Los Angeles - Walt Disney Co (DIS.N) Chief Executive Bob Chapek, asked to address criticism the company had become "too woke," said on Wednesday that its programming will cater to the audience and reflect the "rich, diverse" world of viewers.
"The world is a rich, diverse place, and we want our content to reflect that," Chapek said at the Wall Street Journal Tech Live conference.
Disney's clash with Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis this spring over the state's Parental Rights in Education measure, which critics dubbed "the don't say gay" bill, made it a political lightning rod and resulted in the state revoking the company's special status

FTA: "'We were reminded, through the passion of our cast reaction, how important their sentiments are on these issues in terms of making them feel that they were part of The Walt Disney Company,' ... Asked what lesson he had learned from the imbroglio, Chapek said it reinforced his understanding of Disney's cast being at the heart of everything the company does. 'My own personal feelings aren't really important,' Chapek said. 'What's important is how people think about our company.'"
Chapek has it backasswards as to which people's thinking he should be considering is important to the Disney Company. Generally most CEO's consider it to be their customer's, not their employees. Despite the fancy title of "cast members", they are still just amusement park staff that generally have a high turn-over. There are not many ride-loaders, store clerks, or even character-actors that put in 5-10-15-20 years working at Disneyland or Disney World. These people do not have a long-term interest in the welfare of the Disney Company.
So, go ahead, Chapek, kill the House of Mouse that was once a great American icon and made millions for almost a century. You have turned into a Rat's Nest. Call Terminex.

From what I see, Disney was taken over by the perverts and butt-humpers a good many years ago.
Many of the companies attractions and videos have been turned into tools for 'grooming' small children.
Parents of small children, if you let your children watch Disney products unsupervised, you do so at your own, and your children's, peril.
As for me, Never again will I visit a Disney park, Never again will I watch a new Disney movie.
As far as I am concerned, Disney is DEAD.
Period.

Really dumb argument,”the world is a rich, diverse place” and so they will cater to that.
NEWS FLASH: The Disney audience catered to families, children of all ages, and people for whom sex was not relevant to the Disney experience. What Disney has done is to take the fringes of American life and wrap the Disney name around it, instead of taking the majority of decent, hardworking, normal families and catering to THEM. Disney is essentially creating a new audience of perverse, deviants and radical Leftists and claiming they are “the world.” You don’t win by polluting your base with radicalism. You win by appealing to people as they are, without regard to their sexual practices or racial makeup; You don’t say to them “If you can’t embrace drag queens and sexual deviants, you can’t play in our sandbox.” — Maroons.

I always thought that kids, families, and wholesome fun was Disney's target audience and goal. Instead, Chapek is catering to activist employees with an LGBTQ Woke agenda seeking social justice and equity. Disney movies have become nauseatingly Woke and preachy.

They can cater to the rich and diverse crowd. The families with discernment have left already.

"The world is a rich, diverse place, and we want our content to reflect that,". What a moron. Soon Disney will be a poor and diverse place due to their commie, perverted content. Where are the shareholders? It is there money this obese clown is pissing away.

I'm sure the idiots that run Disney think they have been catering to their audience over the last twenty years. Perhaps they are starting to notice profits aren't as robust as they once were years ago and are starting to realize that wokeness causes brokeness.

They are creating content to cater to a fringe group of degenerates, not the core audience that has supported Disney for generations. You reap what you sow-until this changes I’m done with Disney.

Disney has passed content creation to advocacy and activism. That has been rejected by its customers.

If people want to practice aberrant sexual acts I see no reason to have a parade to celebrate it. Does Disney have parades for any other cause?

I just returned from my first trip to Disney World. It was horrible. Epcot was the only park worth visiting. The parks were so crowded, many of the rides looked so tired and worn out. The lines were unreal. The parks were dirty. Yes that is correct. Trash and food on the ground. And they make you PAY to go on the top rides. Unless you can snag a virtual line slot, which is still a wait of an hour and are gone is 7 seconds, yes that is correct. 7 seconds after they release the option. Your other choice with their "Genie" system to snag a paid slot for the top rides, which change price by the minute, ranging from 14 bucks to 22 dollars. We paid extra for the Genie/formerly known as max pass and on two days we got on 2 rides with it. That was 30. bucks extra on top of the very expensive tickets to get in, for two people to get in a fast lane on two rides. It felt like pure greed. I was totally disillusioned. As a kid who was raised going to Disneyland, I can say DL is better. But the way Disney is going, I no longer want to support anything they are doing.

You have to wonder at what point of the destruction of the Disney company will the stockholders finally come out in masse with torches, pitchforks, tar, and feathers, and send the current "woke" officers and managers of Disney out of town on a rail!!!!!!!
50 years ago, I would have put money on Disney being one of the stalwarts of saving popular culture from the insanity that it in infected with now. Instead, they have become the leaders in taking our culture down the evil lie-beral sewer!!!!!
