The latest documents released from Twitter details how the company was pushed into the arms of the FBI following pressures from Democrats.  In the new installment of the Twitter Files, journalist Matt Taibbi broke down the stress the company was under in 2017 following calls from Democrats for social media companies to crack down on Russian misinformation.  According to emails from Twitter's leadership, the company was initially focusing on passing any blame to Facebook, touting that Twitter had only a few accounts with 'suspected Russian origin.'

The U.S. National Park Service has closed Dry Tortugas National Park in the Florida Keys after hundreds of migrants arrived on the islands over the New Year's weekend. The NPS temporarily closed the park to public access on Monday morning after an estimated 300 migrants landed in the park, according to a news release. Idaho murders suspect Bryan Kohberger waived extradition on Tuesday during a brief court hearing and is expected to be transported back to the college town where he is accused of murdering four college students in cold blood.  Kohberger, 28, denies the murders but is not fighting extradition. He says he is eager to get back to Idaho, where he can answer the charges formally.  The criminology PhD student was arrested at his parents' house in Pennsylvania on Friday. They were among those in court in Stroudsburg on Tuesday, but covered their faces with COVID masks, hats and hoods to evade the media.

The 24-year-old collapsed on the field after a first-quarter tackle during the Bills’ “Monday Night Football” game against the Bengals in Cincinnati. Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest before collapsing on the field and being rushed to a local hospital, the Bills announced late Monday evening. The 24-year-old safety tackled Bengals receiver Tee Higgins near the end of the first quarter of their “Monday Night Football” matchup. As Hamlin attempted to get back to his feet following the collision, he fell back down to the ground. Teammates frantically waved in medical staff as the situation quickly grew dire, and an ambulance rushed Hamlin off the field and to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in what quickly became a terrifying scene. Democrats aren’t coping well with their loss of power, having been partially dethroned during the last mid-terms. As happened during the Obama years, many on the left had once again convinced themselves a permanent majority was attainable, but just two years later, those hopes have been dashed, and now we stand on the precipice of a new GOP-led House of Representatives. Nancy Pelosi’s replacement, Hakeem Jeffries, seems to be pretty wound up about it. He put out a tweet on Monday evening that sounds very insurrection-like. There’s a lot to comment on here, not the least of which is the idea that Jeffries or anyone else should interfere
