On April 15, 2020—a full month after President Trump’s fateful news conference that greenlighted lockdowns to be enacted by the states for “15 Days to Flatten the Curve”—the President had a revealing White House conversation with Anthony Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “I’m not going to preside over the funeral of the greatest country in the world,” Trump wisely said, as reported in Jared Kushner’s book Breaking History.

Comments:

An excellent summary looking back over the "pandemic", a review of actions and behaviors and impacts.

In reality, it was 15 days to flatten the economy. The curve never existed.

I loved Trump as President. He did A LOT of great things. His staffing and personnel decisions hobbled him from DAY ONE. Fauci and Birx, will have to go down as his worst F-up of them all. Jared bringing up a very solid 3rd. If he doesn't jettison Jared and Ivanka, if he somehow overcomes the cheating, his second term would be just as big of a missed opportunity.

Fauci has his MD but for the past 30+ years, his job as Director of the NIAID is approving tax payer grant monies to researchers. He hasn't been in the lab all these decades playing with his bat viruses and test tubes. No, he has instead, (thank you Dick Cheney and George W Bush and your support of the DoD bio research) been making sure that funding never waned for all this bio research being conducted all over the world.

Locking down the U.S. economy was the stupidest decision ever made in history! I will never forgive the "vaccine" mandates, and the tyranny. I will never consider Australia, Canada, EU, UK, New Zealand "allies". All, in their weakness and incompetence, chose tyranny over freedom, and the world has gone to pot because of it. I hope they are punished, but it seems we are bearing all the burdens of their incompetence.

We now witness all the evil and ineptness of it now. Opportunist took advantage of something that showed everyone involved were 'winging it' clueless ignorance and evil opportunist took hold of us. Never again! We conformed with mask mandates, social distancing along with quarantine but did not get vaccinated. We were never infected with Covid. Being both retired not having to work in public I will admit minimal movement and quarantine must have helped. This is a disaster in my lifetime that will affect us forever along with everyone else, but much could have been avoided. Great article to read.

15 days made sense...pause and see what this is...Trump resisted doubling to 30days, but, grudgingly agreed. Even on the 1st emergency support Bill he siad "OK, but..." wanting the unemployment benifit to go to/through actuall employers that already had the paperwork and staff in place to continue doling out checks, maintaining health coverage, benefits, to those who were actually 'still' employed' even if they were temporarily not on site. Dems demanded that it go through govt instead...and employers be granted a separate group of support grants, also via Govt....while at the same time mandating work from home/distancing etc on the govt workers who were supposed to administrate the entire 300million person NEW case load. Thus state bureaucracies were put in charge, local Governors and even mayors dictating draconian limitations with the costs thrown upon the Federal fisc. Trump constantly harped about reopening ASAP, limiting Govt controls and measures, particularly where it effected small businesses and schools...even MORE particularly after HE caught Covid, bounced back fast and returned to work immediately. He tried from the gitGo to limit the panic inducement and panic responses.....but the Dem/Media pandemic panic porn cycle was by then steamrolling all sanity.

The wife of Democratic Pennsylvania Senate candidate John Fetterman claimed “swimming in America is very racist” — as she likened her husband’s use of closed captioning to turning up the brightness on a smartphone. “Historically, swimming in America is very racist, and usually when you look at drowning statistics, it usually affects children of color, because of lack of access,” Gisele Fetterman said on the iGen politics podcast on Thursday. Gisele made the comments while discussing how she and her husband, Pennsylvania’s lieutenant governor, had decided not to move into the state-owned mansion in Harrisburg but made the pool accessible

A climate protester glued his shaved head to the world-famous “Girl with a Pearl Earring” painting at a museum in The Hague on Thursday, the latest in a series of stunts targeting iconic artworks. A second activist glued his hand to the wall next to the painting and poured a can of tomato soup over his accomplice’s head, before going on a rant about climate change while being jeered by stunned onlookers. Dutch master Johannes Vermeer’s 1665 canvas is protected by glass at the Mauritshuis museum and was not damaged, gallery staff said. “The police were notified and three people have been arrested.

At newspapers, obituaries are typically written in advance. The Washington Post had plenty to work with when the death of Lucianne Goldberg happened, but instead of remembering good, or at least balancing their summary, they selectively chose to remember the great muse of the right, Internet pioneer, and accomplished woman from a time when women weren't allowed much accomplishment, by printing only cherry-picked tales of dubious sourcing that made her look phony. It was garbage. It stood in stark contrast to the insightful and warm-hearted tweets that overwhelmingly were the consensus on Twitter, from wildly different parts of the Internet spectrum.

There’s no place in America. There’s too much violence, political violence, too much hatred, too much vitriol,” Biden said at the start of remarks to Pennsylvania Democrats.“And what makes us think that one party can talk about stolen elections, COVID being a hoax, that it’s all a bunch of lies, and it not affect people who may not be so well balanced,” Biden continued. “What makes us think that it’s not going to
