dershowitz loves to be a contrarian, but make no mistake, his allegiance is to the democrat party. I appreciate his legal opinion but he will never admit that his party perpetrated the worst fraud in the history of this country on the American people when they stole what they could not win.

“Trump’s behavior following his 2020 loss was wrong”..Wrong on two counts Prof. It was not wrong and he did not lose. If you believe what you wrote then you have not understood the ‘fundas’ of what is going on.

Dersho, so how can you live with yourself by always voting dim then? You have seen the light and now intend to vote for Trump in 2024? Yeah, I know. Can't teach an old dog new tricks, right?

It is truly amazing to me that someone like the Dersh (and others as well) writes an article like this, as if there is still a rule of law in this country; as if there is a government that gives a rat's butt about the United States Constitution. He is a brilliant constitutional lawyer, although a total moron for voting for Obama, Hillary and Biden. He writes as a bona fide law professor that thinks his opinion matters.
It matters not a whit. The installed reincarnated Obama regime cares nothing for the law, the Constitution or America. They care only about ensuring a complete totalitarian takeover of our country. Their shockingly brazen actions, almost comical, signal their intent and their philosophy of "By Any Means Necessary." Without a complete eradication of their dangerous and sickening reign, our Republic will never survive its founding principles. And the only person on God's earth that can start that eradication is Donald J. Trump and therefore he must be destroyed, By Any Means Necessary.

These people don't give a s about the damage to the country. In fact, this is precisely why they're doing it. They want to destroy this country as founded. They want a socialist/communist state. That's their goal, and I wish these pundits would stop acting like the people behind all of this get Trump, climate change, and every other leftist brain-dead cause are patriotic and want to abide by the Constitution.

Like Pedo Joe says, "you need an F16 to take on the US government."
Maybe so, but I doubt that many of the Marxist Democrat ringleaders get 24/7 security coverage and bodyguards, including protection for them and their family at home.
And they would be easy targets.

Who closed down the vote counting middle of the night then continued counting...counted truck loads of ballots delivered from ballot drop boxes...Next election American Patriots should take turns guarding all drop boxes...exercising their second amendment rights legally while doing so...The steal was massive...organized and they must try to pretend it wasn't...Who are all these people invading our southern border going to vote for...Mike Pence...who was a coward when he had the chance to do something but talks the tough guy now?

Here's the rub...by law they must prove intent...and in disguise...so there isn't a chance that this will fly....except...they have a very friendly judge who is compromised...a true hater of President Trump...soooo... his chances of a fair judgment is not likely...but there's always the Appellate and the Supreme Court....

don't agree that trumps conduct was wrong in the slightest. Whenever Fresh I sits strays from his areas of expertise - ie the Constitution of the law I am inevitably turned off. Every time he reminds us that his former buds in the Vineyard now hate him- I want to scream.

No, Trump's behavior was not wrong. "In your face", categoric, and to the point, YES. But he (and millions of others) SAW what the incoming people were like, and KNEW what to expect of them. Trump and MAGA actions against the Dems were alternately both defensive and pre-emptive, but most people, and certainly the media, wrere too hung up on the visuals to see what was really happening.
Jack Smith is a sacrifice play. They know it's going nowhere, but it will take 2-3 years to resolve, and meanwhile the election will pass, and the Dems hope everyone will collapse into a sobbing heap, and Smith will have earned his stripes with the Dems (and probably a few mill in his bank account), and the world will go on. KEEP THE PRESSURE ON, and act like the Dems arre just fools and criminals from this point onward.

I believe Dershowitz is a secret Trump supporter but can't show or say it because he wants the Martha Vineyard's approval and friendship. It's a hard place to be for Alan. A legal beagle, knowing and loving the law, but wanting to fit in with the Trump hating crowd. The two worlds can't co-exist and at some point Dershowitz is going to have to pick one side.

Attorney Dershowitz warns that degrading this country’s justice system to punish a former president and current candidate pushes this country “closer to tribalism, chaos and collapse.” He goes on to state that none of the current three unsettled indictments against President Trump have met appropriate standards. Regarding the 2020 election result, the alleged intention by President Trump to subvert the will of the people would require the government proving “beyond a reasonable doubt” that President Trump “actually knew and believed that he had lost the election fair and square” and he doubts the government can prove that.
