Republican Kari Lake is going to be the next governor of the great state of Arizona and Democrats are losing their minds. The latest indication of the level of desperation of Democrats involves a break-in reported at the campaign headquarters of Lake’s Democrat challenger, Katie Hobbs. Hobbs and the Arizona Democrat Party were quick to point a finger at Lake.
The Hobbs campaign headquarters was burglarized earlier this week. Police were called and some items were reported taken from the headquarters. The break-in happened during the night and no suspect has been identified. The campaign, not the police, later released a photo of a suspect.

Dr. Mehmet Oz has overtaken his Democratic rival, Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, in the Pennsylvania Senate race following the Democrat's much-critiqued performance in the race's sole debate earlier this week.
In the latest InsiderAdvantage poll, Oz led Fetterman by 2.7% among likely voters with 47.5% support to 44.8%. That lead is just inside the survey's +/- 3.6% margin of error, making the race a statistical tie. Conducted Oct. 26 among 750 likely voters, the survey is the first to show Oz leading in the race and the first to feature a survey period exclusively following the debate.

SAN FRANCISCO — Elon Musk has started cleaning house at Twitter with the firings of at least four top executives on Thursday, said two people with knowledge of the situation, as the billionaire closes his $44 billion takeover of the social media company.
The Twitter executives who were fired include Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s chief executive, Ned Segal, the chief financial officer, Vijaya Gadde, the top legal and policy executive, and Sean Edgett, the general counsel, said the people, who declined to be identified because they were not authorized to speak publicly.
At least one of the executives who was fired was escorted out of Twitter’s office, they said.

The new, heavily promoted mRNA booster shots from Pfizer and Moderna are not all they’re cracked up to be, according to two new preprint studies.
The boosters perform no better against Omicron than the fourth jab with the original formulation,” a new study from scientists at Columbia University in New York City found. The updated Covid-19 booster shots have been advertised as “bivalent,” meaning they target the original coronavirus strain as well as the Omicron BA.4/BA.5 subvariants.
However, the Columbia paper found that the newer Omicron variants easily evade both types of boosters, Alex Berenson reported on Substack.

The Biden administration wants to cancel a Trump-era nuclear armed sea-launched cruise missile program, according to a 2022 National Defense Strategy released Thursday.
The intent to cancel the weapon program was listed in the document's "Nuclear Posture Review" section. The United States would still have submarine-launched nuclear weapons.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the weapon isn't needed.
"We determined, as we looked at our inventory, that we did not need that capability. We have a lot of capability in our nuclear inventory," Austin told reporters at the Pentagon.

President Joe Biden’s “11th-hour effort to shift the debate over inflation and the economy” ahead of the midterm elections is to warn voters that Republicans will “trash” the economy, according to the Washington Post.
In a speech earlier this week, Biden warned that Republicans vowing to restrain Biden’s agenda using the power of the purse would result in “more chaos, more inflation and more damage to the American economy.”
“It’ll be the first time in our history America will default,” he claimed.
Recent polls have shown that his and Democrats’ efforts to paint Republicans as threats to democracy have failed to become a motivating issue in the upcoming elections, and that Americans

I frequently comment on podcasts and elsewhere about some of the methodological problems with current opinion polling, but rather than get into the arcana of sampling difficulties, statistical weighting, question design, etc., let me suggest a simpler method of instantly detecting a crappy poll: see if it’s from NBC News.
The latest NBC News poll just out finds that 45 percent of voters approve of Joe Biden’s performance in office, while 47% of registered voters say they prefer Democrats to control Congress, while 46% want a Republican-controlled Congress. The numbers tilt a bit closer to other polls showing much wider Republican margins when the domain moves from registered voters

Florida Democrats are bracing for a very bad night on Nov. 8.
Less than two weeks before the election, Democrats are signaling that key races are slipping away from them. They point to ominous signs and missed opportunities, including the party’s message on abortion rights and gun control that isn’t resonating and a lack of coordination between the campaigns of Rep. Val Demings, who is vying to unseat Sen. Marco Rubio, and Charlie Crist, who is challenging Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Most worrisome for Democrats, national organizations and donors have all but abandoned their candidates — setting off fears that Florida is no longer viewed as competitive.

But because he and his campaign hid the severity of his condition from the media, his party, and especially his opponent, Mehmet Oz, it came as a shock to see the 49-year-old giant of a man in such a confused state.
Whether it was due to hubris or simple denial of reality, Fetterman’s vulnerabilities were exposed for all to see.

Let’s get right to the point: Where are all the splashy full-page ad campaigns from purported Christian “leaders” condemning the moral degeneracy of this Biden administration?
Or does being a “prophetic witness” to the “political class” only gain renewed interest in elite evangelical sectors when the person occupying 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue has an “R” next to his name?
For context, let’s rewind back to 2017.
Shortly after Donald Trump assumed office, he issued an executive order that suspended travel into the United States from seven countries and paused most refugee resettlements for 120 days.

With a week and a half to go until Election Day, a handful of gubernatorial showdowns across the country that were once believed to be anything but competitive have tightened up in the closing days of the 2022 campaign, which could result in November surprises at the ballot box.
In the high-profile race for New York State governor, where polls indicate that Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul and Republican challenger Rep. Lee Zeldin are now locked in a close contest, the two candidates quickly fired away at each other in their singular debate on Wednesday.

With Xi Jinping’s stunning shift back into Maoist totalitarianism, China is destined to become an economic mess once again. China’s opening to the world economy, particularly to the U.S. and Europe, now looks to be over. A new communist dark age will soon descend.
In China’s 20th party congress, which ended last weekend, we saw a very ugly glimpse of the future for the Middle Kingdom.
Not only did Xi cement his position as absolute ruler of the nation of 1.4 billion, but showed he’ll do anything to keep power. The image of an aging former President Hu Jintao apparently forcibly being

Republican Mehmet Oz says the United States ought to boost wages well above the federal minimum wage by unleashing energy jobs for America’s working and middle class.
During Tuesday evening’s Pennsylvania Senate debate, Oz said Democrat John Fetterman “shoots too low” when it comes to wages and said he wants a fierce economic agenda that will boost wages for working and middle class Americans to historic levels — well beyond the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour and higher than the Democrats’ proposed $15 an hour.

Billionaire Elon Musk carried an actual sink into Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters during a surprise visit Wednesday ahead of his expected acquisition of the company.
Musk shared a video laughing while lugging the sink into the lobby – two days before his court-ordered deadline to close a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter or face a trial. Earlier in the day, the Tesla boss changed his Twitter bio to “Chief Twit.”
“Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!” Musk tweeted alongside the nine-second video.

Going to Lucianne.com this morning, as I do every morning, I was shocked and saddened to read that its proprietor, Lucianne Goldberg, has passed away:
Dear L Dotters.
We are heartbroken. Our beloved Lucianne passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones in her own home, the way she wanted. But she has left a whole in our lives that we can never fill completely.
Lucianne was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a patriot who expressed her love of this country with both political fierceness and penetrating wit.

President Trump announced four rallies to be held in the closing days of the 2022 campaign: Iowa on Thursday, Pennsylvania on Saturday, Florida on Sunday and an election eve rally in Ohio on Monday. It is possible more rallies will be added. Holes in the schedule suggest a Western swing on Friday to Nevada and/or Arizona might happen. Saturday, Sunday and Monday may see rallies in Wisconsin, Michigan and/or Georgia. (Note: Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday; rallies held after Saturday will be scheduled on standard time.)

More than 150 years after slaves were freed in the U.S., voters in five states will soon decide whether to close loopholes that led to the proliferation of a different form of slavery — forced labor by people convicted of certain crimes. None of the proposals would force immediate changes inside the states’ prisons, though they could lead to legal challenges related to how they use prison labor, a lasting imprint of slavery’s legacy on the entire United States.

Republican Kari Lake has taken a commanding double-digit lead in Arizona’s gubernatorial race, while GOP candidate Blake Masters is neck and neck with Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) in the U.S. Senate contest, according to a poll.
The Insider Advantage poll, sponsored by Fox 10 Phoenix, shows that 54 percent of likely voters are backing Lake, a former news anchor for the station, while 45 percent are supporting Hobbs. About two percent of respondents are undecided. The Republican is reportedly polling better among older demographics and with Latinos.

Los Angeles - Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) Chief Executive Bob Chapek, asked to address criticism the company had become "too woke," said on Wednesday that its programming will cater to the audience and reflect the "rich, diverse" world of viewers.
"The world is a rich, diverse place, and we want our content to reflect that," Chapek said at the Wall Street Journal Tech Live conference.
Disney's clash with Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis this spring over the state's Parental Rights in Education measure, which critics dubbed "the don't say gay" bill, made it a political lightning rod and resulted in the state revoking the company's special status

Joe Biden, or at least Real President™ Ron Klain, thought they had a cut a deal with the Saudis that would save the Democrats’ bacon in the midterms.
Now they are fuming that their conspiracy failed.
So says The New York Times in a bombshell story that were it about Donald Trump would lead to an impeachment. But because we are talking about a Democrat the story will only cause the Establishment™ to shake their heads in embarrassment over the incompetence of this particular White House. They tried to defraud the American people–all well and good–but failure is difficult to forgive.
