The gag at Martha’s Vineyard having run its course, Republicans now are hinting they may send busloads or planeloads of migrants to the next available conservative punchline city. That would be us, Seattle. The Republican Governors Association is out with a fundraising pitch centered around a red-meat survey question for its base: “Where should GOP governors send Biden’s Buses of Illegal Immigrants?” (snip) OK, since you asked. I vote “Seattle.” Yes, that’s right, do Seattle next, please. Better yet, do the whole state of Washington. Send us some refugees. We want you to

Gov. Inslee won't care one bit. He lives in a mansion and he'll just raise our property taxes again to pay for the illegals accommodations. I pay over $6,000 a year on property taxes for a VERY old small home. He's also raising gas taxes AGAIN to have money for his "Climate saving" agenda. If I could afford to move I would. Seeing that I'm old as dirt and my time on this planet and the crap hole known as Washington state is getting short, I welcome the big sleep. It'll be hard for Inslee to get taxes from a dead man. ;-)

Re: #4 - Our governor, whom I suspect you do not like, acted first, while DeSantis was only talking about it. Not that I like Abbott more than DeSantis but those pesky facts should not be ignored. Until Lightfoot and Adams became daily leftist media darlings, Abbott has taken more flack from those within his own party than he has from the Left, most of it coming after Texas voters chose Abbott over West and when a lot of folks believed that state governors had statutory control over the international border along their southern state lines.

they should have done it or thought about doing it, a long time ago but, there's still time to correct an inaction but, in actuality, none of the illegals probably don't want to go to Seattle, reason?: it's not safe there and ... too many communists and most of these people have come from communist controlled countries

I am not sure what got the ire up, #6, I do not know any conservative MAGA Texas friends who aren’t voting Abbott as primary is over. None of us failed to give our Governor credit and applause for the buses to NYC. I see nothing wrong with agreeing with most conservatives that in the realm of consistent, daily, bold leadership qualities, Florida’s Governor has no peer. He is not called America’s Governor for nothing.

Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich has written a scathing letter to the Washington Department of Transportation about the agency's failure to clear a homeless camp from being established on its local property. “Consider this letter notice to WSDOT that I plan to clear this camp by mid-October,” he wrote. “WSDOT's dereliction of their duties to address this matter must not continue.” (snip) The sheriff concludes his letter by inviting state officials to demonstrate their compassion for Camp Hope residents by opening their own homes to guests, which he said is consistent with the agency’s suggestion to East Side neighborhoods.

In a huge blow to prosecutors, a Multnomah County judge swiftly ended the trial of Patriot Prayer leader Joey Gibson and one of his compatriots Tuesday, ruling the state failed to provide sufficient evidence that either man had committed the crime of riot during a brawl outside a Portland bar in 2019. Circuit Judge Benjamin Souede acquitted Gibson, 38, and Russell Schultz, 52, after the state rested its case, finding that no reasonable juror could convict the two based on the evidence presented. “I am somewhat bewildered that the state has driven the case to this point,” Souede said.

The Washington state Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that a person’s race, and law enforcement’s long history of discrimination against people of color, should be taken into account when determining the legality of police seizures. The court also clarified state law to say police have seized a person if an objective observer would conclude that the person was not free to leave or refuse a request. But, the court wrote, that “objective observer” must be aware that discrimination and biases “have resulted in disproportionate police contacts, investigative seizures, and uses of force against Black, Indigenous, and other people of color.”

You could see this one coming a mile away, and many of us did. When the Supreme Court declared that there is no rational reason to deny the right of two people of the same sex to marry–love is love!–it eliminated the teleological foundation of marriage and the family. If marriage is no longer grounded in the biology of reproduction–it takes two, a man and a woman, to make a child–then the number two is likewise irrational. If George and Ken can be in love, and therefore entitled to marry, then why can’t George, Ken and Susan? The inevitable has happened, as a court in New York
