President Biden is expected to pledge during a Tuesday night speech that his top legislative priority after the midterms will be codifying a national right to abortion, should the Democratic Party retain control of the House and expand its Senate footprint.
During his remarks at the Howard Theater in Washington, D.C. Tuesday night, Biden is expected to pledge that the first bill he will send to legislators in a new Democratic Congress will codify Roe v. Wade, the New York Times first reported. The move is intended to galvanize his support among Democratic and independent women as his polling numbers slump ahead of November’s midterm elections.

Abortion is a hot issue for 5% of the electorate, and that includes for and against, so figure 2.5% of democrats find it a pivotal issue. Go for it, dunce head Joe! Isn't old Joe a Catholic though? Where is the spine of the Church? He should be excommunicated. I am not a Catholic, far from it, but it seems to me that the enthusiastic support of abortion is unseemly, to say the least, if not downright evil.

Dobbs made it perfectly clear that the Federal Government has absolutely zero say in the abortion issue - it is exclusively the purview of the individual states. What is so hard about that for these pinheads in both parties to be understand?

Didn't the SCOTUS decide that abortion is a state matter? (Think 10th Amendment)
No matter what any potus may do, abortion will always a states issue.

While a suspect they think this might energize their "base", it may also energize the Right to Life side too.
Now, isn't California trying to enact abortion up-to birth with Proposition 1 on the Nov ballot?
This is much more extreme that Roe, or are the Democrats going to make abortion the most extreme in the world even if they only have a 50/50 Senate and 1 House seat majority?

" ... If Democrats Sweep Midterms" - diapers knows the demcommies are done for in this Midterm election or, then again, maybe he doesn't - well, who cares, anyway, the fact is ... they are done for and with another sweep in 2024 the demcommies might be headed toward extinction - Thank God.

If the dems were serious nothing stops them from doing this now instead of dangling it, "oh if you want abortion you can only have it if we win the next election! I know we've had all summer to do something about it but we need to wield this club to improve our odds because we already wrecked everything else!"

Wow. Talk about someone out of touch. We have:
1. A wide open southern border.
2. Inflation at 8.2%.
3. High oil prices that will have an inflationary effect on everything.
4. The SPR has been drawn down to half.
5. Thugs committing crimes and being released on their own recognizance.
6. Spending and more spending (and yes, it IS inflationary).
Shall I go on?

How utterly depraved can a nation be when a President offers to buy votes with the sacrifice of babies?
If the wheels REALLY come off and we head for catastrophic economic hardship... at least I can suffer while knowing we basically are getting what we deserve.

Reply 13 nails it…dangle this promise instead of simply passing it now. What a comic strip. Thirty years ago Joey (the walking diaper pail) was a bit more American. What happened since? Treasonous and contrary, Joey has become an uncompromising tool of the godless communists. Shame Joey, shame. You will regret your ultimate judgment, you POS.

Talk about a “one trick pony”. In the season of political ads, all we see in FL from Democrats is abortion, abortion, abortion, This is true up and down the ticket, from Rubio’s race to state rep and senators. We have a state senate race in Tampa where the crooked Democrat is outspending what the sleazy Charlie Crist is spending on the governor’s race, makes no sense at all. She must have spent 10-50x what the state senator salary is - which makes it stink like a rotten fish, Satan must be so proud of his Democrat spawn,

The US Constitution allows the Federal Government (all branches) strictly enumerated powers. What clause in the Constitution are they going to use to meddle with this. - the Commerce Clause? The Umbra Penumbra smoke and mirrors from Griswold? Nonexistent privacy rights? As poster above stated Dobbs decision made it quite clear. IMO, even the States with residual powers are going to have to tread carefully. They could run afoul of the Fourteenth - equal protection under the law!

You can infer anything from a false premise. And you can predict anything from an impossible condition. I was taught that as the "garbage in garbage out" principle; but I bet there's a more formal name for it.
