CNN obtained the audio recording of a 2021 meeting in which former President Donald Trump discussed having secret documents he did not declassify.
The network ran the audio on Anderson Cooper 360. In it, Trump seemed to be showing the confidential documents to others in the room, as they had a discussion about Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Portions of the audio are cited in the federal indictment of Trump over his withholding of classified documents after he left the White House. In the conversation, reportedly with the writers of Mark Meadows autobiography, Trump referred to the document and that it remained classified.

Entirely irrelevant.
ANYTHING that he chose to disclose, to ANYONE, for any reason whatsoever is 100% within the President's authirity. That he retained ANY documents is also his choice, which cannot be questioned or overruled by any other person, whatsoever.
No other person has this authority.

No one bother asking how CNN obtained this audio or better still who recorded it? In the State where I live, recording a presumed private conversation without consent is a crime.

Could it be one of those fake recordings I've been reading about. There is also fake video of the 'riot' on January 6. What they claim is the riot did not happen. I watched from start to finish. There was no riot.

The FBI and/or the CIA gave the recording to CNN, which is one of their channels.

He sounds like a great guy. Smart, personable, funny. Are they really gonna try and indict him with this?? Oh, wait. Most people are not supposed to actually hear this. Smith, et.al. was planning to *characterize* what's on here and print snippets for the public.

So the Special Counsel Jack Smith can leak anything he wants. Why is he not brought before Garland and dismissed for misconduct? Because this trial is a political show trial that Stalin would be proud of.

Where are the documents? Fact is, they didn't find the supposed "classified" documents, and without the documents they have nothing.

How come CNN is so quick to publish Anti Trump material whose provernance as to how it came into their hnds is at least extremely suspicious, but refused to publish any of the Hunter Biden computer material pre the last POTUS election on the grounds that it was "stolen" material or otherwise ilegally obtained?

The ever corrupt Special Counsel leaks like a sieve, but then demands Trump and his legal team be muzzled. Shades of the Cold War East German Stasi and Courts.

Trump talked about classified documents. It doesn't mean he was showing them. It's audio, not video.

The media colludes with Washington to manipulate and influence the voting public. That's what I got out of this BS headline. The media has no credibility. Neither does our government. But people will fall for it anyway.

Who cares. Trump was president. He could take any damn thing he wanted and declassify any document he wanted to. Every president has the same ability. Does anyone think Clinton, Bush, or Obozo doesn't have classified documents hidden away? Biteme had classified documents in his garage and in several other locations none of which were hidden away, and as Vice President, he had no authority to have them.

You can make ANYTHING possible if something is taken out of context.
I remember a spoof recording on a 45-sized record from the early 70;s which edited a statement President Nixon denying involvement in Watergate. In it, the tape had been edited and re-recorded to take out words to the contrary like "not" and so on.
The result was that it came across like "I did (not edited out) authorize it" to come out as "I did authorize it". There is much pertinent information that could be taken in full context if allowed to be taken as a whole.
Discussions and "what if" scenarios have taken place for ages-- President Kennedy made a point of having his staff members read Barbara Tuchman's "The Guns of August", which detailed the miscalculations and misunderstandings of these kinds of "what if" scenarios that led to World War I.
History DID NOT play out as the war gamers had sketched it out, and this is going to be a similar result. No matter what the TRUTH of anything is regarding President Trump, the media, the alphabet agencies, and the legal weaponized government currently in place will accept nothing getting in the way of their attempts to "Get Trump"-- they have been exposed and need to cover up their own LIES and CORRUPTION from being fully exposed!

#1, Correct! However, the media counts on the ignorance of its viewers. Do you think they know anything about the power of the Executive Branch?
“In it, Trump seemed to be showing the confidential documents to others in the room, as they had a discussion about Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.” Seemed?! Well now, isn’t that special? We are going to speculate now as to what happened? The media, as ever, is trying President Trump in the court of public opinion. Remember the mantra, it is not the nature of the evidence, but the seriousness of the charges. Another democrat lie to confuse and obfuscate.

As a matter of law, this cannot be entered into evidence because the DOJ does not have the documents.

Adam Schiff based a $30 million "quid pro quo" circus on proof he said he had and they were ready to hang Trump until it was time to show the evidence, then it was, "Sorry, the dog ate it." If there is one word that Donald Trump is tired of hearing, it's "Gotcha!"
