Those Who Oppose Capitalism Are The Enemies
Of Freedom

By now, much of the country has heard or read about the City University of New York law school graduate who was allowed to unspool a spiteful tirade as the school’s commencement speaker. She made a number of vile statements, but her call to “fight against capitalism” stood out to us. She and her fellow travelers know what few casual observers are aware of, that is, an attack on capitalism is an attack on liberty. Condemning capitalism is nothing new in this country. We’ve heard the angry criticisms all of our lives, and they weren’t novel when we were young.

Many younger people who rail against capitalism are actually against crony capitalism or corporatism. I would agree the latter are a real problem. Anyone who truly is against trading value for value at the individual level is, indeed, against freedom. They are cordially invited to self-deport to a country more to their liking.

"One of the methods used by statists to destroy capitalism consists in establishing controls that tie a given industry hand and foot, making it unable to solve its problems, then declaring that freedom has failed and stronger controls are necessary." --Ayn Rand There is more than one way for government to insert itself between citizens attempting to freely exchange capital. There's the direct communist or socialist approach or the less direct fascist crony capitalism approach. The outcome is largely the same.

There was a Socialist candidate for WV state delegate in 2018 who said," I’m not talking about just making capitalism more equitable. I’m talking about the abolition of capitalism." He lost. In 2022 he ran as a Democrat and was elected. Earlier this year he switched to the Republican party and they welcomed him with open arms.

Yes, I have known this since I was 16 or so. Anti-capitalists are all total fools, but many are doing it as an effort at becoming a dictator, local or national. All those people out there making millions of individual decisions.....offends them greatly. These pukes are absolutely convinced that they are FAR smarter than "all those people" and that things would run SO much better if only THEY were in charge of everything. Two classes of humans - those who desire to control other human's lives, and those who have no such desire. Anticapitalists want to CONTROL people. This is a dangerous, evil dysfunction which must be stopped whenever it is found.

Some of the best advice ever given was from Mark Twain, who said “it’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt.” We’re not saying Joe Biden is stupid, but his comment about “plans to build a railroad from the Pacific all the way across the Indian Ocean,” removes all doubt that he is all there. Speaking Wednesday evening before the League of Conservation Voters’ annual dinner, Biden waxed ineloquently: “We’re talking about building — and I had my team putting together with other countries as well — to build a railroad from the Pacific Ocean

A couple of days ago, we posted a satirical piece, call it a sati-torial, with a list of headlines we’re never going to see. One of them said “Democrats Realize They’ve Been Using The Word ‘Fascist’ Wrong For Decades.” There’s a lot of truth in there. The way the political left tosses around that word shows that they have no idea what it means. Or maybe they do. And they’re intentionally applying it wrongly because they’re driven by their depravity. Either way, we’ve been hearing it for decades. And its use has accelerated in recent years along with the irresponsible usage of “white supremacy” and “white privilege.”

Can California transition to a portfolio of 100% renewable energy sources and still generate enough electricity to meet the state’s future needs, including the addition of millions of electric cars on the road? Using the state’s historical trends to project forward, the answer to these questions is no. Californians will face acute electricity shortages soon if policymakers insist on implementing its current suite of policies. California is already incapable of generating enough electricity, importing 30% of its current electricity needs from other states. With respect to current generation sources, nearly 60% of California’s

President Joe Biden loves to brag about the masterful job he’s doing managing the nation’s economy, as he did on Tuesday when cheering the latest inflation news – which saw food prices up almost 7% from last year – and “our historic economic progress.” The day before that, the Treasury Department released its monthly financial statement, which shows that the federal deficit for this fiscal year has already topped $1 trillion and that’s a big factor behind this is a sharp reduction in federal tax revenues from last year. Wait, you say. If the economy is “strong” and “historic” as Biden claims,

Yes, it’s still very early in the nominating process, and both President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump face daunting legal questions. Even so, both front-runners for the two major parties maintain comfortable, double-digit leads over their potential challengers. But what happens when the number of possible choices inevitably narrows? Then, the race for each party’s nomination changes considerably, the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. As in past months, we asked Democratic voters who among a list of 18 (which includes a choice of “someone else”) they would

Less than six months after President Joe Biden signed the Respect for Marriage Act, which codified gay marriages, the Human Rights Campaign declared its first-ever “state of emergency” for “LGBTQ+ people.” Why? Because of a supposed spike in “legislative assaults sweeping state houses this year.” “More than 75 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been signed into law this year alone, more than doubling last year’s number, which was previously the worst year on record,” the HRC says. But look closely. Almost every single bill on the “assault” list is legislation designed to protect children from the omnipresent and increasingly aggressive “transgender” community.

Could they really be as unbalanced as they appear to be? Turns out they are. At least that’s what the science says. And we know how much the left loves its science. Late Wednesday, the House passed an agreement to raise the debt ceiling in exchange for a few micro changes in spending. But despite all the (wildly exaggerated) warnings about a default, complaints from both sides about the terms of the deal, and what no doubt will be celebrations in the White House for getting a deal done – this fight has always been a sideshow. It’s the debt itself that poses the real and immediate crisis. And this debt ceiling bill does absolutely nothing to address that. In other words, it’s business as usual in Washington, and anyone celebrating this agreement should be run out of town on a rail.

Our insatiable need for water may be keeping us alive, but it's shifting the tilt of the Earth, a new study shows. Researchers in Korea say the removal of groundwater around the world for drinking and irrigation is altering the Earth's mass and in turn making its axis 'wobble'. Changing the position of the axis can potentially increase the amount of sunlight the poles are getting, which can increase the melting of polar ice. According to the team, we've shifted such a large mass of water that the Earth tilted 31 inches (78.5cm) east between 1993 and 2010 alone.

That’s the only explanation I can give for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) berating the state of Florida for executing Duane Owen, who was convicted of raping and murdering a 14-year-old babysitter and a 38-year-old mother of two. Indeed, the ACLU is strongly opposed to capital punishment. But the organization only made passing reference to their opposition to the death penalty. Instead, they were livid with Florida for executing Duane Owen because the state refused to allow Owen to “transition” to female. (Snip) “No one should be killed by the state.
