Here at “O’Connor Tonight,” we pride ourselves on interviewing the newsmakers and Americans driving the conversations in this country. And there’s nobody on earth driving the conversation more than America’s 45th president: Donald J. Trump.
I had the chance to talk with President Trump on the show tonight, and we covered everything from the Democrats' failed policies destroying our cities to Kanye West and his recent comments on American Jews.
But perhaps the most pressing issue we discussed was the continued fallout from the FBI raid at Trump’s private residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, as ordered by FBI Director Christopher Wray.

Sorry, Mr. President - - no excuses.
It wasn't just Fey Wray - - there were bunches of appointees who turned out to be traitors. Are you reading this Fatface Barr?
If it were just one bad appointment - - but - - it was many of them. You were sloppy in whom you picked. You've got to do better - - much better - - next time.
ASIDE — FTA: “These were formally elected officials . . ." Formally elected? Were they wearing tuxedos on election night? There's just no professionalism left in the media. Who the heck edits these things?

No one, not Donald Trump, not Richard Nixon, not Abraham Lincoln, can successfully rouse a nation by complaining about injustices done to him. Being president cannot involve a personal agenda of polttcal grievance and revenge. Being president means setting an agenda for the nation and allowing your followers to deal with the partisan slings and arrows against you. A quarterback who gets off the ground ignoring the last hit, no matter how violent and unfair, wins the admiration of the team and the crowd. It is his worst fault, and the one that above all others will encourage the bullies to push his button again and again.

#2 is right on. I wish Trump would stay off the front pages until the election was over.

Chances are, since Trump was a big time outsider when he arrived in DC, that he did not personally know many of the supposed Republican politicians, super bureaucrats, and operatives who were and are still of the RINO classes there, who lobbied Trump with hiring recommendations for people those RINOS knew would favor their brand of wimpy RINO Republican politics rather than Trump’s unorthodox conservative Republican politics. Obviously that RINO lobbying resulted in a bunch of unsatisfactory Trump hires and then firings. In other words the RINOS fooled Trump once, but will they be able to do that again after the 2024 election, that is if Trump decides to ever run for President again?

I give Pres Trump a pass on some of those early hires. Government wasn't in his wheelhouse and he thought he could follow the advise of those "in the know." Obviously. those "in the know" were not in sync with the speed and direction of Trump.
But why Fey Wray wasn't fired between. Nov. 2020 and Jan. 2021 is beyond me.

I seem to recall that it was Chris Christie, who was angling for the Attorney General job, that recommended Christopher Wray to head the FBI

This article has brought the Never Trumper members of this website out in the sunlight for all to see. How many of you are precinct committee people? Assisting as poll watchers? Assisting with campaigns for the midterms? If you’re not helping, suggest you divert your misplaced anger away from your keyboards and help the rest of us win the midterms and then put President Trump back in the White House in 2024.

As I recall, the once trusted James Comey sent a couple of FBI agents to the White House, to interview Michael Flynn. Comey explained the proper protocol, and how General Flynn was treated:
“So if the FBI wanted to send agents into the White House itself to interview a senior official, you would work through the White House counsel and there would be discussions and approvals and it would be there. I thought, ‘It’s early enough, let’s just send a couple of guys over."
Certainly people familiar with that protocol still worked inside the White House and saw what was going on. But no one stepped up to question the ethics of what Comey figured he could "get away with." In the link below, Professor Johathan Turley tells us FBI Agents "...encouraged Flynn not to bring a lawyer or to inform the White House counsel. Instead, they arranged a meeting just hours after a telephone call with McCabe."
I hope folks will take time to read Turley's analysis. It shows that after President Trump won the White House, the attacks continued from inside government. Efforts to destroy Trump's ability to stay in office never let up, with endless false narratives about him, his family, his appointees, and his millions of supporters spread by a complicit press.
Misplaced trust in individuals and institutions can carry harsh consequences. No doubt President Trump understands this better than anyone. When I see his pearl clutching opponents on television, I wonder why they're so obsessed with preventing his return to the White House. Trump's two scoops of ice cream seems like a minor complaint compared to watching a vacant-eyed Joe Biden gumming his cone.

Once again, Mitch McConnell told Trump that any nominations that needed Senate confirmation, i.e., the important ones, would need his approval first. Even when Trump was threatening to fire Jeff Sessions, McConnell and Grassley warned Trump not to do or they wouldn't allow Senate confirmation of his nominee.

Quit playing coy, and name the RINO's. Why protect them? Trump made many appointment errors, because he was not a professional politician, and had to rely on the recommendations of others, since he did not know them. The Republican Party is full of Rino's, at least half, so get your recommendations from the House Freedom Caucus next term. And then there is this: Do not ever shut down the American economy again. Not ever!

For any public office, it is the responsibility of the person seeking and attaining the office, whether outsider or insider, to understand the associated subject matter of the office. The ability to delegate to competent authority is one of the most important attributes of an executive, especially our country's chief executive. No president gets it 100% right every time, so no president should be immune to criticism.
On a related note, rolling out the "Never Trumper" epithet is intended to shut down critical debate on the merits or lack thereof of FPDJT's actions and/or inaction, both in office and seeking office. In 2016, there truly were a lot of people who were knee-jerk biased against Trump and were determined that he'd never sit in the Oval Office; however, after Trump was in office for four years and achieved a lot of policy success, some likely blunted by a few of his own poor choices, it is no longer valid to call someone who dares to criticize the actions of a mortal human, one who has already served a full term as president, a Never Trumper. It's use in 2022 on this site, has become a code-word for thoughts outside of the Trump collective and the accusers become the hive-masters, somewhat like the democrat party. No one tossing out that epithet has legally voted for Trump more than twice, which in my case and that of many others, equals the votes of some of those labeled Never Trumpers. If Trump is the nominee in '24, and the Good Lord sees fit to keep me around, I'll vote for him a third time. I'm ashamed of my vote in the 1976 election; since then, my only "never" vote is reserved for democrats.

YES....the one thing that President Trump did NOT do upon his entering into office was to fire ALL of the prior administration's hires! President Reagan will always have that one up on Trump! Frankly, I enjoy Trump reminding we, the American people, about everything that has, is and continues to happen to him. Remember, that the marxist government is not really after Trump, but we, the American people!
