Former Gov. Chris Christie created a firestorm on ABC News’ “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” on Sunday, with what he had to say about the Jan. 6 Committee. Christie pointed out that, to many Republicans, the Committee doesn’t have any credibility. That’s because they don’t have any real Republicans on the Committee to make any points against the Democratic narrative. The January 6 committee was “resigned to having a credibility problem because of the membership of the committee and the way that was done,” Christie opened by saying. “There are lots of Republicans across this country who just say, there’s nobody there to argue the other side. “Saturday Night Live” opened with its latest episode Saturday night with a sketch that took aim at Donald Trump and the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot. “One person is responsible for this insurrection, Donald Trump, and one person will suffer the consequences: me,” said Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, played by Heidi Garner, after holding hands with her “best friend” Rep. Bennie Thompson (Kenan Thompson). Thompson let his panel-mates know that after presenting evidence they would all get the chance to enjoy “a little treat,” and showed off a tin of cupcakes,

Arizona Republican Kari Lake’s political aptitude is striking fear in the hearts of Democrat operatives who worry she is a “major MAGA star” in the making, Axios reported. Lake, a former Fox 10 Phoenix anchor who is endorsed by former President Donald J. Trump, cruised to a primary victory over Summer and has risen to national prominence with election day just 23 days away. Her unique ability to communicate and her frequent masterful handling of adversarial media has Democrat strategists shaking, according to Axios’s Jonathan Swan and Alexi McCammond, as she continues to gain momentum over her flailing Democrat opponent, Secretary of State Katie Hobbs.

Paul Ryan, the losing vice presidential candidate on the Republican Party’s all-RINO 2012 ticket, says that Donald Trump, the only Republican candidate to win the presidency between 2004 and 2020, cannot win in 2024. Ryan, of course, really hopes that Trump will not regain the presidency, for that would mean the definitive end of the controlled-opposition establishment wing of the Republican Party, in which Ryan was once a central figure. But Ryan on Thursday went beyond expressing the hope that Trump would lose to stating confidently that he would. According to the New York Post, the failed candidate, who also served as a singularly colorless and ineffective speaker of the House

President Joe Biden stayed overnight in downtown Portland and tried to give a morale boost to Oregon Democrats anxious about losing their 36-year hold on the governor’s office. The president’s visit was part of a West Coast tour designed to shore up what traditionally has been a reliable bloc of blue states. The president today delivered remarks at the East Portland Community Center on lowering the costs of prescription medication—a win he shared with U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.). He also made a now-traditional stop for ice cream—at a Baskin-Robbins in Gresham.

I cordially loathed my family growing up. It was enormous and seemed to go on forever. Plus it was dull as ditchwater. They were so good. So activist good. So exhortative good. Do good! They cried. Care of and for the self is a trap. Live for others! They had been good for generations, for centuries. In fact, they had been good for four hundred years in the New World by the time I arrived in their midst. I know this because I have their various diaries and letters, and some of them had been educated with enough time to be able to write,

The polls seem to be showing a lot of good things for Republicans right now. One example of this trend is the new Harvard-Harris poll, which has some fascinating things in it that show why Democrats are going to be in big trouble in the November elections. But even more than the midterms, I think it bodes well for the country; because there are signs that the radical nature of the Democrats is driving more people to the center or the right in this poll, as well. Most respondents — 57 percent — say their financial situation is worsening. Also, 84 percent disagree with Joe Biden and think

With the midterms less than a month away, left-leaning news outlets and political commentators are resorting to dark predictions about the future of the country with warnings of imminent civil war if Republicans retake control of Congress in November. Talk of a second civil war among liberal journalists, television personalities and lawmakers has become increasingly commonplace following the raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home on Aug. 8, after which liberal pundits repeatedly claimed on-air that evolving distrust for the U.S. government among Trump supporters would lead to escalated political violence. The topic resurfaced weeks later when President Biden called his predecessor and "MAGA Republicans" a threat to "the very foundations of our republic"
