For Conservatives To Win, Republicans
Must Get Comfortable Using Power

Original Article

If, as some recent polls suggest, Florida’s popular governor, Ron DeSantis, is able to mount a serious primary challenge to former President Trump, it will be because the governor understands political power is meant to be used. If DeSantis runs and wins, it will be because he persuaded Republican voters that he will be a more effective leader than Trump — not because he repudiated the former president’s policies or followers. The governor’s appeal is founded on his use of power. In this, he contrasts with the many conservatives who, upon gaining power, tend to be like the dog who caught the car — unsure what to do with it.

Republican and Conservative are not the same. It can also be said that the GOP is no longer attached to the the ideals that once defined Republicanism. In fact, the GOP is closer to the Democrat Party than it is to any of its base. Speaking for myself I can no call myself a Republican because the Party abhors me and likewise I have grown to abhor it. The problem is that too many Conservatives still identify with the GOP and the Brand Republican and as long as that continues the ideas and principles of Conservatism will remain tainted and action incapable.

Why would they bother? Most Pubbies think there should be comity between the parties : ('across the aisle'), and with power there's responsibility. Republicans get just as wealthy being a minority and take much less flac from the media. I feel like a man without a country.

They need to get downright Machiavellian with the Rats. Too many in the GOP still see the Rats as "our friends across the aisle." First thing they need to realize is that the Rats are not our friends. The Adam Schiffs of the world will chuck every single Republican into the gas chamber the first chance they get.

For starters, "Conservative" is a meaningless label. No one knows what it means, so stop confusing everyone. As far as I can tell "Republican" means "undeclared Democrat". Republicans are extremely comfortable using power - to squash any Patriot Freedom movement, to enable totalitarian socialism, to condemn future generations to debt slavery, to promote perpetual foreign wars, to protect the interests of the ruling class oligarchy. Stop voting for Republicans.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison told news outlets that he was informed that Derek Chauvin was stabbed. Mr. Ellison, a Democrat who prosecuted Mr. Chauvin, said that Mr. Chauvin was in stable condition. "I am sad to hear that Derek Chauvin was the target of violence," Mr. Ellison said. "He was duly convicted of his crimes and, like any incarcerated individual, he should be able to serve his sentence without fear of retaliation or violence."

Several doctors who were in the emergency room when former President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963 raised serious doubts about the official narrative that says a lone gunman was responsible, according to a new documentary featuring interviews conducted in 2013. The federal Warren Commission established that two shots fired by lone gunman Lee Harvey Oswald, who was located in the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository, struck President Kennedy from behind as he was traveling in a motorcade in Dallas. One of the bullets entered his upper back and exited near his larynx, while the second bullet entered the right

Republicans on Saturday swept three statewide runoff elections in Louisiana, securing wins in the races for attorney general, secretary of state, and treasurer. The three victories mean that Republicans secured every statewide elected office for the first time since 2015, the year Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards won the first of his two terms in office. Mr. Edwards’ successor is Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, a Republican who won outright in October and avoided a runoff. On Nov. 18, Liz Murrill was elected as attorney general and Nancy Landry was elected as secretary of state, becoming the first women to hold their positions in the state. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said Monday to CBS News that Israel did not have a right “to kill 12,000 people in six, seven weeks” in response to the October 7 terror attack. Sanders said, “Well, this was how I respond. Look, Israel was attacked in an absolutely horrific way by Hamas, 1,300 innocent people were slaughtered. Israel has a right to defend itself, but what Israel does not have a right to do, in my view, is to kill 12,000 people in six, seven weeks, two-thirds of whom are women and children. That they don’t have right to do, that’s a violation of international law.”
