There were two things that I missed during Sunday’s Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The first was Kansas City’s game-winning drive, which saw kicker Harrison Butker seal the underdog Chiefs’ 38-35 victory with a last-second field goal. My inattention was unintentional; my daughter, in the throes of a stomach flu that’s currently working its way through the family, decided to decorate our floor as the game came down to the wire. Que sera sera.
The second was pop star Rihanna’s halftime show — or at least the audio portion. This was wholly intentional, since I’ve heard Rihanna’s music before

The players and coaches weren't there to see the halftime show. Nor were very many sitting in the stands, or watching the telecast. The Chiefs' coach Andy Reid did the right thing. Stick to the business at hand. Don't get distracted.

Half time shows should be limited to high school marching bands and precision drill teams. The porn that passes for entertainment these days is abysmal and not the kind of thing you'd want your young impressionable kids to be watching. I say get rid of all celebrity half time shows. They have proven they cannot resist the spotlight and will do every outrageous thing to keep it on themselves.

Well, duh. They were at work.
If they wanted to see the show, they should have DVR'd it.
And how the Chiefs played in the second half, it's obvious that they used that time wisely.

crotch, turned it off.

Good for the coach. It was a disgusting display of masturbation. Shame in that vile creature. 8 months pregnant and rubbing her vaginal sexually and sniffing her hand after.
Real family friendly there Roger.
Goodell and all the other woke perverts and social justice warriors NEED TO GO.

It’s doubtful the coach even knew, or cared, who was performing at halftime. His focus was on the performance during game time in the most important game of the year, and rightfully so! What a waste all of that hard work would have been for such a worthless live distraction that could be seen in videos later. The fact that anyone would want to see something like that - the fact that it was allowed to be shown on television in that venue - is a sad commentary in itself, & a huge part of the reason our culture is becoming so debased.

Sorry for 2nd post. Just wanted to add that I read that Mahomes, with his injured ankle, gave an inspiring speech at halftime, & that he refused pain meds, only getting the ankle taped again, along with mobility movements to help him toward going on to being MVP. So, my guess is that his mind wasn’t on seeing the halftime performance either.

Well, of course he didn't. They were down 10 points at halftime. I doubt the show was on anyone's mind.

From what I've heard and read about the half time show, if you didn't see it, you didn't miss much.

He kept his team focused. It probably helped them win the game. The coach did his job by making sure the players did their job.
That's the way it's supposed to be.
Rihanna isn't there for the football players.

Andy Reid was a coach that I loved to watch back when I gave a darn about the NFL. Of course, he didn't let his team watch the complete halftime Schiff show. They had and did burn the much-vaulted Philly defense. in the second half. Allowing guys to be wide open and giving Mahomes time to throw and run. As for the HTSS I told my SB viewing audience of relatives and friends that I expected something similar to last year's halftime Schiff Show (HTSS). Remember pot head Snoop Dippity Dog crip walking on stage and Eminem taking a knee. Rhianna was worse with her lip-synching, about to pop, crotch grabbing, finger smelling antics. Nice going Goodell you woke gutless corporate clown. At least some of the coaches have sense.

They didn't miss anything. I started watching it, found it dull and monotonous as her music tends to be, and decided after a couple of minutes of suffering through it that it was a good time to go use the latrine. I returned to the living room right before it ended. The one song of hers that I actually like she didn't perform, so the halftime show was a major fail to me. And it was obvious to me that she was signaling to the world that she's pregnant because she kept holding her stomach as pregnant women tend to do.

Super Bowl halftime shows are always crummy, so before the first commercial at the end of the second quarter I change channels to "Puppy Bowl." There I can see real dogs in action instead of imbeciles cavorting on a football field singing unmelodic noise with a cast of characters showing off a new dance, world premier of the "Klutz."

They needed to be thinking about what they had done right and what they had done wrong in the first half, and develop some ways to do less wrong and more right, in response to what they had learned from playing the opposition team for one half.
They aren't there for entertainment. This is a professional sport, and this is the most important game of the season. They needed to be focused on their play and how to improve it.

A funnier show was when the team gave Andy a beautifully wrapped Christmas present. He open it to find...a hamburger. The team was watching that on, and howling, and so was Andy.

The US Tax Code should be amended to provide that there is no tax deduction for professional sports, including the Super Bowl, and including all of the private airplanes and before and after parties.

Why that big meanie! Must be a racist too.
God forbid that they make plans for the next half, rest a bit, treat injuries, have a snack etc.

Were the Phillies players watching the show? If so, that might explain why the 2nd half played out as it did.
These guys weren't there to watch a show, they were there to put forward their best performance in one of the most important events of their professional careers. If I were a coach I would have totally ignored the halftime stuff.

That’s Coach Reid. His players love him and wanted to win the game for him. The stinking halftime show was not important. I read that the halftime show took up most of the field and that contributed to a slippery surface for the second half. Get rid of that nonsense. One other funny thing. Since Dr. Jill was at the game, and the Eagles lost, her new name is Dr. jinx.

So is this supposed to be a problem with someone. Halftime is supposed to be where the teams get a rest, tape up and make adjustments to their game plan. AND, remember the Chiefs were down by ten points at halftime. What a stupid article.

Some of the white acts have been comparably wholesome, #25. Remember Madonna? Or that thing that Hannah Montana became?
