A "high-altitude object" has been shot down over Alaska in the past hour, the White House has said. Spokesman John Kirby said the object was "the size of a small car" and was over a sparsely populated area at the time. President Joe Biden took the decision to shoot down the object, which was of unknown origin, Mr Kirby said. It comes after the US shot down a Chinese balloon over its territorial waters last Saturday. Speaking at the White House on Friday, Mr Kirby explained that the object over Alaska was travelling at 40,000ft and could have posed a threat to civilian aircraft. I do not believe this. This is to show Biden as a strong leader after the debacle with the spy balloon. This was created to help with his approval numbers. Or we sent something up just so it could be shot down by our brave and decisive president just protecting his country.

Ok - out of an abundance of caution, why not fly up and take a look. Certainly we have military aircraft that could get close enough to take a few pictures. If it posed a ‘danger’ to commercial aviation it couldn’t have been out of reach of our military.

I’ll withhold my speculation on this. It could be an errant weather balloon from a friendly country. It could also be another Chinese spy balloon with the CCP thinking that FJB would allow another one to traverse the country before shooting it down off the SC coast. Just for the sake of argument, we’ll pretend that everyone (EVERYONE) hasn’t figured it out already. I’ll explain it. #1 #2, #7, #9, and #35 are correct. I have a hunch that whoever’s pulling the strings and trying to make the Biden Administration look at least semi-sentient, decided to launch something, anything, so Traitor Joe could give the order to “shoot it down!” over Alaska and look decisive. Keep it low, nothing over 40,000’. Keep it small, nothing larger that a couple of half-Volkswagens. Make sure it’s unmanned. (Why the heck can’t we use units of measure anymore? Last week’s 200” tall ballon was “about 3 school buses.” Today’s was “a small car.” Remember feet, yards, and meters? They’ll still work, y’all.) Did the plan work? No. He’s still “Weekend at Bernie’s” without the fun friends. To paraphrase #1, it won’t be long till we shoot something important, or worse, something that shoots back. But no more homemade decoy balloons, please. And may God continue to bless America!

The unidentified flying object shot down in Canadian airspace on Saturday appeared to be a "small, metallic balloon with a tethered payload below it," according to a Pentagon memo sent to lawmakers on Monday and obtained by CNN. The memo offers the first official details of one of the three objects shot down in recent days that was previously described as a "cylindrical object." The object crossed near "US sensitive sites" before it was shot down, the memo said. Defense officials also wrote in the memo to lawmakers that the object shot down over Lake Huron, in Michigan on Sunday, "subsequently slowly descended" into the water after impact.

Let’s start with the balloon whose story is the most clear, i.e. the Chinese spy balloon that flew over the US this month. That balloon was shot down over the ocean off the coast of South Carolina. You may have seen photos of portions of the balloon being pulled into a boat. These images were taken last week. Today the DOD released even more photos of the ongoing recovery effort. All of this material appears to be part of the skin of the balloon which was a couple hundred feet across. But the bigger news is that we’ve now recovered a major piece of the payload

Last week, news broke that American Thinker and other conservative internet sites were the subjects of a successful campaign to defund them by telling advertisers that their content was misleading. That’s bad. What’s worse is that we’re learning that the State Department was helping fund the campaign to defund conservative media. The Washington Examiner revealed in a two-part report (here and here) how various organizations claimed to track “disinformation.” That “disinformation,” of course, was anything that countered the Democrat narrative on politics and social issues. American Thinker was among the list of 39 conservative sites that also included Newsbusters, Town Hall, Rush Limbaugh, Daily Wire, Breitbart, etc.

The Pentagon gave a briefing on Sunday evening after yet another unidentified flying object was shot down, this time in US airspace over Lake Huron. Reports began to circulate that the object was an “octagon” and that it didn’t appear to be a balloon. That set off some speculation that the recent rash of UFOs were balloons, likely from China, but that they were simply shaped differently than one would expect. In a pretty shocking statement, though, Gen. Glen VanHerck made it clear that’s not the view of the US military. The UFOs not being balloons would be crazy enough,

The Illinois Department of Human Services is preparing to move 658 recent migrant arrivals into a former Kmart in Chicago for temporary shelter, WTTW News has learned. The 100,000-square-foot store has sat vacant at the corner of 71st Street and Pulaski Road on the city’s Southwest Side since 2016. Sources said the migrants — mostly asylum seekers — will be relocated from the suburbs, where they are currently staying at hotels. According to documents WTTW News obtained, the site was selected because of its nearby resources and because it is in a welcoming neighborhood. But some local officials are not yet ready to roll out the welcome mat.
