U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg emphasized to Yahoo! Finance Live the large number of train derailments in this country while the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, has gotten the most "attention." Buttigieg continues to face backlash after he was slow to discuss the train derailment causing toxic chemicals to pollute the East Palestine and the surrounding region. He finally addressed the disaster on Monday night, 10 days after the train crashed. Buttigieg was asked by Yahoo! Finance about what the Transportation Department is doing. When Ohio Senator JD Vance was briefing the press earlier today, he was asked about East Palestine residents being required to sign indemnity waivers, releasing Norfolk Southern Railway from legal liability, as a requirement of having their water/air tests conducted on their property.
Senator Vance said he talked to a resident about it, then reviewed the contract and confirmed the indemnity demand. Vance then immediately called Norfolk Southern Railroad officials and asked them about it. According to Vance, the response from Norfolk Southern Railway was that the liability waiver was accidentally presented. WATCH (@24:54 Prompted):

WASHINGTON — President Biden stormed out of a press availability Thursday afternoon when asked if his ability to deal with China was “compromised” by his family’s business interests — complaining journalists were not being “polite” and telling them to “give me a break” before walking away.
Republicans say Biden can’t properly confront China on issues ranging from fentanyl and COVID-19 origins to a surveillance balloon that traversed US airspace this month because of his family’s financial links to Chinese state entities.

President Joe Biden is a 'healthy' and 'vigorous' 80-year-old who is fit for office, his doctor said after his annual physical on Thursday at Walter Reed.
White House physician Colonel Kevin O'Connor provided an update on his health amid concerns over his age as he prepares to announce a 2024 run for president.
The results were largely unchanged from last time, aside from a lesion on his chest that has been sent for cancer screening.
O'Connor said Biden's gait 'remains stiff', but insisted it has not worsened since the last examination.

David Archibald, an Australian scientist and analyst, counterintuitively argues that China is weaker than we think. I don’t agree with everything Archibald says, both factually and theoretically, but I thought his essay is interesting enough to bring to your attention.
The premise of Archibald’s claim that China is not as forbidding as Xi Jinping makes it appear is summed up in a single sentence: “China has a lot of structural problems that make it a fragile state, a frail state and even potentially a future failed state.” Archibald makes five major points:
One: China’s demographic games have been disastrous. Mao, who believed in big battalions, deliberately encouraged massive population growth

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday canceled scheduled arguments in a case in which Republicans sought to keep in place a policy introduced under former President Donald Trump that has let American officials quickly expel hundreds of thousands of migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border.
The policy, known as Title 42, (snip) a measure tied to a public health emergency.
The justices removed it from their argument calendar after the Justice Department told them on Feb. 7 the case would become moot because Title 42 will expire in light of an announcement by President Joe Biden's administration that the recognition of a COVID-19 public health emergency will end effective May 11.

There are two new stories out about Joe Biden’s age today and both of them make clear that Democrats are privately very nervous about lining up behind an 80-year-old man who would be 86 by the time he finished a second term. CNN reports discussion of Biden’s age is “omnipresent.”
Biden’s age is “omnipresent” in nearly every conversation, one person involved told CNN, at a time when he’s preparing for a reelection announcement that would try to extend his time in the Oval Office until he is 86 years old…

Joe Biden has finally been forced into making comments on the three “objects” that the U.S. shot down over the past weekend. What’s been glaring has been Biden’s failure to respond or speak to the shootdowns and the many questions that the American people have had about the actions.
We heard from the Secretary of Defense. We heard from the NORAD Commander. We heard from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre who had trouble describing what NORAD was and called Canada, “Canadia.” But we didn’t hear from Biden. So on Thursday, he finally said he would be delivering remarks on the subject.

As President Joe Biden nears the time when he is expected to make a formal announcement about running for reelection (rumor has it that he’ll do it sometime in March or April), fresh excuses are pouring in from his Democratic supporters as to why his age shouldn’t be an issue despite all the available evidence showing it very much is an issue.
The latest example comes courtesy of CNN, which did a surprisingly thorough piece on the “age questions” that Biden has been hit with since even before he declared his presidential candidacy in 2019.
According to the report, among the strategies the Biden team is set to employ

How do we educate our students for freedom?
After all, many of them arrive in college today believing that the United States is systematically oppressive, hopelessly unjust, and that there is not much worth celebrating or defending about our country (or so they have been taught).
So I often start my class by asking them a simple question: “Out of the world’s twenty largest countries, in which country would you rather live?”
I pick the world’s twenty largest countries because size matters. The larger a society’s size, the more complex will be its social, economic, and political problems. There is also the difficulty of maintaining freedom and representative government in the midst

A recent epidemic of airline near misses deserves both attention and reflection.
In mid-December, a San Francisco-bound United Airlines Boeing 777-200 airliner, just a little over a minute after taking off from Maui, Hawaii, suddenly dived. It lost more than half its altitude and came within 800 feet of crashing into the Pacific Ocean before pulling up.
About a month later, an American Airlines jet crossed the runway at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport just as a Delta Air Lines plane was accelerating for takeoff. The two aircraft nearly collided.

The nation’s oldest president in the history of American presidents shuffled off to the doctor today after delaying his annual physical evaluation for weeks, and according to President Barack Obama’s former doctor, the White House will “sugarcoat” anything the physicians might find.
Dr. David Scheiner served as Obama’s doctor for more than 20 years before he ascended to the White House. Given that President Biden is 80 years old, he says his age is a major health concern.
But don’t expect to learn anything when Biden’s results are released on Thursday. That’s not how the White House handles these things, Scheiner said. (Tweet/Video)

The Grand Jury recommends that the District Attorney seek appropriate indictments for such crimes where the evidence is compelling,” according to a report written by the jurors.

Congressional Democrats rolled out a spending proposal aimed at closing the racial wealth gap on Wednesday, which would give at least $1,000 to every American born after 2005.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) introduced the American Opportunity Accounts Act, which would federalize the use of 'baby bonds' for the country's youth to help fight wealth inequality.
The program would be funded by raising estate and inheritance taxes. It would result in a major redistribution of wealth to middle and lower-income Americans.
The lawmakers estimate that children in families on the lowest income levels would have roughly $46,000 by the time they begin college,

The environmental disaster taking place in Ohio from a Norfolk Southern derailed train should outrage both sides of the political aisle. After the smoke clears, investigations will take place and most likely will show that there is plenty of blame to be shared, including all levels of government and both political parties.
But at the moment, the complete lack of any significant response by the Biden administration is appalling and begs the question why an administration that is hostile to the free market and supports extreme measures to fight climate change is missing in action?

Two weeks later…. they release a statement, essentially saying there was never an issue between the board of directors, employees of Project Veritas and James O’Keefe. If there never was an issue, why wait for two weeks to deny it? Yeah, the problems start with the central falsity and go downhill from there. The kindest advice I gave the Democrats was that they should have taken a loss in 2022. Hand the House and the Senate to Republicans and clear the deck for a new generation of leadership. Biden would have been forced to follow Pelosi into retirement after a long grueling struggle with congressional Republicans.
Democrats would have had a good shot at winning in 2024 with a younger candidate who wasn’t at the wheel during these miserable years.
Instead, Biden was locked in for a second term. Most of the critics fell silent and endorsed his reelection campaign. The potential competitors, primarily Newsom, have gotten out of the way.

A "high-altitude airborne object" over Northern Canada was shot down by an F-22 fighter jet at the directive of President Biden, a North American Aerospace Defense Command [NORAD] official confirmed in a statement to Fox News Digital. The incident came one day after the United States shot down an unidentified object over northern Alaska on Friday that entered U.S. airspace before it was detected and a week after the U.S. shot down a Chinese surveillance balloon spotted off the coast of South Carolina.

It isn’t a civil rights cause, it isn’t a new form of free expression, it isn’t a natural societal evolution.
It’s insanity. And facilitating it, as in the case of the supposed “medical professionals” increasingly pushing it on children, is evil.
We’re seeing this in more and more vivid detail as the transgender craze — and it is a craze, make no mistake about that — broadens and touches more and more lives. It’s becoming harder and harder to sustain the myth that chemical castrations and hormone baths and disfiguring surgeries lead to normal lives.

With a classified document scandal encircling him like a vulture waiting on a wounded animal to succumb to its injuries, Joe Biden’s chances to be a presidential candidate next year are closing in on nil. So who will be the Democrats’ flagship candidate? The smart money says it will be the foolish Gavin Newsom.
The California governor wouldn’t be the only candidate, of course. A lineup for the primaries is likely to include, at the least, current vice president and former U.S. senator from California Kamala Harris, as well as previous candidates Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and U.S. Sens. Rail company Norfolk Southern ran scared of a town hall meeting in East Palestine tonight because officials 'were afraid for their safety' following the chemical train derailment disaster.
Representatives were due to attend to help explain what happened and how they could repair the devastation - and soothe fears of potential long term health problems including cancer.
But the town's mayor Trent Conaway revealed just before the packed meeting at the local high school: 'The people want answers. I want answers.
'Norfolk Southern didn't show up.'
Asked why, he said: 'Because they are scared for their safety.'

FBI agents conducted two searches at the University of Delaware as part of an investigation into President Joe Biden's handling of classified documents and there is some mystery about what they found.
Agents reportedly carried out the searches at the college, which is Biden's alma mater, in late January and early February, according to CBS News, but the documents removed from the premises by the FBI did not appear to have classified markings.
Agents retrieved materials from two locations and the FBI is in the process of reviewing them. The University of Delaware houses material from Biden's time in the U.S. Senate and

Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Ron Johnson (R-WI) are demanding an investigation into reports that U.S.-backed entities funded a foreign think tank that is trying to blacklist and defund conservative media outlets.
The Washington Examiner reported:
The Global Engagement Center and the National Endowment for Democracy, two State Department-backed entities, have granted $665,000 combined to the Global Disinformation Index, which is feeding conservative website blacklists to advertising companies. Now, Rubio and Johnson are calling for an inquiry into how taxpayer dollars have flowed to GDI, which intends to shut down disfavored speech.

Dick Van Dyke was eliminated after performing as the Gnome on Wednesday during the season nine premiere of The Masked Singer on Fox.
The 97-year-old legendary entertainer performed a fun rendition of When You're Smiling by Frank Sinatra and left panelist Nicole Scherzinger, 44, in tears when he revealed his identity.
'This is the most seasoned and most decorated we've had on our show, ladies and gentlemen,' said show host Nick Cannon, 42, as Dick revealed his identity.
Nicole openly wept as Nick asked Dick what it was like being the Gnome.
'It was really dark in there. ...I couldn't see anything,' Dick said.

Joe Biden raised eyebrows on Wednesday when he referred to the first black governor of Maryland as 'boy'.
Biden, 80, was in the town of Lanham to speak to members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He referenced the newly-elected 44-year-old governor Wes Moore, a former college football star, and used a word which is seen as a derogative term for black men.
'You got a h*** of a new governor in Wes Moore, I tell ya,' Biden told the union workers.
'He's the real deal, and the boy looked like he could still play. He's got some guns on him.'

South Park took aim at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Wednesday night with an episode depicting the Prince and Princess of Canada - a young royal couple who loudly beg for privacy, while drawing attention to themselves.
The red-headed prince and his floppy-hatted wife are seen promoting the prince's book - Waaagh - whose cover strongly resembles Harry's memoir Spare. They storm off a TV show after being challenged about their motives. The couple then move to South Park, with the princess declaring: 'If we moved here, people would think we're really serious about wanting to be normal.'

Wait, did I say Nikki Harris? I meant Nikki Haley, but it's an understandable mistake. After all, as a good friend deep in politics recently pointed out to me, Nikki Haley is the Kamala Harris of the Republican Party. And now Nikki says she wants to be president, announcing her doomed candidacy with hilariously hackneyed and overwrought fanfare ("Now is the time for a strong and proud America!"), though everyone with half a cerebral cortex can see that she's really just trying to position herself as the vice-presidential nominee when either Donald Trump or Ron DeSantis gets the nomination.

Rep. Bill Johnson (R-OH) invited Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to a town hall on Wednesday evening about the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, asserting that the official has not heard the concerns of those impacted by the disaster.
Local and state authorities evacuated all residents within one mile of the crash and started a controlled burn of the volatile chemicals to decrease the risk of an explosion. Vinyl chloride, a carcinogen used to manufacture PVC, was released from five train cars last week in the form of massive plumes of dark smoke visible throughout eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

The FBI’s reputation problems have accelerated with the arrest on corruption charges of Charles McGonigal, the former chief of counterintelligence for the FBI’s New York field office, one of the most powerful spy-hunters in the country — who also happened to be connected to Hunter Biden.
In twin indictments last month, McGonigal was charged with taking secret cash payments from a former Albanian intelligence officer, holding secret meetings with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and attempting to remove top Kremlin oligarch Oleg Deripaska from a US sanctions list.

A Georgia State Senator referred to Justice Clarence Thomas, the second black man to serve on the United States Supreme Court, by the racial slur “Uncle Tom” this week, presumably over his conservative leanings.
The racist comment occurred on Tuesday as the Georgia State Senate voted 32-20 along party lines to create a statue on Capitol grounds dedicated to Justice Clarence Thomas, a native of the Peach State. In the leadup to the vote, Sen. Emmanuel Jones (D) likened Thomas to a slave that “sold his soul to the slave master.”
“There’s a whole laundry list of positions that Justice Thomas has taken that I find offensive,” Jones said, adding:
