Republican Kevin McCarthy has lost three rounds of voting to become the next Speaker of the House of Representatives, the first time a nominee has been defeated in a century.
The House has now adjourned and will vote again on Wednesday.
The historic losses do not immediately end Mr McCarthy's candidacy.
But it is unclear how he can convince 20 Republican rebels to back him. There are only 222 Republicans in the chamber this year so the representative from California could only afford to lose four votes from his party. In each of the first two rounds he secured only 203 votes - and in the third round an extra

In an historic departure from historical precedent/expectation, we must now retire in anticipation of a "new dawn" that could be like the old dawn. Or like a new one.
Traitors and mendacious kleptocrats hold the reins of ill-gotten power at the moment.
Will the RINO element of the Uniparty win out later this week?
Will the courts weigh in a meaningful measure as to whether or not we can "vote our way out" of this?

The media is making the wimpy Republics look so stupid, claiming that those Republicans could well elect the Socialist Democrat Hakeem Jefferies as their speaker. The chances of that are slim to none, but if it were to happens no Republican voters should ever vote to re-elect anyone currently in the entire Republican congressional conference.

McCarthy will not obtain the necessary votes without major concessions. The 20 Republicans are tired of having no say in legislation, all agreed by midnight omnibus no one has read, or understands, with no amendments allowed. The 20 Republicans are tired of the party platform saying reducing government, and the Rino's and Democrats increasing the size of government every year. The 20 Republicans are tired of government spending limits forever exceeded and increased, and are ready for a government shutdown. McCarthy has made no concessions up to now, knowing where he stood. McCarthy is unlikely to be easier to work with if the 20 were to cave. I think we need a new Speaker. We are getting nothing from McCarthy.

Never underestimate the dims. What’s the old saying, “when the goin’ gets tough, the weird turn pro.
I think tonight staff chiefs of Hakeem and McCarthy are meeting to discuss how many dims will need to miss roll call tomorrow and thereby lower the number mccarthy needs to obtain a majority. Tomorrow x number don’t show, Kevin wins the vote and then owes the dims his position……In chess hakeem calls CHECK on the new speaker and wins without lifting a finger

This is how it will come down: Jim Jordan throws his support behind McCarthy after securing committee chairs to be filled with Jordan's cronies. Jordan's crew then votes Kevin in. See how easy that is?

Hold out for a person with a Biblical worldview, who is a Jesus-loving conservative and is a flag-waving gun-loving, marriage between a man and woman believer, and who supports the second amendment. Find that person and you found the Speaker.

I've heard interviews with McCarthy and he says all the right things. Problem is, just like McCain he says one thing and then does another after the election. He is no more honorable than any other DC swamp rat. If he wins, dont trust him. His word means nothing.

So at the moment there is no Speaker. If Quid Pro Joe and Heels Up were beamed up to the mothership, who would be POTUS?

Never forget that this pantomime occurred earlier in the form of Paul Ryan who promised conservatives a voice to get the speakership then turned the agenda over to the Chamber of Commerce and the Democrats. Wash, rinse, repeat.

When McCarthy got super egotistical yesterday and said he had "earned" the speaker's position, he massively shot himself in the foot. He needs to learn from his fellow Demon-Rats that you always lie until you get what you want, then you let the truth be known.
I guess the weight of being a lie-beral Demon-Rat, but pretending you are a Republican, just gets to be too much at times for McCarthy!!!!!

Lord God, Almighty…
Please end this evil in America,
and by Your Grace and Wisdom ‘for such a time as this,’
may Jim Jordan be our next Speaker, or someone else who loves You and Your Word
and America with honor and commitment.
Amen and Amen.

#13, I also saw something to the effect that he had already moved into the speakership office? As I have said many times, politicians have become bloated, gluttonous, self-serving, and they lean on their own understanding. In effect, rather than them serving the American people, the American people are serving them. And it shows when we cannot even get election fraud addressed.

I submit that McCarthy is already well trained in that activity which is why so many Reps who are not yet converted are resisting.

All those wimpy Republican arguments should have been ironed out long before it became time to elect a new Republican speaker. Currently the liberal media, and even the supposedly conservative Fox News Channel are mulling over the wimpy Republicans coalescing with the Democrats to elect a moderate Democrat speaker regardless of the fact that the wimpy Republicans gained the majority in the House of Representatives in the recent election. If the wimpy Republicans ever cave and allow a Democrat to gain the position of speaker, the Democrats are pushing for Hakeem Jefferies a socialist Democrat to be elected as the next speaker, no future Republican voter should ever vote to re-elect any member of the current wimpy Republican conference.
