The Walt Disney Co. seems to have admitted "its controversial political and social agenda" has hurt the company and shareholders, according to Jonathan Turley. Turley, a George Washington University law professor and Fox News contributor, used the 300th birthday of famed economist Adam Smith, whose "invisible hand" metaphor explained how people could exercise their choice between particular products, to put a spotlight on Disney's struggles.
"Disney appears to acknowledge that Smith’s invisible hand is giving the ‘House of Mouse’ the middle finger. In a new corporate disclosure, Disney acknowledges that its controversial political and social agenda is costing the company and shareholders," Turley wrote in a piece for The Hill.

Really? Losing the cushy deal with the state of Florida and making bomb after bomb costing a billion dollars.
Was it worth it, with your far-left politics you killed one of the most beloved brands in the US.
How your stock holders let you get away with it is beyond me.

Disney risks a class-action lawsuit, as their DIE decisions are not in the best interests of the shareholders.

Silly me. I always thought that the Board of Directors and Executive Management had a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders and corporation to provider a return on their investment (make money). Nowhere in the articles of incorporation is Social justice, DEI, political issues, or social issues mentioned. If Disney wanted to delve into Social issues and political issues, they should have become a non-profit company.

Disney is screaming, "Stop me before I woke again!!!" Those orchestrating this care more about agendas than money; so, expect more.

5, they haven't figured anything out. The legal and finance people who write those statements don't make company policy. The people in control don't care that they shoved 6 bombs out the door in just 2023. So far.
The woke will continue.

How sad. These people forgot all about Walt Disney and what he was trying to create. You know why it is sad for me? Some of the few times I had with my dad or brother involved trips to Disneyland. Even though our relationships were conflicted, going to Disneyland brought us together for a day.
I find it baffling that Disney wanted to get involved in politics. Walt Disney's efforts seem to have been forgotten with the new attitude.

The depraved are different than the rest of us. When you can clearly see you are going in the wrong direction and refuse to make a course correction, you are an ideologue of the highest order. When you run a thriving and beloved business into the ground, you are an irresponsible fool. Their Board of Directors must be in agreement since when they could have insisted upon change, they did not. The company is now toxic. Who would have ever thought that the empire Walt Disney created would become so perverted?

Now the share holders should sue for the removal of all board memebers and sue the same board members for finacial losses due to failure of fiduciary responsibility!!

Disney is still worth a lot of money but you can't keep on taking $300 million losses on animated flops and hope to survive. Their wokeness, "pride" and pedophilia will eventually sink them but I assume that speculators are still buying available reduced-price stock and hoping that the owners will come to their senses.

#7 is correct. I believe the company has admitted that woke is a losing proposition, but has reaffirmed that the message is more important than profits. Or, something like that.
