An Orlando television reporter was among the dead in a shooting spree in Florida that killed three on Wednesday, while covering one of the shootings, police said
Mina told a news conference that the employees worked for Spectrum News 13.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said earlier on Twitter that one person was in custody. Keith Melvin Moses, 19, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to a shooting Wednesday morning, Mina said. Moses is expected to be charged in four other shootings that occurred later in the day, including the killing of the Spectrum News 13 journalist, Mina added.

Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) outlined an optimistic vision for the U.S. and the Republican party in a speech on Wednesday in Iowa as he continues to weigh a 2024 White House bid with trips through early primary and caucus states.
Scott, while speaking at Drake University, delivered an encouraging speech — a step back from the gloomy and distressed messaging other Republicans have focused on, centered on the Biden administration, early in the campaign.
“I see 330 million Americans getting back to celebrating our shared blessings again, tolerating our differences again, and having each other’s backs again,” Scott said,

The latest edition of Chelsea Clinton’s She Persisted book series is pushing “transgender” ideology on children by propping up Assistant Secretary for Health Dr. Rachel Levine — a man — as a woman.
The children’s book, written by Lisa Bunker — who is also a man — and Clinton, tells the story of Levine being the “first openly transgender government official to hold an office that requires Senate confirmation, the first openly transgender four-star officer in uniform service, and the first female four-star admiral in the commissioned corps.” (Tweet)

Sen. Tim Scott officially kicked off his Faith in America 'listening tour' Wednesday in Des Moines, Iowa as the South Carolina Republican dared liberals to challenge his 'blackness.'
Scott, who is mulling a run for the White House, spoke of his family's own 'cotton to Congress' story and said that his own story was 'living proof' of the American Dream.
'I am here because my family chose faith over anger, responsibility over resentment, and patriotism over pity,' the senator told a crowd of around 60 at Drake University.

Biden administration diplomats are trying to block a U.K. plan that would see Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) designated as a terror group, despite the fact that the U.S. took similar steps during the Trump administration.
The U.S. State Department, which is currently trying to revive the defunct Iran Nuclear deal, believes that the U.K. can play a key role as interlocutors and fears that role would be undermined by designating the IRGC a terror group, according to a new report from The Telegraph.
The move would harden the U.K.’s position against Iran and deal a blow to international talks, supported by the Biden administration,

As I reported earlier, while Joe Biden was in Ukraine giving a lot of our money away and staging air raid sirens to make himself look tough, former President Donald Trump was going to East Palestine, Ohio, to listen to and help Americans who are in crisis. They need to know that people care about what’s happening there.
A train derailment there about three weeks ago resulted in contamination of the area, and the reaction from the federal government has been painfully slow. Joe Biden hasn’t even mentioned it, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg had to be shamed into caring, finally saying on Wednesday that he would be going there

The Ukrainians have not only held their own, but have managed to liberate a good chunk of their conquered territory. They’ve been buoyed tremendously by a constant influx of Western military aid. I argue here, against a small but vocal conservative faction, that we should continue this aid.
There has been plenty of unhelpful hyperbole on both sides of the debate. Prominent pro-Ukrainers have attempted to equate opposition to Ukrainian aid as opposition to democracy itself. Michael Beschloss, NBC’s resident Rent-A-Zinn, referencing members of Congress who didn’t applaud Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent speech, and in Stalinist fashion, tweeted “we need to know from them exactly why.”

Until the rise of brilliant scholars in critical race theory, genderqueer studies and hxstory, to respectfully recognize just a few fields where virtuous minds have toiled, we lacked the proper language and theoretical tools to identify the range of harmful ideas – including cisheteropatriarchy, whiteness, colonialism, the gender binary – that infect “James and the Giant Peach,” “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” and “Matilda.”

In attempting to make sense of things, one should always look to the insights of the wise and the experienced. But one should also heed the occasional ill-considered outbursts of loud-mouthed idiots, since these too can be quite enlightening. A ranting partisan sometimes gives the game away by thoughtlessly blurting out the cynical thinking behind their own lousy ideas. Such inadvertent and ill-advised slips make it far easier to emotionally reverse engineer partisan stances that more skilled advocates all too often succeed in dressing up as serious proposals.

The United States is notably absent from this list, despite a long history of setting up bipartisan commissions after national crises in order to avoid repeating mistakes. The “great awokening” touches every elite institution in America, mostly radiating out from our compromised system of higher education. One of the most disturbing and illuminating aspects of this cultural revolution is how much it is transforming science and medicine.

Shortly after a Biden administration official boasted about how the federal government might ban gas stoves for being “unsafe,” the White House reassured the public that no such ban was in the works.
We warned readers at the time not to believe such reassurances because “once this sort of train starts moving there is often no stopping it.”
That was in early January. It took less than a month for the Biden administration to prove us right.
Earlier this month, the Department of Energy released a proposed rule that, if implemented, would essentially regulate gas stoves out of existence.

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, which is investigating the Biden family's business dealings, has asked a former Serbian official for an interview and documents related to Hunter Biden.
The Republican-led committee sent a five-page letter Tuesday to Vuk Jeremić, who served as Serbia's foreign minister and president of the U.N. General Assembly from 2012 to 2013.
"The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating President Biden's connections to certain international and domestic business transactions and practices, including his family and associates who peddled influence to generate millions of dollars for the Biden family," chairman Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., wrote in the letter.

How is American education going? In at least one blue midwestern state, not well.
Nonprofit research organization Wirepoint has looked into Illinois public schools, and their performance deserves less than an “A+.” Among more than 30 institutions of learning, zero students can read at their respective grade levels.
As for math, across 53 schools, no students are proficient.
The bulk of those underperforming campuses — twenty-two in the case of reading and thirty-three in the case of math — sit within the City of Chicago School District — where taxpayers annually spend between $5,929 and $56,311 per student.

The NBA has been insufferably woke for a few years now. They love to virtue signal for Black Lives Matter and everything else the left embraces.
And now they’re entering into a new partnership with a company in China, a country that uses slave labor, poisons the environment and even has what are effectively concentration camps.
It’s all about money. The NBA wants those dollars that come from selling jerseys and sneakers in China.

Former President Donald Trump will gather some of his top donors at his Mar-a-Lago estate in South Florida Thursday evening for his super PAC’s first fundraiser — an event that organizers are billing as an intimate candlelight dinner.
Four miles down South Ocean Boulevard and a day later, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Trump’s lead potential rival for the Republican nomination, will host his own contributors for a three-day-long retreat at the Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach. The dueling events — along with a Friday donor conference in Austin, Texas organized by former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove and featuring a handful of other prospective Republican presidential candidates —
