Allowing residents to carry concealed guns without a permit. Combatting the influence of China. Increasing protections for the unborn. Continuing to push back on woke corporations trying to impose their ideological agendas on the state. These are just some of the issues newly reelected Florida governor Ron DeSantis may prioritize next year as he begins his second term at the state’s helm, according to Republican consultants, current and former elected leaders, and people with close ties to DeSantis who spoke to NATIONAL REVIEW. They could also help him as he looks to burnish his credentials as a conservative champion ahead of a potential 2024 presidential run.

Comments:

No big news here, but an account of DeSantis's present and future ideas for Florida, so interesting because he is the most effective and creative governor and should be copied by other governors.

If Trump continues on this "illegal election" kick, DeSantis needs to run. Trump needs a little discipline. You know the election was stolen. I know the election was stolen. Trump knows the election was stolen. Okay. Learn from it and don't let it happen again. As we did in 2020 and 2022.

FTA: A former staffer "expressed some concern about Republicans engaging too much in culture-war fights. 'I don’t like going down this social route as much as we do.'” And that sums up how the liberals end up eating conservative lunches time after time. They work for years to make social issues appear to the public as though the conservatives are "fascists", denying or removing "rights" from the common man, especially the "unfortunate" and "downtrodden." Conservatives have nothing but tradition and past practice in defense. And the cumulative effect is what we see today, a constant corrosion. Our "woke society" demands "more" as they press on. Conservatives need to learn from libs. We now have a "conservative" Supreme Court and a majority of states have conservative governors and legislatures. These ought to the the points of counterattack. And it would help if conservatives could find a common way forward.

If for some reason Trump doesn't want it, DeSantis is the one. In spite of the doubts about his financial backers. But if Trump is still in, DeSantis should do the right thing and throw his unqualified support behind Trump. He can join the Trump Administration in '26 and go on to bigger things.

# 3 - excellent question. It's almost like the democrats are being very quiet about what DeSantis is doing in the hopes he will actually be the nominee for president in 2024. If he does win, then the democrats will come down on DeSantis and he will not know what hit him. They will back anyone and anything if it means they get rid of Trump. I'm a teensy bit unsure about DeSantis. It's all been too easy for him.

WASHINGTON—The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project, and Border Security and Immigration Center, today released new information documenting the scope not just of the Biden border crisis, but the role of non-governmental organizations in facilitating and continuing it. In a new memo titled, “Tracking Movement of Illegal Aliens from NGOs to Interior of USA”, the Oversight Project unveiled new data showing the massive numbers of illegal aliens who have made their way to NGO facilities physically located along the border and in border states, and subsequently traveled throughout the United States.

The media worked hard to bury the FTX scandal. (Snip) The gravediggers hardly had begun to return their shovels to the cemetery shed when there appeared a new story that needed burying. Elon Musk and Matt Taibbi just opened up another crack in the door revealing how outsiders along with the DNC manipulated Twitter in the runup to the election. Not that the shadow banning and actual banning on Twitter of conservative voices wasn’t obvious before, but Musk is inside the belly of the beast and proof of the outrageous behavior at Twitter which preceded his purchase is now being made public, with Musk promising there’s more to come.

What would you think of a person who never asked the price of anything he or she bought? You would assume the person was inordinately wealthy. But if the person wasn’t, you would dismiss him as a fool, and you would certainly never ask this person for advice about how to spend your money. Yet, for two years, that question—“What is the price?”—was avoided by virtually every political leader in the world as well as the vast majority of epidemiologists and physicians, journalists and editors, college presidents, deans, professors, and K-12 teachers. They never asked, “What is the price?” with regard to locking down businesses, schools,

A principle of infectious diseases is “antimicrobial stewardship” which involves choosing the right antibiotic for the right patient and never over-prescribing or blanket covering patients who don’t need treatment. Another principle is “narrowing the spectrum” of a drug once the organism is identified by culture or other methods. These fundamental approaches to the use of antibiotics work to limit the problem of bacterial resistance and the development of “superbugs.” (Snip) This entire thought process has been thrown out the window for COVID-19 vaccines. Within a few months, there was mounting evidence that SARS-CoV-2 easily mutated to escape the reach of antibodies generated by the vaccines

Part 2 is about the clown shows. You may wonder why sexy bo-hunk Larry Hogan feels the need to throw his fat into the ring, or why Chris Christie feels he must literally weigh in, or what deep-seated psychotic urges compel Liz Cheney to embark on another epic fail, or why any of these other total losers want to run. But from the Attorneys General who brought the suit, the plaintiffs in the case and their attorney, and other parties to the lawsuit against the Biden administration, we have some information about the deposition provided by Anthony “I am the Science” Fauci. He has been the face of the pandemic response and stands accused of colluding with Big Tech to suppress dissent in violation of the First Amendment. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) won reelection Tuesday, fending off a spirited challenge from Republican Herschel Walker while helping Democrats grow their thin Senate majority in the midterm elections after a bruising four-week runoff campaign. Warnock was leading Walker 50.4% to 49.6% when the race was called, earning the senator his first, full six-year term after ousting an appointed Republican incumbent in a special election runoff nearly two years ago. Walker’s defeat was a major blow to the Republicans. They capped a disappointing midterm election season with yet another loss that effectively surrendered a Senate seat to the Democrats, who saw their majority grow from 50 to 51.

Some New York lawmakers are renewing the push for a state law that would lay the groundwork to pay reparations to black residents whose ancestors were enslaved. Proponents gained steam after a task force in California last week recommended that the Golden State shell out $569 billion in reparations to slaves’ descendents there, or $223,200 apiece, because of lingering housing discrimination practices. A previously proposed New York measure called for creating a commission to study the impact of slavery and providing reparations but failed to pass the legislature. Reports surfaced two weeks ago that Florida Republicans are considering changing the state’s “resign-to-run” law so Governor Ron DeSantis could throw his hat in the ring for the 2024 presidential nomination without losing his governorship. It is one sign among many that DeSantis, or those close to him, are thinking about taking on Donald Trump in the primary. A word of warning and wisdom to DeSantis: Don’t do it. DeSantis is a promising politician with a real future on the national scene. He should want to be president. But not yet. DeSantis needs to understand his true self-interest. Running for president in 2024 isn’t it.
