Vice President Kamala Harris has reportedly hired her third chief speechwriter since she entered office last year. Dave Cavell, who has previously served as speechwriter for White House climate envoy John Kerry and in the Obama White House, has been hired in the role, per Politico. Harris's office has seen multiple shake-ups in the past year, with two head speechwriters leaving and several other aides departing. The high level of turnover in the vice president's office, specifically in her communications team, has come as she has made several awkward gaffes, including saying the United States had an alliance with the "Republic of North Korea" and insisting hurricane aid be given based on "equity."

President Biden clearly knows his disastrous border policies will hurt Democrats in the midterms, so he’s suddenly gestured at doing something — and even that’s backfiring. Last week, his folks announced a deal to halt the flood of Venezuelan migrants at the border by expelling them to Mexico. They also offered a path for 24,000 Venezuelans to enter legally, after finding a US sponsor. I don’t understand why Republican candidates for office are not challenging their opponents on whether or not they support President Biden’s harming national security by draining of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve for temporary price declines at the gasoline pump as the nation votes. Biden’s policies brought about high oil prices, starting with his cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline and limits on oil leasing on Day One of his term. Now, as international tensions soar, and formerly reliable oil suppliers like Saudi Arabia mull retaliation for slights from Biden, our ability to withstand a cutoff of diminishment of oil supplies is imperiled by Biden’s move to shore up his political support.

Just days before midterms, it's starting to turn toxic out there for Democrats. After a certain amount of blather about the red wave vanishing, it's back, with a vengeance, polls say, and Democrats look powerless to stop it. Start with the obvious here: President Trump is the most popular politician in the country. According to Fox News, citing a New York Times poll: More voters say they would vote for former President Trump than President Biden if the election were held today, according to a new poll from The New York Times and Siena College.

An article in The Atlantic essentially confirmed NBC journalist Dasha Burns’ widely disputed claim that Pennsylvania Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman appears to have problems making conversation without the use of closed captioning, noting he had difficulty responding "meaningfully" to voter questions. In a Sunday piece headlined, "Do Voters Care About John Fetterman’s Stroke?," Atlantic staff writer Elaine Godfrey noted that Fetterman "still struggles to process the words that he hears, and sometimes he can’t quite express what he means" five months after he suffered a stroke. She also noted that his wife Gisele, who a Rolling Stone writer called

I’m worried. “Is ‘rainbow fentanyl’ a threat to your kids this Halloween? Experts say no,” NPR assures me. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned in these past few years it’s to believe the opposite of what experts say. The media has given up trying to get people to trust it and now asks it to trust its handpicked experts. And those experts say the same exact things that the media says. Every subject is now tackled by experts. Do you think that a Senate candidate who can barely grasp a sentence is worrisome? “Fetterman’s use of captions is common in stroke recovery, experts say,” the Washington Post wheedles. Experts tend to say that Democrats

Utah Senate incumbent Republican Mike Lee took on independent challenger Evan McMullin on Monday night. Some in the local media were touting the event as McMullin’s last chance to make an impression on voters and were calling the debate for Lee two hours before the event. Lee was forecasted to have an information advantage, but there was some speculation that, since he tends to be loquacious, this would act in McMullin’s favor if he was able to utilize sound-bite answers that could have audience appeal. The pair took the stage at 6:00 PM Mountain time. The questions were submitted by viewers before and during the event. As predicted, McMullin

Maybe it’s just us but we swear we’ve seen Joe Biden give this speech about how all of the good things he’s supposedly done for the country will be GONE if Republicans take over the House and Senate in a couple of weeks. And he says all of this like it’s a bad thing. Gosh, we’ll really miss all of that inflation, recession, and those empty grocery store shelves most of all. Totally. Someone has coached him on this speech … and it’s still a dumpster fire.

Ohio Senate candidate JD Vance delivered a crushing blow to establishment hack Tim Ryan, a career politician with no legacy other than rubber stamping anti-American legislation from Barack Obama and Joe Biden, in their final debate before the midterm elections. Speaking about the media and Ryan’s overt calls for violence against members of the MAGA movement, Vance put what many are seeing as a nail in the coffin of Ryan’s cushy, work-free lifestyle.

CNN’s CEO Chris Licht has reportedly been trying to remake the network back into the news organization it used to be rather than the Democratic partisan organization that it became under Jeff Zucker. In the process, he’s been giving the boot to a lot of the biased old guard, including Jeff Zucker, Brian Stelter, and John Harwood. Don Lemon has also been demoted to the morning. The latest scoop on who might next get the boot was that it is going to be Jim Acosta, although the network has not confirmed that yet. But given what Jake Tapper just did, maybe he should get moved up on the list if

President Joe Biden has made waves this fall with his plan to forgive hundreds of billions of dollars of student loans, shifting the burden to taxpayers. Five years earlier, his family cashed in on a zero-interest, forgivable loan of its own from an energy company in communist China, according to evidence in the possession of the FBI. The loan arrangement, confirmed in documents obtained by Just the News and also new information released by Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), shows the Chinese energy firm CEFC Beijing International Energy Company Limited understood the transaction would benefit Joe Biden's family (referred to as "BD family" in the emails), but it also was creating heartburn

Just how far will the leftist media go to protect President Joe Biden? If the past couple of weeks are any indication, there is no limit. Take the incident in late September where Biden repeatedly called out for a dead congresswoman to come forward. [snip] Most cognizant Americans saw this for what it was: Another worrisome sign that Biden’s mental acuity is rapidly declining. For the press, however, it was an opportunity to praise the 79-year-old. Dictator Xi Jinping opened the 20th Chinese Communist Party National Congress on Sunday with a “report” to the Central Committee, which he nominally serves, that claimed China has ascended to global leadership in economics, diplomacy, clean government, and military power. Xi’s address was triumphant as expected, with little concern for how it might sound to a world still coping with fallout from the coronavirus pandemic China unleashed. The pandemic was old news for Xi, who had no interest in conceding the smallest error in how China handled the crisis.Instead, Xi’s theme was China’s overwhelming success at creating a “modern socialist country”

I’ll bet they are. The problem for Democrats, however, won’t just revolve around their deeply unpopular Demagogue in Chief and the albatross he’s hung around their necks. After the smoke from the midterm referendum on Joe Biden clears, the party will have the same problem they had in 2020, 2016, and every midterm in the past dozen years except 2018. Keep that in mind when reading The Hill’s report on “contingency plans” already being considered even before the election results come in: Democrats behind the scenes are already talking about and making contingency plans for 2024 in case President Biden decides not to seek a second term, moves expected to intensify

At one point one of the moderators predictably asked Ryan his thoughts about the “Great Replacement Theory,”
