During President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, he called for a ban on so-called “assault weapons” in the United States. This issue has been brought up by his administration multiple times since he took office.
In Biden’s remarks, he praised a 26-year-old man named Brandon Tsay who disarmed a gunman last month in a shooting in Monterey Park. Tsay was working at a dance social at Lai Lai Ballroom & Studio when he came face-to-face with the gunman, who had already killed people at another ballroom in the area.
“Two weeks ago, during Lunar New Year celebrations, he [Tsay] heard the studio’s front door close

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) announced what has been described as the “largest tax relief proposal” in the Sunshine State’s history, which includes permanent sales tax relief on baby and toddler necessities, gas stoves, and more.
Speaking in Marion County, DeSantis briefly highlighted the state of affairs economically in Florida, noting that the state has one of the lowest per capita tax burdens in the country and no income tax while promising to “keep it that way.” “We also have one of the lowest per capita debt burdens in the country,” he said, touting the state’s top status in terms of the formation of new businesses,

Larry Elder is running for president in 2024 and could announce as early as April, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.
The right-wing political commentator all but legally filed to run for president on Wednesday, telling conservative host Steve Hilton in a podcast recording to air Thursday that he will be entering the primary contest to take on President Donald Trump in the Republican primary.
Elder thinks that the biggest domestic issue 'by far' in the U.S. is children being born to parents who are not married.
The black conservative radio host appears to want to address some race issues in the U.S. from the conservative perspective.

WASHINGTON — A trio of former bigwigs at Twitter told the House Oversight Committee Wednesday they could not recall major facts about the decision to suppress The Post’s bombshell October 2020 stories on Hunter Biden’s laptop — though one claimed the decision was based in part on the social media giant’s own echo chamber rather than the demands of federal law enforcement.
Under questioning led by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), former Twitter deputy general counsel James Baker, ex-head of trust and safety Yoel Roth and former policy director Vijaya Gadde took turns deflecting allegations of “collusion” between the FBI and Twitter to censor The Post.

President Joe Biden said Wednesday that he didn't believe the House GOP's probe into his son Hunter and brother James' foreign business dealings would have an impact on his presidency.
'The public's not going to pay attention to that. They want these guys to do something,' Biden said. 'It's not going to go very far.'
The president sat down for a wide-ranging post-State of the Union interview with PBS NewsHour's Judy Woodruff, which included the admission that he hadn't made a final decision to run in 2024.
'I haven't made my decision, that's my intention, but I have not made that decision firmly yet,' he said.

The proposal is now open to public comment until May 7.
The program would monitor employer compliance based on actual annual tip revenue and charge tip data from an employer's point-of-sale

I’m not the only one that was aghast at how poorly Joe Biden delivered what could be one of his last State of the Union addresses. It formed the foundation for his 2024 pitch, so we can expect more of the same in the coming months before we’re deep into presidential election season. The problem for Democrats is that he was barely cogent. It was evident the president couldn’t read or follow most of the State of the Union address. Some of the lines had clear mental misfires riddled into the delivery, like Joe’s quip about asking Chief Justice John Roberts for a restraining order against his wife, Jill,

Former President Donald Trump is ahead of his potential 2024 Republican challengers by double digits, a Tuesday Morning Consult survey found.
The survey showed Trump leading his closest potential challenger, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), by 18 percent, garnering 49 percent support compared to the governor’s 31 percent.
No other potential challenger comes close, as former Vice President Mike Pence falls to third place with just seven percent support. Former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, who is reportedly slated to announce a presidential bid this month, comes in fourth place with three percent support, followed by former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) with two percent and Sen. On Wednesday, former top executives at Twitter appeared before the House oversight committee to give testimony regarding the social media giant’s management of information related to the interference of the 2020 election and Joe Biden’s son.
The hearing marks the start of the agenda of the newly-Republican controlled House, highlighting their focus on long-standing claims that major tech companies exhibited a bias against conservatism.
At one point during the hearing, Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert appeared to catch former Twitter executive Yoel Roth in a lie.
The moment came as Boebert was discussing how her Twitter account had previously been suspended.

When the Dobbs decision was handed down, there was much cause for celebration among those on the right. I remained skeptical. First, I believe that it is going to be impossible to legislate or litigate abortion out of existence. I think that requires a change of heart on the part of abortion proponents. And I’m not holding my breath. Second, I knew that the Left would never take no for an answer on the matter.
I was not surprised by the protests, the guerrilla warfare tactics of attacking pro-life centers, or the efforts to find workarounds to get women to states that offered abortions.

“President” Biden went off-script several times during his State of the Union address last night, prompting some of the strongest reactions from the politically mixed attendees. But one moment was particularly shocking because it was an incredible admission.
The moment of candor occurred as Biden worked through his prepared remarks on the evil oil industry. According to the official transcript, he was supposed to bash the fossil fuel producers like so: “You may have noticed that Big Oil just reported record profits. Last year, they made $200 billion in the midst of a global energy crisis. It’s outrageous.

The numbers are in for Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday evening, and they aren’t good.
According to CNN’s post-speech poll, Biden’s divisive, dishonest spectacle scored the lowest ratings of any State of the Union since 1998, with just 34 percent saying they had a “very positive” reaction.(Tweet) The press, including CNN, did their best to spin the numbers in Biden’s favor, choosing to focus on the topline number showing 72 percent had a positive reaction. Context is everything, though, and the context of that number is that it’s actually very low compared to other modern presidents, including Donald Trump.

Joe Biden is running for president again and his second State of the Union address was his campaign manifesto headlined by the notion of "finish the job" as his rallying cry.
Most Americans today, however, want Biden to finish up his job and move over for someone else. Clearly, this president has no intention of backing down from an all-out effort to stay in office even as polls show a majority of Democrats want him to stick to one term.

Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has made the sensational claim that the United States was behind the bombing of the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline in September last year.
Writing in his blog on Substack on Wednesday, Hersh said US Navy divers planted explosives at the pipelines in June last year, under the guise of BALTOPS 22 NATO exercise. The article says that the bombing of the Nord Stream pipeline was the culmination of months-long planning and preparations by the US. President Joe Biden and all his top leadership team participated in a series of top secret discussions in the lead-up to the act.

Has (sic) affirmative action hiring practices caused overall competence to plummet? The record appears to show exactly that.
For no good reasons whatsoever, competence was allowed to die on the vine in order to give the less competent a leg up. Not equality but superiority rules the hiring, firing, and education of Americans. Worse, many of those who were affirmatively hired do not do as good a job as those whose excellence was obvious. You can see it in customer service, which for many businesses is abysmally incompetent. There is a resentful casualness in those who are hired to serve others that would not have been acceptable even two decades ago.

Many viewers sitting through Biden’s State of the Union address noted his rushed delivery. I wrote, “His pathetic rant, breathy, rushed, angry.”
One reason for the rushed delivery is that he was trying to get in too many lies.
Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday set the record for most words spoken at a such a speech in six decades, beating the former lead by just one word.

Like Nero bragging about rebuilding Circus Maximus after burning it down, Joe Biden took to the podium tonight to take credit for solving a slew of problems he helped create.
At the top of his State of the Union address, the president boasted that he had “created more jobs in two years than any president created in four years.” No president — not Joe Biden nor Donald Trump — creates jobs. But Biden’s contention was exceptionally misleading, considering he inherited an economy that had been unplugged by an artificial, state-induced shutdown. If the government compels businesses to shutter, it doesn’t “create” jobs when allowing them to open.

Joe Biden used Tuesday night's State of the Union to tout his economic accomplishments, express his optimism for the future and urge Republicans to work with him.
However, it became an unusually chaotic night as many Republicans loudly voiced their anger at some of Biden's claims, particularly over his administration's handling of the fentanyl crisis, with cries of 'liar!', 'it's all your fault' and 'secure the border'.
Biden attempted to hit back and continued to call for bipartisanship, but the message that is set to underpin his likely reelection announcement was repeatedly attacked.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand -- New Zealand police said Wednesday they found more than 3 tons of cocaine floating in a remote part of the Pacific Ocean after it was dropped there by an international drug-smuggling syndicate.
While they had yet to make any arrests, police said they had dealt a financial blow to everyone from the South American producers of the drugs through to the distributors in what was the nation's largest-ever drug seizure.
New Zealand Police Commissioner Andrew Coster said the cocaine had been dropped at a floating transit point in 81 bales before it was intercepted by a navy ship, which was deployed to the area last week.

Governing is another matter. He sucks like a Shark vacuum.
The Washington Post reported, “Americans not feeling impact of Biden agenda, Post-ABC poll finds.”
Of course, they are feeling the impact of his agenda. Inflation remains at 1970s levels, we humiliated ourselves by surrendering Afghanistan, and we are depleting our military to protect Ukraine’s border while ignoring our own.

One has to admire the brilliant highjacking of the American election process. It was multi-level, using hundreds, if not thousands of tactics, and planned down to the last compromised County Councillor and State Elections Official. Laws were ignored, ridden over, broken, transduced and corrupted into worthless paper.
For every Republican election worker in the field, there are 100 Democrat activists.
Last week Christina Bobb, one time OAN anchor, former Marine and Judge Advocate, now President Trump’s attorney, released her book describing what happened after the 2020 steal. Bobb covered the election on the day, and in the weeks afterwards travelled ceaselessly, reporting on the aftermath.

During his State of the Union address, Joe Biden once again blamed Vladimir Putin for inflation.
“Inflation has been a global problem because a pandemic directly disrupted our supply chains and Putin’s unfair and brutal war in Ukraine disrupted energy supplies, as well as food supplies, blocking all that grain and Ukraine.”
The pandemic certainly did have a negative impact on the worldwide economy, but the inflation rate in January 2021, when he took office, was a mere 1.4%, which was on par with the average inflation rate of 1.2% for all of 2020. Inflation started going up after Biden took office, and peaked at 9.1% in June of 2022.

The public health community is nothing if not determined to keep COVID on everyone’s mind, so much so that it is now playing up the alleged horrors of “long COVID,” the symptoms of which are vague enough that just about anyone could probably claim to have it.
There is, however, a genuine long-COVID crisis. But it has nothing to do with the virus. At least not directly. It’s the fact that Democrats used the pandemic to quietly but dramatically expand government dependency, knowing that once in place, these expansions will be hard to uproot. Republicans, naturally, were clueless about what the left was up to.

Over the last week, the Biden administration announced to the entire world, through inaction, that the United States is the weakest, most impotent it’s ever been, as a Chinese spy balloon was allowed to fly freely and unimpeded over a vast swath of the continental United States while Pentagon leaders hemmed and hawed and struggled to answer even basic questions from the White House Press Corps. Even when the Chinese government hilariously claimed it was just a weather balloon used for agricultural purposes, nobody in the administration hit back.
We learned Tuesday afternoon that on Saturday, shortly after the balloon was finally downed, China

In celebrating Black history month this year, I thought it would be fitting to finally recognize a triumph of African American literature that has, ironically, been falsely accused of racism. That achievement is embodied in a 1946 Walt Disney movie entitled Song of the South. I assume many of you have not seen the film because Disney has succumbed to the accusations of racism by refusing to re-release it in any form. Nonetheless, you may at least recognize the film’s buoyant Academy Award winning song, “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” which arguably forms the musical backbone of the movie.

Republican Rep. George Santos positioned himself in a prime location for President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address — an uncomfortably prominent place for the embattled new lawmaker who faces multiple investigations and has acknowledged embellishing and even lying about his life story.
Santos’ presence at the center aisle to see and be seen with the arrivals was met with a stern rebuke from a fellow Republican, Sen. Mitt Romney.
“You don’t belong here,” the Utah Republican scolded Santos as he entered the House chamber and spotted the New York Republican on the aisle.

In his victory speech after winning a second gubernatorial term in November, Republican Ron DeSantis proclaimed his state of Florida is where “woke goes to die.” He’s been at war with the ideology since his first term, taking on some of the most powerful organizations, businesses and politicians in the country promoting it and trying to spread the woke virus to our children. He’s most famously been at odds with Disney, which has increasingly injected woke messaging into its content marketed for America’s kids.
The liberal media scoffed. No one’s pushing woke. He’s fighting a made-up enemy. It’s baloney — and Disney just proved it. In a sinister cartoon

Former President Donald Trump responded to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address Tuesday night, focusing on the mass illegal immigration taking place at the southern border, crime, drops in real wages, and “corruption.”
“Here’s the real State of the Union: Over the past two years under Biden, millions and millions of illegal aliens from 160 different countries have stormed across our southern border,” said Trump, the lone GOP candidate officially in the 2024 primary field.
Since Biden assumed office in January 2021, 4.2 million migrants have been apprehended by Border Patrol agents along the southern border, marking a record high,

President Joe Biden's State of the Union address kicked off with a sudden smooch between first and second couple members and yet another bold fashion move by influential Sen. Kyrsten Sinema.
The early fireworks opened up a speech that typically devolves into policy lists and platitudes as the night wears on
Tuesday night's prime time event featured angry exchanges between Biden and House Republicans who booed him for claiming they want to 'sunset' Social Security and Medicare.
Sinema made a bold entrance into the House chamber for the speech, after forcing Washington to hold its collective breath during talks on the Inflation Reduction Act, then later announcing she had switched from Democrat to independent.

Joe Biden used his State of the Union to tout his economic accomplishments, express his optimism for the future, and urge Republicans to work with him.
However, many Republicans took the opportunity to point out that some of the claims he made in his speech on Tuesday night did not stack up.
Eric Schmitt, senator for Missouri, said: 'I think it was a state of delusion, not a State of the Union speech.'
Former President Donald Trump added: 'The good news is we are going to reverse every single crisis, calamity and disaster that Joe Biden has created.

In her Republican rebuttal to the State of the Union address Tuesday, newly elected Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that the Biden administration has been hijacked by the woke left, fostering an absurd political environment in which “the choice is between normal or crazy.”
Sanders, who previously served as press secretary to former president Trump, began her speech by drawing a generational juxtaposition with Biden, noting that, at 40, she’s the youngest sitting governor, while Biden is the oldest ever sitting president.
“I’m the first woman to lead my state. And he’s the first man to surrender his presidency to a woke mob that can’t even tell you what woman is,”
