Karen Bass takes office as Los Angeles mayor with high hopes, having received a record number of votes, but she faces the immediate challenge of tackling a homeless crisis that has grown worse over recent years. Bass was sworn into office on Sunday by Vice President Kamala Harris — both politicians of color who’ve made history by becoming the first women elected to hold their positions. In her inaugural speech, Bass exhorted the city to work together to ease the homeless crisis and improve public safety. Some of her first actions as mayor will be to declare a state of

She is a lie-beral Demon-Rat. They don't see homelessness as a problem. It's that simple.
It just means that more people are on the "welfare plantation" -- beholden to lie-beral big daddy government to provide for their needs.

Third world leader for a third world city in a third world state. Keep it up and we might have to change all those thirds to fourths.

Bloomberg is ridiculous. Corrupt Karen Bass will out Garcetti former mayor Eric G when it comes to pushing expensive housing for homeless with bazillion n kickbacks. Bass has struck gold.

Overheard on Skype.
Lori "Lite-in-the-Loafers" Lightfoot: "Welcome to the club, there's money to grab everywhere".
Karen "Big-Mouth" bass: "Thanks. Hold my bear."

...Bass, a former community organizer and longtime politician...
Tells you all you need to know. Her solution will no doubt be more bureaucracy and more money for more housing (once again). Funny, though - you won't find any tents pitched in Chinatown. And we know why. As an aside, the former LA County Sheriff, Alex Villanueva, said he was advised 4 years ago that he could be a reformer or he could get re-elected. Well, he tried to be the former and failed to achieve the latter.

Its adorable that democrats actually believe that democrats politicians will actually solve a problem. Any democrat solution results in a plethora of unintended consequences.
I have no doubt, however, that the neighborhood that she lives in will be sparkly clean and free of human debris.

Good luck with that, “hope” is not a strategy. And no doubt Bass is completely beholden to the homeless-industrial complex, along with all the other vested interest poverty pimps feeding at the public trough, issuing reports and grants, ordering studies and litigating against anything that would actually improve things. I lived in Orange County until last year when we fled to Idaho, the OC Board of Supervisors is now majority democrat, so they will get pulled further into LA’s vortex circling the drain.

So what will the big plan be? How much will it cost? What’s going to be different this time? Most homeless people get free money from the government and enjoy their lives. They have no desire to change a thing.

If she treats it like it's a single crisis with a single cause and a single cure, she will fail.

she's a demcommie and
demcommies don't fix anything, they just say they're going to fix the problem and
then find excuses why the problem is unfixable but they still maintain that they can fix the problem
all the time allowing the problem to remain unfixed but
continue to promise that they will fix the unfixable problem but
it will take more money to fix the problem and
the need to raise taxes to fix the problem is of the highest priority and
well, you get my drift, right?

Karen (aptly named) Bass was a racist, ignorant harpy while in Congress. Therefore, I see our second largest city further sliding into the corrupt, unsafe, abyss under her watch.
