Medical Students Denounce the Scientific

Medical school was once aimed at applying scientific knowledge to treat the sick and injured. But these days, we’re told society itself is sick, and it must be healed by the elixir of enlightenment. Therefore, devoted future doctors in Minnesota are pledging to wokeness and a complete righting of the world’s wrongs. (snip) What arguably stands out most is the group’s denouncement of science. Western medicine only has value if it’s the correct approach to physical health.

Comments:

This is the most depressing article I've read in a long while. Doctors lost a big chunk of trust because of their complicity with gov't and big pharma during the covid lockdowns and mandates. Now they're throwing the scientific method under the bus.

When two parties fight and one side wins the land they aquire is not "stolen," as these doctors think, it has been conquered. I highly doubt the Indians involved had deeds anyway. We're descending into a 3rd world, witch doctor style medicine system. It should be a lot cheaper than it is.

If there is medicine that works but scientific studies can not find out how or why, but the studies verify that it does work, it's scientifically verified. This goes for acupuncture or meditation or placebo even. Sometime the studies verify that something definitely does not work, sometimes they are inconclusive. Many times science is corrupt and politicized. The vast majority of people everywhere don't care at all about any of it for more than 15 seconds. Wokeness is a limiting of already limited thinking. Anti-progressive, really.

This is very sad for the future of medical care in this country. We have "doctors" who do not have the patient's best interests at the forefront of their thoughts. And "doctors" who are such brainwashed simpletons that they buy all this nonsense. I really don't want one of them for my doctor.

That works fine #10, until you smash an eye socket, slash or even just 'nick' a major artery, or step in front of a car/bus/horse drawn carriage, come down with a truly life-threatening injury, disease, infection, on and on. I'm sure your way will work for some things but not the things that worry me. If 'natural healing' had been effective in the past, modern medicine would never have come about.

When someone has had success in beating off a global pandemic, shouldn't they maybe get some kind of laurels? At a minimum, it would makes sense to learn what they learned so as to get the same result. That's how actual science works, or at least, it did. Not to the global bureaucrats of the World Health Organization (WHO), which can't stop telling African countries on a continent that has great success in beating COVID, what to do.

Who among us could have guessed a few years back that today gender ideology would be the clearest, most divisive matter of contention separating the American left from the right? To those reasonably grounded in reality, the notion that gender is fluid, that a Supreme Court Justice would be unable to define the word “woman,” that men can give birth, and that children can and should be mutilated if they are confused about their own gender identity is not only sheer lunacy, it is barbaric.

Since President Trump left office, many of the “trustworthy” media outlets have created a talking point that is now held by a minority, yet noticeable number of Conservative Americans. The belief is “DeSantis is Trump, without the baggage.” This group supported President Trump’s policies and felt he did a tremendous job as president, but now feel the baggage that came with Trump would not be present with Ron DeSantis. Many have taken this a step further and believe this baggage would give DeSantis (or others) a better chance of winning in a general election against the Democrat nominee than President Trump.
