Destroying Meritocracy Is Deadly

A recent epidemic of airline near misses deserves both attention and reflection. In mid-December, a San Francisco-bound United Airlines Boeing 777-200 airliner, just a little over a minute after taking off from Maui, Hawaii, suddenly dived. It lost more than half its altitude and came within 800 feet of crashing into the Pacific Ocean before pulling up. About a month later, an American Airlines jet crossed the runway at New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport just as a Delta Air Lines plane was accelerating for takeoff. The two aircraft nearly collided.

This is what you get when identity is more important than skill or performance. Seriously, why should I give these ingrates the benefit of my talent? At some point it's no longer worth it.

I had a long chat with the Bing AI about merit. It is clear that its focus is on diversity and equity, as there was no point in responses to my questions or assertions that the AI didn't bring the focus back to diversity is a strength mantra, and equity over equality (it kept bringing equity and equality of opportunity back in a circle always making equity a key quality. AI, in current hands, is a social contagion that places progressive policies and ideology over individual liberty and merit. When questioned about the bias in media the AI gave the NYT, WashPo, CNN, and the other alphabet progressive mouthpieces the gold stamp of limited bias approval. When I presented a list of conservative media, it was not generous or kind, in some cases giving it the "right-wing" designation. If AI becomes the source of information and education (make no mistake, that will happen sooner than you think), as it stands today our society and nation are in worse peril than it is today.

#1 - The fubaring of America began long before Joey Baby's administration. The commies have been at it for decades. Just one example from VDK's article, "Since 2013, the FAA has been lowering standards for air traffic control qualifications to achieve de facto race and gender quotas." We're living Part III of "Atlas Shrugged" and three years ago they threw in a little of "The Stand" for spice. Truly our only hope is a return to God and a national religious Great Awakening. As always, God is the answer to all of humanities inequities. Unfortunately, we will have to wade through a lot of evil before we get there. Pray hard, Patriots, pray hard. AMDG

Pete Buttigieg fails the Woody Allen test 7 replies

He’s been called the future of the Democratic Party, and the smartest man in the swamp. Pete Buttigieg serves as transportation secretary in the Biden Administration. And one could argue that, outside of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, there isn’t anyone in the administration who has performed as poorly as the former mayor of South Bend, Ind. This perspective comes after Buttigieg was once again several days late and many dollars short in his response to a 50-car train derailment on Feb. 3 in East Palestine, Ohio, that resulted in four kinds of cancer-causing chemicals being released into the area’s air and water. Fish and poultry have died

The average person can’t describe the daily responsibilities of the secretary of transportation or even name the figure who holds that position — until our transportation infrastructure fails, that is. As far as cushy political appointments go, it’s on the thankless end of the spectrum. At least that was the case before Pete Buttigieg ascended to the role in 2021. Now the secretary of transportation is both a political celebrity and someone immune to meaningful criticism over our country’s transportation failures — and there have been many.Though the left rarely misses an opportunity to announce that “the adults are back in charge,” Buttigieg’s failures suggest otherwise.

We know this, simply because they were honored at the recent Ripple of Hope Award Gala, which they picked up for racism within the Royal family no less, Harry produced this lame joke that he and Meghan were having a "date night," as with two children this was an opportunity to get out and enjoy each other’s company. Then he laughed like a drain with the audience. This came off as a pre-rehearsed and badly executed plot to show

Texas GOP Rep. Ronny Jackson, a former White House physician, is calling for an end to the "cover-up" of President Biden's health after the president's physical earlier this week claimed that he is healthy and fit to serve as commander in chief. "The majority of Americans can see that Biden's mental health is in total decline, yet there is no transparency from the White House on what’s going on, if anything, to address this issue and his inability to do his job," Jackson told Fox News Digital. "Yesterday's written physical exam report released by Biden’s physician, Kevin O'Connor, further confirms that this administration is still adamant about concealing the truth."

Now that everyone acknowledges that Hunter Biden’s laptop is authentic, just as it was when first reported by the New York Post in October 2020, some pretty aggressive rewriting of history is going on. Republicans now control the House of Representatives and have made it plain that they’ll examine the saga of the laptop, the contents of which connect Hunter’s father, now-President Biden, to his family’s lucrative business of selling access to him. Because of this new congressional scrutiny, some who conspired to falsely cast the laptop story as “Russian disinformation” are scrambling to alter the record.

How do we educate our students for freedom? After all, many of them arrive in college today believing that the United States is systematically oppressive, hopelessly unjust, and that there is not much worth celebrating or defending about our country (or so they have been taught). So I often start my class by asking them a simple question: “Out of the world’s twenty largest countries, in which country would you rather live?” I pick the world’s twenty largest countries because size matters. The larger a society’s size, the more complex will be its social, economic, and political problems. There is also the difficulty of maintaining freedom and representative government in the midst

The University of Central Florida has adopted radical Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programming that segregates students by race, condemns the United States as “white-supremacist culture,” and encourages active discrimination against the “oppressor” class, characterized as “male, White, heterosexual, able-bodied, and Christian.” Officially, UCF reports that it has 14 separate DEI programs, costing in the aggregate more than $4 million per year. But this dramatically understates the reality, which is that the ideology of “diversity, equity, and inclusion” has been entrenched everywhere.

Forget “America First” for a moment. Put MAGA aside. Any effort to restore American greatness without putting the children first will fail. If there was any doubt that kids suffer when their own needs are subjugated to the fears and desires of adults, the Covid experience should have cast it out. For years, children en masse were put on the bottom of the priority list. Children are falling behind in education and key developmental milestones, mood disorders and loneliness are up, and suicide ideation has risen dramatically (including during the Covid era). Families are more broken and dysfunctional than in previous decades, and nearly 400,000 children are in foster care.

America has been drifting toward a level of corruption incompatible with a free society and a free-market economy. Political and economic freedom depend on the presence of a level of honesty that makes it possible for people to interact with one another with a sense of trust. Consider recent corrupt, criminal events and their implication for the future of American culture. An estimated $20 billion was stolen from California’s unemployment compensation program. The money was largely taken by criminals already incarcerated in California prisons using prison computers. Social Security and Medicare are on an “unsustainable course” and will run out of funds by 2037. That’s the conclusion reached by the General Accountability Office (GAO) and the Social Security Administration. There is no saving these programs without massive changes. And demagoguing the issue, as Joe Biden and the Democrats are doing, only delays the day of reckoning. To pretend these programs don’t need intervention now — right now — is to play with dynamite. The sooner we can get started, the less pain will be inflicted on senior citizens. Pain there will be. In order to put these programs on the path to long-term viability, it will take political courage

Despite widespread criticism of the WHO’s response to the COVID pandemic, U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra joined with WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in September 2022 to announce “the U.S.-WHO Strategic Dialogue.” Together, they developed a “platform to maximize the longstanding U.S. government-WHO partnership, and to protect and promote the health of all people around the globe, including the American people.”

The group reported a $533,846 consulting payment and $67,500 grant to an obscure charity called the Black Male Initiative, run by Ufot's brother.
