A former professor was allegedly fired from a Catholic seminary after he offered to fly women to states that allowed abortions after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year, according to The Guardian. Greg Williams, a pilot and former professor at St. Joseph Seminary College in Louisiana, posted on Facebook following the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization offering his piloting services to any women who were in a state that banned abortion, according to The Guardian. Williams was reportedly informed on July 5, 2022, that he was fired from his position at St. Joseph due to violating the terms of his contract

So is it any wonder that our priests think immorality like homosexual relationships, and abortion are acceptable when their mentors believe like this professor?

The vow of chastity has attracted too many young men who were not sure of their sexuality. They thought the priesthood would damp their homosexual desires. Instead, the “pink” seminaries were full of the like minded and thus the scandals. It’s one thing to go at it with other priests but the abuse of adolescent boys is inexcusable . I am Protestant and I know it goes on there too, just not as bad as what the chastity rule has done to the Catholic priesthood. Far be it for me to criticize another religion but common sense (now lacking everywhere) should have told The Church that this was not a good idea.

#4 - You're off the topic of the article. But perhaps you were "triggered" by the word "seminary". Also #1 just couldn't help slipping in the reference to homosexuality as well when it was not mentioned in the article. Is it so hard to imagine that there have been reforms made in the seminaries within the last twenty years? The problem highlighted by the professor's actions is, unfortunately, widespread within the laity. Too many American Catholics think their political right to freedom of thought applies to their acceptance of Church doctrine. Abortion is murder and is a mortal sin for any who participates or facilitates in the procurement of the procedure. The professor is quiet disingenuous to complain that his firing was against the pro-life teachings of the church because his lose of employment prevents he and his wife from having children. His loss of his job is entirely his fault because he willfully abused his position as a professor of seminarians by acting contrary to Church teachings. It is he who betrayed his family when he betrayed his students and his Church.

During a recent interview with Fox News' Neil Cavuto, lawyer and Democratic presidential candidate Robert Francis Kennedy Jr suggested that the Covid-19 lockdowns had helped to systematically wipe out America's middle class. He argued that the policies implemented during the pandemic were a boon to the wealthy while turning the lives of the poor and middle class upside down. "The lockdowns were absolutely catastrophic," Kennedy began. "Worst of all is what it did to the economy ... We shifted $4 trillion in wealth from the American middle class to this new aristocracy of billionaires."
