California’s Newsom faces tough question:
Who would replace Feinstein?

Original Article

U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s ongoing medical struggles have raised a sensitive political question with no easy answer: Who would California Gov. Gavin Newsom pick to replace her if the seat becomes vacant? [snip] “Newsom must honor his promise to appoint a Black woman” if Feinstein resigns, said Democratic Assemblymember Lori Wilson, who heads the Legislative Black Caucus in Sacramento. “I trust him at his word. We currently have zero Black women in the Senate, so if the opportunity becomes available the governor must act to help remedy this lack of representation.”

Comments:

Not addressed in the article is Pelosi's ongoing effort to keep DiFi propped up until next November (won't happen) so that Schiff can win by election. Brylcreem has no choice, though, having appointed a Hispanic (Padilla) to replace the previous "black" Senator, it's going to have to be either Barbara Lee or Oprah. Sorry, America, but this is the best that California has to offer.

The yak in the people's republic of california is that Newsom would put Barbara The Commie Lee in the seat. Queen Nasty Nancy wants her stooge, Lying Sack of Schiff in the seat. That's why one of Nancy's spawn is acting like the guardian over Nearly DeadFi. She'll be on life support until election day. And I don't think anyone wants Ms. Potato Thrower in the seat at all.

Barbara Lee is pretty much expecting the appointment if Di-Fi ''steps aside''. Although she is a stalwart Democrat, she's a bit of a wild card - being out there on the leftward fringe. In a closely divided Senate, Lee could make all kinds of crazy demands to get her vote. Queen Pelosi won't have any control over a Lee Senate career.

Lego has abandoned plans to make its famous bricks from recycled plastic bottles, saying that the manufacturing process would be more polluting than the current production of oil-based bricks. [snip] The toymaker has pledged to use only sustainable materials in its products by 2032 and, two years ago, unveiled a prototype brick made from recycled PET. The plastic was sourced from bottles that are typically used for water or soda. Since then, however, Lego has found that making bricks from the recycled material would require investing in new equipment and involve more steps, which would ultimately lead to more planet-heating pollution than the status quo...
