In her Republican rebuttal to the State of the Union address Tuesday, newly elected Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that the Biden administration has been hijacked by the woke left, fostering an absurd political environment in which “the choice is between normal or crazy.”
Sanders, who previously served as press secretary to former president Trump, began her speech by drawing a generational juxtaposition with Biden, noting that, at 40, she’s the youngest sitting governor, while Biden is the oldest ever sitting president.
“I’m the first woman to lead my state. And he’s the first man to surrender his presidency to a woke mob that can’t even tell you what woman is,”

She did a wonderful job addressing the problems with the Biden Administration. In this age where mainstream media doesn't give time for such topics, rebuttal of the State of the Union is one time when people can be reached through MSM; so, she was heard.

I don’t know if any of you heard what I believe was a hidden message in her speech but she kept saying it’s time the younger generation stepped up and that we need a younger perspective. She said that about two or three times. Was that a dig on Trump? Does she believe he is too old? Is she not going to support him? Maybe I am reading too much in her comments but that phrase did stand out to me. Any thoughts? By the way, I thought she did a fine job.

I didn't bother watching the Kumquat-in-Chief spew his bs due to the fact that my time is valuable. I did listen this morning during my long commute into work SHS's rebuttal. She was short and to the point. Especially when she highlighted that this is a battle between normal and crazy. Such as it's crazy to believe that they're more than two genders. That men feeling that they're women can compete in women's sports and that China isn't our enemy.

#8, i missed the SOTU and Gov. Sander's response. But several things - 1) she has left the door open for herself to run in 2024, 2) she believes having an 80-something sitting at the Resolute Desk is very bad for the country and was referring to biden the cheater and his frail health 3) yes, she may believe President Trump is past his sell-by date, 4) Sanders may believe that DeSantis should run in 2024, and 5) all of the above.

I just did play Gov. Sander's 15-minute SOTU response. Very well done. She went to a lot of trouble to express gratitude for the experience of traveling to Iraq with President Trump and Melania in 2018 to speak to our troops on Christmas Day. Interesting though that she did not refer to him by name. Her comments didn't sound like an attempt to cast Trump aside, not at all. Her respect for him as a person and as our former Commander in Chief is obvious. Overall, her response represented a call to the youth of the Republican Party to step up and lead America while not expressing preference to anyone.

The first definition of " crazy " is mentally deranged. The left is that plus a seething hatred of anyone that does not go along with their plans for world wide domination. Their hatred is such that elimination of those people is just another day at the office.

She did a terrific job of not only exposing Biden's lies but also presenting the contrast between "normal and crazy." And she also represents the new wave of young, competent Republican leaders, particularly the governors like herself, DeSantis , and Youngkin. I believe it's time for the new generation of leaders to take the reins.

#8, I had the same reaction as you to Sarah’s response. I thought she did a good job, but her repeated comment about needing a new generation of Republicans in charge stood out to me as well.
I’m not quite ready for the younger generation to be at the helm on the national level right now under the precarious world situation this Democrat Administration has brought about, and the very concerning circumstances of our security apparatus & military leadership. China still has an older, more experienced wiser guy in control of things in his own country, & apparently more than he should be here in our country as well! The wonderful story Sarah told about the reaction of our troops that Christmas, when PDJT came unexpectedly to be with them in Iraq, is exactly why we need President Trump at the helm! He is an undeniably strong Patriotic Leader! We need him to finish the job he started, if he can. If he can’t do it, I seriously doubt that anyone can, and certainly not anyone with no experience on that level.

Lou Dobbs and Steve Bannon nailed it on War Room this morning for the MAGA response. The speech obviously heavily influenced by National Governor’s Assn. President Trump never mentioned BY NAME. This is the GOPe narrative and she did a very good job for them.

Didn't hear Sarah's rebuttal because I went to bed early and avoided the Washington DC Chronicles...from both sides...I'm sure the next two years won't get better....but...at least WE only have two more years of chaos to live with....

I enjoyed Biden's speech last night because I could use the time to watch three episodes of Forensic Files, episodes I'd never seen before! Then I watched Sarah. Like DeSantis, she was clear, organized, and disciplined in why Biden has failed the country. And it is time for a new generation.

#8~ As usual, an excellent observation and worthy of not only contemplation, but caution as well, especially as noted by #20 pointing out the commentary by Lou Dobbs and Steve Bannon on the War Room this morning: “the speech was heavily influenced by the National Governor’s Association; the speech being the GOPe narrative, and her having done a good job for them.”
Steve Bannon said Sarah does not exist politically except for President Trump--he made her, and for her to go out of her way to not mention him and then tell the story about the Christmas trip to Iraq was an insult; that the speech was like something written by Ron DeSantis and the entire RGA (Republican Governors Association). He said to give a counter-speech, it is necessary to go to the heart of the matter like the debt ceiling, the CCP; wokeism is important, but not the heart of the matter right now.
According to Lou Dobbs, Sarah not mentioning President Trump and the First Lady is a great insult when talking about the Christmas trip to Iraq in the dark of night; to talk about new leadership was unacceptable; it was as though much of it was written by the National Governor’s Association and aligned itself with Ron DeSantis; otherwise, it was a terrific speech. He said the speech is a metaphor for what the donor class is trying to do to President Trump right now, using President Trump’s four years as a template and model for a RINO running for president.
https://warroom.org/2023/02/08/sarah-huckabees-rebuttal-was-an-insult-to-president-trumps-triumphant-four-years/
As for Sarah’s repetition of needing a younger generation, there is the possibility of her meaning the swamp. However, as noted by #17 and #23, with the world in a very precarious situation right now, this country needs a leader with “experience, knowledge and wisdom” which comes with age. With all due respect, President Trump is like fine wine—aged well, superior quality, yields experience, knowledge and wisdom.

Wow. I didn't see her response yesterday, but if it is anything like the above entree' taste, she hit it out of the ballpark. Mike Huckabee should be busting his buttons with pride for his daughter. She is great.
