Question Fools Don’t Ask of ‘Experts’:
‘What Is the Price?’

Original Article

What would you think of a person who never asked the price of anything he or she bought? You would assume the person was inordinately wealthy. But if the person wasn’t, you would dismiss him as a fool, and you would certainly never ask this person for advice about how to spend your money. Yet, for two years, that question—“What is the price?”—was avoided by virtually every political leader in the world as well as the vast majority of epidemiologists and physicians, journalists and editors, college presidents, deans, professors, and K-12 teachers. They never asked, “What is the price?” with regard to locking down businesses, schools,

Comments:

This is mostly true, but I'm surprised Prager leaves out something he often emphasizes elsewhere: evil. Many of the people in positions of authority profited greatly from the terrible policies, and most of them, I believe, knew the costs or had to work very hard to avoid knowing them.

There is far too much trust in the so-called experts. That's why I fear the next step, which is trust in AI. There is no general AI existing today. That would be akin to a program (yes, these are all computer programs) with the intellect and learning capabilities of a three year-old. Meanwhile, people laud AI programs which used to be called expert programs. A rose by any other name.

Good article by Dennis Prager. Following his lead, what is the most important question that should be asked? I'd suggest: What is the price of having Joseph Biden as President of the United States? (See article posted here today at 3:53 a.m. entitled, "Biden Goes On Slurred Rant...") Look at the reaction on the face of the tall man standing behind Biden. What's happening is way beyond bad optics.

Two weeks to flatten the curve became two years to flatten the serfs, and two years to fatten our purse. The reason terrorism works, is that frightened people will do things against their own best interest; things they would never do otherwise. CV19 was manufactured terrorism.

FTA: "...most people continue to obey fools—because they were taught to assume that there is a linkage between expertise and wisdom." Maybe, or maybe because most people are fools themselves. We've all witnessed many instances of foolishness during prime COVID-mania. And we still see the lone drivers in cars wearing masks. Or, the motorcyclist sans helmet wearing a mask. Who passes up a hand sanitizing station without slathering, even today? At peak mania we had governors like Texas' Greg Abbot who in April '20 mandated a 14-day quarantine for road travelers arriving in Texas from any location in Louisiana enforced by state police border checks. And if anyone bought into the cult of experts, there's PDT, who turned over his bully Presidential pulpit to the heroic Dr. Fauci and others. As Pogo opined, "We have met the enemy, and he is us."

The solution? Return to zero sum budgeting with cost benefit analysis rather than Continuing Resolutions and debt increases decided on a brink of Default Basis. EVERY program/policy of any size forced to endure the rubric of Cost/benefit as well as "IF we were voting to START this program today...would we?" We are currently trapped in a Fund the theory, ignore the Results whirlpool....circling the drain.

The reason the "authorities" didn't question the effects of their COVID policies is that their primary concern was not suppression of a pandemic, but to increase their power.

I wonder if it’s because so many of us lost faith in the federal government after its absurd overreactions, bad public health policies, and demonstrable lies respecting COVID, or is it just the passage of time and changes at the top making it harder to keep secrets, but this week both the FBI and CIA are in the line of fire. Both my parents left this earth under the beneficent care of hospice professionals who kept them comfortable and at peace. Now, one of the nation’s top palliative-care doctors is sounding the alarm. From “Hospice care needs saving,” by Ira Byock: As a palliative care physician who has contributed to hospice care and kept my finger on its pulse for more than four decades, I have been dismayed to witness the increasing frequency and severity in lapses in this type of care.

Americans love to cleave to cultural traditions that have stood the test of time — especially ones that tell stories of the people who formed their communities, stories that reflect the craftsmanship, sacrifice and hard work of those who came before us. When inventor and master tinkerer Joshua Lionel Cowen designed an electric fan operated by dry cells—and then, using the same motor that drove the fan, built a miniature railroad car—he began a business and a movement that has enthralled millions of people young and old. Hobbyists not only bought trains and track, but also often created elaborate homemade displays enjoyed by family and friends over the Christmas holidays.

Rasmussen polled the American people with a simple four question survey and found that my polls were accurate and so was the V-safe data and so was the Israeli Ministry of Health safety report that nobody wants to see. The Rasmussen poll of 1,000 Americans found that: 32% were not vaccinated 7% of those surveyed had a major side effect. A 7% major side effect rate is unprecedented. We know from the V-safe data that this effectively means that the side effect was so bad, they had to seek medical attention. The breakthrough in ancient DNA analysis pushes back the DNA record by 1m years to a time when the Arctic region was 11-19C warmer than the present day. The analysis reveals that the northern peninsula of Greenland, now a polar desert, once featured boreal forests of poplar and birch trees teeming with wildlife. If you are a conservative voter in America today at some point you have to realize you have no representation in the US Senate. No, McConnell said that "providing assistance for Ukrainians to defeat the Russians is the number one priority for the United States right now, according to most Republicans." Really?

The question in the title needs, I believe, critical examination. Why DOES the Left hate Trump so much? The answer, as usual, can largely be found by analyzing history. But first. Do they hate him because the average price of a gallon of gas in his administration was far lower than under Biden? Is it because inflation was low (around 2%) and trending downward? Is it that the USA was energy independent and didn’t need to beg our enemies for oil, deplete our strategic oil reserve or sell it to China? Is it because black and Hispanic unemployment was lower than at any time in history?

Add yet another government overreach to the “Things You Didn’t Think Could Happen in America” file: Democrats on the lame-duck House and Ways and Means Committee voted Tuesday to release six years of former President Donald Trump’s tax returns. Why? Because they um, uh—because they want to? But wait, you say to yourself, that’s not possible; your tax returns are private by federal law, and therefore protected from release. The Dems of course found a sleazy way around that.
