The American Girl doll brand is facing backlash over a book targeted at prepubescent girls that promotes gender transition seemingly without parental consent.
The book, titled "A Smart Girl's Guide: Body Image," which is marketed to girls ages 3 to 12, encourages children to talk with a doctor if they are questioning their gender identity.
"At first, you and the doctor might talk about wearing the clothes and using the pronouns (like he, she, or they) that make you feel most like the true you," the book reads. "If you haven't gone through puberty yet, the doctor might offer medicine to delay your body's changes,

Another brand destroyed. I'd have thought Mattel would know better.

If it's big and corporate, it's woke.

In my dreams, every American Doll would evaporate right there in the toybox. Long before the silly wokeness began, my only granddaughter put her doll on the shelf by the next Christmas. (Anyone here ever have a Betsy Wetsy doll? Asking for a friend.)

American girl dolls are also made in China as Laura Ingram pointed out last night.

Evil crazies have apparently infiltrated all sorts of companies. Unless this company immediately announces that this was done by a single employee, without management knowledge, and FIRING that employee, and naming them, this company is going to lose huge amounts of business.
I think their business was long past it's peak back when there were American Girl stores in malls, and my now 30 year old nieces had some of their very normal, patriotic dolls....so 20 years ago or so.
Seems like maybe another good American company has probably been bought out by some Chinese interests that are working to destroy the country from within.

Gutfeld and the crew roasted American Girl on this last night.
Tyrus was especially concise on this -- I don't buy books at American Girl and I don't buy toys at the bookstore. Cripes, Tyrus is probably the best voice of reason on the show.
A few too many bleeps that don't need to be used, but Gutfeld is my true "don't miss" King of Late Night..

I had one of the most wonderful, memorable days with one of our granddaughters at the store in NYC about ten years ago. It was a surprise gift for her, and she could barely contain her excitement counting down the days until we were finally on the train.
Pouring over every tiny detail of the gorgeous displays, choosing her new doll, looking at each outfit and accessory, making the final selections for her shopping allowance....and then topping it off in the lovely tea room, laughing about keeping our pinkies up as we sip...what joy! Grandpa was working in the city that day so he met us as we were finishing and was easily talked into a few more purchases. Then on to see the tree.
I concur with others noting that the dolls and their stories allowed girls to not only learn American history but to actually feel like they live it. How depressing to learn that the company is destroying something so precious and innocent.

Many years ago, I was dragged into the American Girl flagship store on Chicago Mag Mile. Later I thought: next to Disney World, their store was one of the most efficient places I had ever seen for separating parents from their money. My sister had a Betsy Wetsy, but the really great doll was Poor Pitiful Pearl.

In a sane world, Mattel would be bankrupt next week. But we don't live in a sane world at all, do we?

Mattel owns American Girl and has since 1998 according to online sources.
So, it is Mattel that is pushing this hideous harm on our children. Mattel needs to get a firestorm of responses from customers.
Tell all your friends and relatives with young children to avoid ALL Mattel products, and contact Mattel to tell them that they will be avoiding their company's products.

Maybe the Amish have it right. Stick to faceless dolls made of leftover scraps of material and stuffed with straw. The kid will be just as happy, and some big liberal corporation won't be getting rich.

At age 3?? Can you imagine a 3-yr old talking to their doctor about their preferred pronouns? These people are monsters. You do not tolerate this behavior; you end it.

When my daughter was little we loved American Girl -- the dolls and the story books. It was all sweet and informative -- historical dolls and innocent accounts of girls during those periods in American history. Once the creator and founder sold the company to Mattell, it all started going downhill, starting with getting rid of most of the history and making the dolls all about me-me-me. I can't see how much lower it can go...wait, yes I can. It's heartbreaking.
