The new, heavily promoted mRNA booster shots from Pfizer and Moderna are not all they’re cracked up to be, according to two new preprint studies.
The boosters perform no better against Omicron than the fourth jab with the original formulation,” a new study from scientists at Columbia University in New York City found. The updated Covid-19 booster shots have been advertised as “bivalent,” meaning they target the original coronavirus strain as well as the Omicron BA.4/BA.5 subvariants.
However, the Columbia paper found that the newer Omicron variants easily evade both types of boosters, Alex Berenson reported on Substack.

Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan has temporarily blocked the Jan. 6 Committee’s subpoena seeking phone records belonging to Arizona Republican Party chairwoman Kelli Ward, while the high court considers her emergency appeal.
The Jan. 6 committee’s subpoena had asked Ward’s phone carrier, T-Mobile, to produce call and text message records from November 2020 to January 2021.
Kagan’s decision on Wednesday is granting an emergency application that Ward and her husband filed earlier in the day seeking to prevent their phone records from being turned over to the Jan. 6 committee, after a lower appeals court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit, voted 2-1 to deny her request.

Former President Donald Trump took to his own social media platform Tuesday to condemn Bob Woodward, alleging the veteran journalist has no right to publicize his early talks.
In his new audiobook published Tuesday titled “The Trump Tapes,” Woodward compiled eight-hour raw audios he taped from previous conversations with Trump, during the-then chief executive’s last year in charge.(snip)“As he fully understands, writer Bob Woodward never got my permission to release tapes of my various interviews with him,” (snip)
recordings were solely to serve Woodward’s printed publication in 2020 about his presidency. “Those tapes were allowed only for purposes of making sure that he got my quotes & statements

Augusta National, the United States Golf Association and the PGA of America are now included in the Justice Department’s growing antitrust investigation into the PGA Tour, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The initial investigation stemmed from the Tour’s feud with the controversial Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf, which has prompted lawsuits from each league against one another in a lengthy legal battle.
Initially, the DOJ was just looking at the Tour. However, according to The Wall Street Journal, it now includes Augusta National, the USGA and the PGA of America.
Augusta National hosts the Masters every year, and is independent from the rest of golf.

CBS SUNDAY MORNING: Veteran Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward has collected his recorded interviews with former President Donald Trump – eight hours' worth – into an audiobook release, "The Trump Tapes." He talks with CBS News' John Dickerson about Trump's view of the presidency as a trophy and his unsettling communications with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un; and about the question Woodward most regrets not asking. (snip) he is a threat to democracy, and he’s a threat to the presidency because he doesn’t understand the core obligations that come with that office."

The New York Supreme Court has ordered reinstatement for all employees fired over their nonvaccinated status and ordered back pay for those who were unlawfully terminated from employment [Full pdf Ruling Here].
The state supreme court found that being vaccinated does not stop the spread of COVID-19, saying the vaccine mandate and firing of the non-compliant employees was “arbitrary and capricious.” This is a strong rebuke to the totalitarian fiats created by state leaders including the state governor, mayor of New York City and health commissioner.

A New York Supreme Court judge on Monday struck down New York City’s vaccine mandate for all city workers, finding the rule to be unconstitutional, arbitrary, and capricious.
Attorney Chad LaVeglia, who announced the verdict outside the Richmond County courthouse, said the mandate was now “null and void.”
“So, we just defeated the vaccine mandate for every single city employee—not just sanitation,” (snip)
The ruling strikes down the mandate that saw over 2,000 city workers fired for not getting a COVID-19 vaccine. LaVeglia said the ruling extends to all public workers, including the New York fire department, the police department, and the Department of Corrections

Endonuclease fingerprint indicates a synthetic origin of SARS-CoV-2
bioRxiv preprint October 18, 2022 doi: https://doi.org/10.1101/2022.10.18.512756; this version posted October 20, 2022
Lay Summary: To construct synthetic variants of natural coronaviruses in the lab, researchers often use a method called in vitro genome assembly. This method utilizes special enzymes called restriction enzymes to generate DNA building blocks that then can be “stitched” together in the correct order of the viral genome. (snip)
We found that SARS-CoV has the restriction site fingerprint that is typical for synthetic viruses. The synthetic fingerprint of SARS-CoV-2 is anomalous in wild coronaviruses, and common in lab-assembled viruses.

Former President Donald Trump fired off a foreboding Truth on Sunday night, reacting to a Washington Examiner exclusive that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is recording a robocall for a Republican candidate whom Trump has rejected.
That candidate is Joe O’Dea, the underdog Senate contender in Colorado who is trailing Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) in public opinion polls and last week made waves when he vowed to "actively campaign against" Trump and spoke favorably of other party heavyweights, including DeSantis.
Sharing the article written by Washington Examiner senior political correspondent David Drucker on his Truth Social platform, Trump added a brief message. "A BIG MISTAKE!" Trump said in all capital letters.
Comments:
Outrageous. And fully backed - if not outright instigated - by Pelosi.
