Writer E. Jean Carroll took the witness stand for her lawsuit against former President Donald Trump on Wednesday, telling jurors: "I’m here because Trump raped me." When she stepped forward with her allegations in 2019, Trump "lied and shattered my reputation, and I’m trying to get my life back," Carroll said during her testimony at the civil trial in federal court in Lower Manhattan. Carroll, 79, said she first met Trump — who has said he doesn't know who she is and had never met her — in 1987 at a "Saturday Night Live" party, where she was a writer at the time. She said she believes that's

alas poor E. Jean your imagination is running rampant and your revelation that "in 1987 at a "Saturday Night Live" party, where she was a writer at the time." you have what it takes to fabricate whatever scenario you wish to encourage other people to believe but such fabrication in court is known as Perjury and is a crime, not on Mr. Trump but on Y-O-U so holding your tongue and stifling your imaginative juices might be a more logical road for you to embark on, from this moment on. you are not a credible witness or a victim for that matter

Both men and women have been destroyed by our legal and justice system allowing lawsuits and criminal proceedings to be brought to trial for events that occurred several years if not decades ago. This is especially true of rape and sexual harassment. The only possible exception is in the case of murder and then only if there is concrete physical evidence. The statute of limitations should be no more than 3 to 5 years for these to be brought before a civil or criminal court. Some people may say this would be unfair to children who were abused and powerless to come forward or repressed memories surface years later. They have a legitimate point in those cases but the question then is do we allow the creation of a judicial weapon to be available that can be used to destroy or at the very least tarnish a person for life. If that is to be allowed, the decision to go forward should not be in the hands of DAs who are political animals who have personal agendas that often times void of seeking justice but more concerned with advancing careers.

RALEIGH, N.C. — In massive victories for Republicans, the newly GOP-controlled North Carolina Supreme Court on Friday threw out a previous ruling against gerrymandered voting maps and upheld a photo voter identification law that colleagues had struck down as racially biased. The rulings should make it significantly easier for the Republican-dominated legislature to help the GOP gain seats in the narrowly divided U.S. House when state lawmakers redraw congressional boundaries for the 2024 elections. Under the current map, Democrats won seven of the state’s 14 congressional seats last November. The court, which became a Republican majority this year following the election of two GOP justices, ruled

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Iran's navy seized a Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday heading to the U.S. amid wider tensions over Tehran's nuclear program, the latest-such capture in a waterway crucial for global energy supplies. No wonder President Biden needs a cheat sheet while taking questions from adults. WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden just announced his re-election campaign, but he’s already on track to sacrifice New Hampshire’s famed primary to a fringe rival like Marianne Williamson or Robert Kennedy Jr. The unusual situation is one of Biden’s own making, thanks to the new primary calendar the Democratic National Committee ratified at his behest in February, which seeks to demote Iowa and New Hampshire and prohibits candidates from campaigning — or even putting their name on the ballot — in a state that jumps the line. The problem is that New Hampshire and Iowa, both of which Biden lost in 2020, plan to disregard the DNC

She is smart, was a good governor, and one of the most reliable and well-spoken of the Trump appointees. With that said, I was pretty stunned by her cheap shot at Ron DeSantis. I am pretty sure that it will alienate quite a number of people, although to me it’s pretty clear that Republican voters are not the intended recipients of her message. Dylan Mulvaney has already cost Bud Light what is assumed to be millions of dollars (17 percent drop in sales), but he’s not done causing chaos yet. The transgender “influencer” entered into the broader public eye after Joe Biden invited him to the White House back in 2022. Think about that. A president who hasn’t done a challenging interview since he took office found time to receive softballs from a grown man who pretends to be a prepubescent girl. But I digress. Mulvaney has been propped up by corporate America despite only claiming to be a “girl” for a little over a year.
