A pair of ads about Jesus will air on Super Bowl Sunday as part of a Christian group's efforts to spread a message of love and understanding to 100 million people.
The $20 million advertising campaign, funded in part by the family behind religious craft store chain Hobby Lobby, as well as Christian groups and other anonymous donors, will kick off with two ads centered on the idea that when it comes to Jesus, "He Gets Us."
At a time when the U.S. Christian population is down and religion has become a divisive topic, the group hopes to reach as many as possible and help spread the message of Jesus,

It's not too late. One of the two thieves being crucified along side of Jesus confessed that he was guilty of his crime and deserved his punishment but that he believed Jesus was without sin. Jesus replied to the believer thief, "Verily, I say unto thee, today you will be with me in paradise."

Thank you for bringing that quote to the last hours of this Friday night, #1. I've seen and heard it countless times, but it never ceases to leave me in awe. The power of that "private" conversation between two men nearing their death offers such hope.

Some of their previous ads give me the impression that Jesus is okay with a lot of the immorality going on at the moment. Message to those Churchians, he is most certainly not. But yes, he does get us.

The problem isn’t that Jesus doesn’t “get us”. He knows the hearts - the very thoughts - of each one of us.
The problem is that too many of us don’t “get Him”. Too much “dust” on too many Bibles, and too many homes that don’t even have one. The answers to the lack of love and unity is in there, and so very much more vital information.
I hope these ads spur some interest in searching to see.

Is this another version of those pro-illegal alien commercials that stated 'Jesus was a refugee'?

Their whole Jesus was a refugee is bull. Jesus was never a refugee or homeless. He traveled Isreal to preach the gospel. They lost me right there and in another they make it seem he was alright with immorality.
No Thanks, I'll get my Jesus elsewhere.

The 'Jesus was a refugee' commercial stuck in my craw as well. Mary and Joseph left with infant Jesus because King Herod was killing all infant sons to ensure his kingship would not be challenged. Whois the king now who has threatened murder of all infant sons to all the SA invaders crashing our borders?
Lefty bunk.

To me, this is just one more effort to sell the idea that Jesus is a 'good man' but it denies His divinity. Its anther sales job of saying Jesus was a 'refugee, homeless, underprivileged person.

There will not be a lot of poor folk from 3rd world countries that have never heard of Jesus watching a bunch of wealthy spoiled brats playing a game. $20 mill could be spent in much better ways to spread the Gospel.

Many of you on here have missed the intended point of these "ads".
If you actually sit through one of these "ads" you will find their true message...pro ILLEGAL immigration...."no one is illegal" is the message.
It is very subtle, but the true intent of their message...

I've been shopping at Hobby Lobby due to their Christian values. Now they're promoting human smuggling and illegal immigration?
Back to Michael's for me!

Jesus gets Jesus. God is love; He's also God of wrath. He has a way to salvation, and His way is the only way. He's not whatever you imagine Him to be, and He doesn't go along to get along.

Jesus was born to history's only example of 'refugees' where the breadwinner was a working, skilled craftsman who obeyed his native country's law to appear in person in his home district to pay his taxes.
"And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city."

He Gets Us but most people don't get him. It's amazing to me how many put their stock into this lifetime, which is a mere fraction of a second of eternity.
