According to a recent report in ClickOrlando, two robbers were shot and killed when they tried to rob a jewelry store in the Magin Mall in Orlando, Florida.
The attempted robbery, which happened at around 11:45 in the morning, was conducted by four attempted robbers, so the police are still searching for the remaining two.
Of the two suspects who were shot, one was killed at the scene of the attempted robbery and so police had to do no searching for him.
The other one who was shot got in the car with the two other surviving suspects and drove off but, according to ClickOrlando, he was found in the abandoned vehicle

Kind of a notorious spot and I think the police are probably there often. A lot of drug activity. That there was a jewelry store in there is pretty surprising. Really brave and well-armed and well trained would be a requirement.

Witness Jamari Lamb described the shooting: “Boom! Boom! Boom! And then me and my pops jumped down and then we walk around, and we just see the people had ran.”
These people have such a strong grasp of the English language. How about get an education and get a job, instead of trying to steal what belongs to others?

Darwin Award for the two for Jewelry Store Robbers of the Year. Aim small miss small. First one was dead before he hit the floor. Second one probably took the permanent nap within minutes.

Stupid Robbers. They need to move to NY or PA. Florida has issued 1.2 MILLION Conceal and Carry permits. The most in the Country! The chances of Robbers getting killed by a LEGAL Gun are pretty good here! That's not even counting the Households who have Registered Guns for Security! Odds are not good for Robbers in Florida!

Good news.
The owners of a gun shop that I used to do business with got into a shoot out with four inner city scum, and the wife was knocked unconscious as the opening move. The husband killed one, wounded one slightly and put another in a wheelchair for life, but unfortunately was killed by the robbers.
Store owners need to think tactically. The gun shop had a open doorway behind the counter into the back room. If the owner had put a steel plate up on the back side of the wall, edging up to the door, he could have stepped a few steps backwards and then had true hard cover to fire from. I really was saddened to hear of the loss, the wife tried to keep the store running for a few more years, but it eventually closed. Their dreams shattered by thugs.
Glad that this one worked out well. High risk stores should have hard cover and multiple guns handy.
Maybe even wear a soft bullet resistant vest.

#12 is right on target, so to speak. One slight correction: The number of Florida concealed firearm licenses passed two million at least five years ago. I would guess that that number is pushing toward three million by now. If one is not a "prohibited carrier," obtaining a permit in Florida should not be too difficult. That's as it should be. To keep and bear arms is a God given right.
Armed robbers have become more brazen, more hardened, in recent years. A large number of these violent criminals, never taught any moral or civic values at any time during their lives and lacking any education or work skills, exist to prey on others. They don't care whom they hurt. When enough of these reckless hooligans see their partners in crime shot down to a two dimensional state with no breath or heartbeat, and the meat wagon is hauling the unlucky ones to the medical examiner, maybe the survivors will reconsider the path their life has taken. If not, they're warm, live targets who need to be very well shot and retired permanently from the crime business. This jeweler survived, and two of the robbers didn't. The dead will rob no more. You can be certain of that.

".. this was a robbery. And the owner had a firearm, so he defended it.” That says it all. A gun saved lives and the rule of law!

In the 1980's a jewelry store in Atlanta had large artwork drawings all around the store depicting an attempted robbery in that store a year earlier which resulted in dead robbers. Some of the pictures were of the robbers in their final moments slumped on the floor. The pictures were quite shocking.
I noticed that every employee in the store was open carrying. Even the ladies.
The message was strong to any potential robber not to mess around in there.

Years ago, I worked in downtown D.C. A thug went into a jewelry store down the street from my office and tried to rob it. A clerk drew out a gun and shot him. He staggered around the corner from the store and bled out on the street. You could see the blood stains on the sidewalk for several weeks. Another thug went into a convenience store owned by an Asian couple nearby and tried to rob it. One of them pulled out a gun and shot the thug, wounding him. The local TV station went to interview the owners, and the wife grabbed the microphone and said "I hope he die!" several times. I love happy endings.
