Google Maps contract employees who are required to return to their office in Washington state recently circulated a petition to keep working from home since some cannot afford their commutes, presenting another challenge to Google’s plan to refill offices and restore campus life. The issue affects more than 200 workers who are employed by outsourcing firm Cognizant Technology Solutions, which mandated that they work in an office in Bothell five days a week starting June 6. The workers play an essential role updating routes and destinations on Google Maps, a service used by more than 1 billion people a month.

Standard google contractor abuse. Without these people and tens of thousands more just like them, google wouldn't be what it is today. But google doesn't care if they all quit or the person with 4 lung operations dies of Covid or anything else. Typical leftists. They ditched their "do no evil" motto a loooong tine ago.

Remember Google's 2007 pledge to be carbon neutral by 2030? In 2020 Google used over 12 trillion Watts of energy which amounts to usage which would rank it among the world's top 90 countries. About 10 miles south of where I sit Google is building a new server farm. What is next to it? A 17 GW natural gas fired electrical generation plant.

Why don't you use Google Maps to find the shortest, most economical route to work? You chose to live far away from you office. You had no problem driving to the office before Covid, what is the problem now? Don't like gas prices, don't like inflation, don't like paying for child care? We all have to make choices. One bad choice YOU made was in 2020 when you voted for Joe Biden and other Democrats. You are now seeing the results of your vote. Live with it.

Donald J. Trump was the best POTUS in my very long lifetime. His policies were effective, making America prosperous, energy independent, and lowering minority unemployment to record low levels. Everything he did, with the possible exception of the COVID lockdown, was quintessentially Trump; competent, encouraging, and salutary for America and her people. We were blessed to have him in the White House. Although many Americans cringed, we nonetheless put up with Trump’s coarseness and his inflated ego because he gave America back to the people.
