Republicans Sweep 3 Major State Offices

Republicans on Saturday swept three statewide runoff elections in Louisiana, securing wins in the races for attorney general, secretary of state, and treasurer. The three victories mean that Republicans secured every statewide elected office for the first time since 2015, the year Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards won the first of his two terms in office. Mr. Edwards’ successor is Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, a Republican who won outright in October and avoided a runoff. On Nov. 18, Liz Murrill was elected as attorney general and Nancy Landry was elected as secretary of state, becoming the first women to hold their positions in the state. John Fleming was elected as treasurer.

Of course, we won't see the media and the Dims, but I repeat myself, gushing over how this suggests a Red sweep of the 2024 elections, like they did over the expected win by the Dims in blue Virginia, etc.

Finally!!!!!! I can't tell you how Louisiana has suffered under 8 years of Democrat rule. Yes, the majority of the state is Rebublican. But the Goobernor of the state has blacked every attempt to bring Louisiana into the 21st century. Our Dem goobernor has used his office to advance everything Obambi and Biden have failed to advance at a national level. The legislature, Executive and most local and Parrish level offices are in the Rebublican camp. Unfortunately, Louisiana Rebublicans have allowed a minority voting block, quotas, to scare the bee-jeezous out of reform. Hopefully that will change.

This is nit-picking but, I'm am totally fed up with the highlighting of a persons plumbing. I don't give a tinkers damn about it, I'm more interested in their qualifications and platforms, these three seem well qualified: FTA: ''On Nov. 18, Liz Murrill was elected as attorney general, and Nancy Landry was elected as secretary of state, becoming the state’s first women to hold the key roles.''

Several House Republicans called for establishing a new House investigation of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol breach after new security footage was released. Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-Ga.) wrote that the release of the new tapes is "not enough" and that there needs to be a probe for the "lies, deceit, and lives ruined." The lawmaker then called on House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to create a new select committee. She criticized the previous Congress's Jan. 6 panel that was chaired by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.).

FORT DODGE, Iowa–Hours before former President Donald Trump took the stage here, his campaign sent out a text message declaring his intent: "I'm in Iowa today to wrap up the primary." Speaking to a full house of about 3,000 people at the Fort Dodge Senior High School gymnasium on Nov. 18, the former president reminded folks that the Hawkeye State's first-in-nation caucuses were just 58 days away. "All over the world, they're going to be watching this," he said, adding, "We want to make sure we have a big victory."

While specific details of the conversation will assuredly remain under wraps, a White House readout of the discussion indicates that Biden and Xi covered a variety of hot-button issues, including Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Israel’s defense against Hamas terrorists in the Middle East, and Taiwan. The two leaders also agreed to revive communications between the U.S. and Chinese militaries.

The process of auto-beatification among the educated in the West seems more prevalent than ever. Possessed, as they believe, of knowledge, wisdom, and generosity, they believe also that they are the conscience of society who therefore ought rightly play a directing role in it. They have what Thomas Sowell, the great American economist and social theorist, calls “the vision of the anointed,” derogation from which would be a sign of moral and intellectual weakness. For them, all desiderata are reconcilable, and the world can be made not only just, but fair. Perhaps not coincidentally, the cost of all this will be borne by others.

According to NASA, three of the world’s most complete temperature tracking records, maintained by NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Climatic Data Center, and the U.K. Meteorological Office’s Hadley Centre, began in 1880. Although sporadic attempts to measure temperature were made, “there are too few data before 1880 for scientists to estimate average temperatures for the entire planet,” NASA notes.
