Honeymoons are typically for newlyweds who travel to a once-in-a-lifetime destination, after a blissful and loved-up wedding day. But, for this woman, the idea of waiting until she found a partner to take her on a honeymoon was not going to work. (snip) "The solo honeymoon to Saint Lucia was a great outlet for me because it reminded me of my resilience and strength. (snip) a solo honeymoon is specifically based around your love for yourself and the love that you are seeking to feel and experience within yourself," she added.
Huh?

I would think that “your love for yourself” leaves one pretty lonely, especially when your “self” sucks so bad, you can’t find anyone to travel with you. Whew, this is typical of the Me Generation. Me, me, me. Self, self, self. It’s never “What can I do to help you?” It’s always, “What can I do to help myself?”

If you aren't newly married, you mean vacation. STOP CHANGING THE MEANING OF WORDS JUST BECAUSE THEY APPLY TO YOU!!! Talk about narcissistic.
honeymoon
hŭn′ē-moo͞n″
noun
1. A holiday or trip taken by a newly married couple.
2. An early harmonious period in a relationship.
3. The first month after marriage; the interval, of whatever length, commonly spent by a newly married couple in traveling, visiting, or other recreation, before settling down to their ordinary occupations.

Words are changed because they are not "inclusive". How come I can't have a honeymoon? Me Me Me Me Me. That generation is screwed. They've sunk themselves with self pity and fear.

We are truly living in George Orwell's "1984" right now!!!!
The sad part is that, not only can she not find a man who would at least go on vacation with her (much less marry her and go on a real honeymoon), apparently she can't even find any female friends to go on vacation with. That must be a very lonely existence...

Calling this a "solo honeymoon" is a little much. She took a solo vacation. I've done it many times as my DH isn't into traveling overseas, or interested in museums and art like I am. I disappear for a few weeks and check in frequently by text or email, and he goes out for lunch or on drives with his guy friends, and takes care of the cats. The only downside is I come home to overweight cats because he feeds them every time they cry, so they cry a lot.

I've been on lots of vacations, too. And how sad of a person do you have to be that a vacation "transforms your life?"
And are any white persons allowed AT ALL in the media these days? Certainly nearly banned on TV commercials, and all the new shows (judging only from the sales pitches that zip by unwatched as I blow through commercials) seem to have no or only an occasional white face.
Racism. And I have dropped two of the last three regular network TV shows that we watched for many, many years because the white male characters have been steadily replaced with blacks, women, or black women, or Muslim women or the occasional hispanic. And they they push story lines based on "Oh, the poor migrants being put upon" or "white nationalists" as the bad guys. THAT one finally made me shut down NCIS and stop recording them after perhaps 20-25 years. Only one original character left, and the "racial politics" crap just ended it. The latest spinoff is "NCIS Hawaii" where white folks are rarely part of it, from the trailers that they show.
All about non-white folks..... blacks are 13% of the country and 90% of TV land, and now foolish "news" like this.

A "solo honeymoon" to love yourself? It sounds like she's been hurt and is responding with a "strong, independent woman" vibe. It seems a little over the top, but whatever works. You go, solo girl.

Staying with the self-empowerment theme, can you therefore also get a "solo divorce" if your honeymoon self was not compatible?
What a rube!

It won't last. She will divorce as soon as she realizes she is married to a self-indulgent dimwit. Then she will be torn apart and beside herself.

It's actually pretty sad. Calling it a honeymoon is just false. At least given the traditional definition of a trip to celebrate a marriage and a future together. She calls it "solo" which is the sad part. No friends? She talks about "self-love". Well, we should all have a healthy level of self esteem but the concept of "self-love" and "solo-honeymoon" sounds lonely, desperate, and self-absorbed. I think taking a vacation by yourself is fine. I like camping on the beach alone. Others like backpacking alone. I don't think any of us call it a honeymoon, nor are we practicing self-love. Well, guess that depends on what that means.

I just look at this as sad. She is simply pathetic and I can’t get mad about this poor soul. I remember my two great aunts, one was attractive and had several offers of marriage. Her sister was, to be charitable, exactly the opposite and had no offers. The attractive one never married and opted to grow old with her sister out of love and kindness. A real sacrifice but people in those days were much better people.

So?
Last year, I went on a vacation by myself. 4 days and 3 nights. I went to the location I wanted to visit. I did the things I wanted to do. Yeah, I had to be careful about safety.
The caveat for me is that it is the place where I plan to be buried.....if the Lrd tarries.
